We took our family here when they were visiting. It's pretty solid - lots of food options, well proportioned & priced well. If you are looking for Chinese on the Penisula- check it out.

Delicious meal that was shared with family and friends!

For my birthday dinner earlier today, I desperately wanted Chinese food since I normally can't eat anything that has MSG in it without getting terribly sick. I took a chance and went back into my memories for a place I used to love as a child. Hence going to Chen's. I remembered my family gathering and enjoying a lovely meal in a warm atmosphere with amazing service. Today, I gathered once again my family and friends and we went in for a meal. Long story short, this is the first time in years that I didn't get sick from eating Chinese food! I loved the flavors and how sweet they all are. The food was warm and delicious and didn't get sick at all from it! I can confidently say they do not use MSG as a person who is so sensitive to it. I told my family afterwards that I will be going back to the restaurant way more from now on since they are the ONLY Chinese food place I can eat at on the peninsula.

$30 for one meal, and 6 gyoza?! Is this what the world is coming to? Not to mention, the chow mein was literally only bean sprouts, celery, and onion. I guess I just expect too much.

Big fan of the hot and sour soup and chefs special beef. Only complaint is the atmosphere, seems very dated.

Super yummy Chinese food!! I was shocked! Usually I'm a bit hesitant when eating Chinese outside Seattle but I was pleasantly surprised:)

This place is okay for where it is at. The best thing about the meal? Crab wontons!! They were sooo good I wanted MORE!

It was lunchtime and we were hungry. We walked around looking at all the menus in the windows of…read morerestaurants..... not really impressed. I mean if your in Long Beach, WA. and you want fish N chips or a burger, you my friend have found paradise. We wanted neither, especially not at these prices. Earlier we noticed a Thai Food place but it didn't open till 2:00 and it was a little before 1:00pm. so we kept looking for something we both wanted and after saying No to all of it including the Mexican Food place with their high prices, we noticed it was almost 2:00pm. We figured by the time we walk back Malai Thai should be open and we were right. There is No Handicap Access and it's only a matter of time before that becomes an issue.....more of an issue. We saw an older person with a walker go inside and sit at 1 of 2 tables. They don't have table service, Only Take Out. That's right, TOGO Order's Only! That was fine for us because the sun was shining and we saw an empty picnic bench next to a fish pond with a fountain, perfect. We both ordered Pad Thai, she had chicken, I ordered mine with tofu. Bought some cold cans of soda and waited. Our food came out pretty fast. Then again, we were first in line that day. We grabbed our stuff and headed out to the picnic bench, perfect. We opened our boxes and everything looked and smelled delicious and it was. We didn't really talk while eating. Just the sound of a coastal town and us getting busy with our food.I judge all Thai Restaurants by how they make pad Thai. Malai Thai has it down good. The best was the prices. For one thing, costal restaurants charge tourists rates on everything. Like more than double in some cases. Do they think we don't have an Amazon account. Malai Thai was priced fairly. We were very happy with our meal and how much it cost. Definitely coming back and trying other menu items.

Foods: nowhere close to what the dishes were identified to be. We ordered Drunken Noodles and a…read moresweet chicken dish. The Drunken Noodle was not tasty and lacking in effort to boost its spices and herbs. Beef was sliced thickly and not tender. Poorly executed. Ambiance: it's a takeout place ONLY Service: quite timely in their promised readiness. Conclusion: would I return? No, for a takeout ONLY place, your dishes are the main attraction and it's not there.

The food here was near perfection and warranted multiple visits in our 4-day stay in Astoria. The corn fritters were a great crunchy way to start the meal. Think fried creamed corn patties. The accompanying sauce tasted great and paired with the dunkable corn fritters they were a perfect appetizer. The fresh rolls, were just that, re-freshing. The peanut sauce was great. The chicken wings were fried perfectly, were crispy, and seasoned so wonderfully. I ordered these on each visit and enjoyed them every time. The Chicken Larb was good, not the best I've ever had, but very respectable. The chicken was not dried out, like a lot of places. The dish could have used a bit more spice and seasoning, but it was still very good. And lastly, the Shrimp Spicy Basil Stir Fry was delicious! It had perfectly sautéed shrimp, great spicy hot basil sauce, and vegetables that were fresh and delicious. It was so good and ate really well with. Just white rice. I can't wait to return to Astoria...I will definitely be back here every day they're open.

Wow, this a giant step backwards. Why would you have a sit down Thai restaurant serve food on paper? Are you too cheap to hire a dishwasher? Like I said in my first review...you started out good and quickly raised prices, cut portions, and now this...reallY? Jun 8, 2018Previous review
