My wife & I made it a point to stop here and eat after visiting Cannon beach. We both love good Chinese food and it's sorely lacking where we live. You guessed it, we stopped. Very kind wait staff, the chef had our order ready quickly. The potstickers were delicious. The waitress checked a couple times if we liked it, needed anything, etc. The food was good, old school American Chinese food. We love Gearhart and frequently golf nearby; other players recommended Great Wall to us so I made the call for take-out, ordering off menus I found on the internet. So, its true, good Chinese food is very hard to find here on the coast. I am an Asian food fiend, and transplanted from asian-food-abundance Seattle to here has been gastronomically painful. No pho. Very little good Thai. And the chinese is the REALLY Americanized stuff - you know, almond fried chicken swimming in gravy, egg foo yung, subgum this or that, barbequed pork, etc. So I was skeptical. Now, on the menu is alot of the aforementioned dishes But I look further, and you start seeing some rays of hope. Green Beans in Black Bean Sauce...Hongkong Chow Fun...Mu Shu dishes. And one of my all time favorites, Singapore Street Noodles (rice noodle curry seasoned with meat/veggies) So we ordered that. And just sticking my finger in the Chef Specialty section, Ma La Shrimp (with mixed veggies in chilli garlic sauce) The interior lobby is filled with chinese decorations and sculptures. Plenty to look at if you have to wait for take out. I was very happy to see the take out used traditional chinese cardboard containers (instead of earth killing styrofoam) Yay! The food was packed full to the brim. Ma La Shrimp was packed with shrimp and lots of vegetables. Great flavor but VERY spicy - I had not stated anything about spiciness, so if this is normal, MOST people would find it too hot. The Singapore street noodles tasted great and had the right noodle texture. I always add a little soy to my singy noodles, and I devoured it. Drawback here was using what i perceived to be x-day old BBQ pork; very dry and sliced too long. Earth friendly, yay. Prices in line for the region. Freshly prepared. Friendly service. I thought it was good. Am going to go back for more different dishes, particularly the chow fun. read more

Had the Combination Plate #1: Moo Goo Gai Pen was delicious, lots of chicken and fresh veggies; Sweet & Sour Pork was good but I don't like the bright red sauce; Pork Fried Rice was very good & moist. Also, choose the Hot & Sour soup which had a pretty good balance of flavors. The place is a bit divey and dated but clean. Many times the parking lot was packed when I drove by. Overall, very decent place for standard Americanized Chinese food. But I'm looking forward to trying something non-standard because I would bet it will be amazing! read more

Yummy, yummy indeed. This place knocked it out of the park for under 15 bucks. FANTASTIC!! Wow! I was quickly seated and decided to try the tea - skipped the rootbeer this time. They charge 3.50 for soda... too much. Learned that lesson last time. The lady who seated me poured the tea and was friendly. She is a fun human and, when serving the food, she will say "Yummy, yummy" in an almost comical way. I love her attitude and friendliness. I ordered the 3 item combo this time... and selected an egg roll, sweet and sour chicken, and almond chicken. It also came with a cup of egg flower soup. The egg flower soup was very tasty and hot. The food arrived quickly - the sweet and sour chicken is amazing - the sauce is perfect and the chicken hot and crispy... as was the almond chicken. Fantastic stuff. I felt the egg roll was maybe freezer burned last time I was here, so I skipped it... this time, I made myself try it even though in appearance it looks different than most egg rolls, and I am so glad I ate it this time. The texture was amazing, and the flavor was outstanding. Maybe one of the best eggrolls I've ever eaten. Also, the service deserves 10 stars - my small water glass never reached the bottom. The service interacted at the correct times and was so friendly in doing so. I am very glad I decided to come back to this spot... And all for under 15 bucks. I have lived all over and never have I had better Cashew Chicken then I have had at The Wall. The #6 Combo plate is my favorite. Cooked to perfection. Sue is the best sever you could ask for. They serve Sing Toa. Their Red sauce (not sweet n Sour) is by far the best in the states. My fiancé and I visited cannon beach an stayed in Seaside. We wanted Asian so we found this place here on Yelp. It had a sweet vibe and open parking right off the highway. When we walked in we were immediately greeted and seated, our waitress was extremely polite when I asked questions about the menu items. I ordered the Special Lo Mein with Shrimp, Beef, and Chicken in it, and it was amazing! While it was $18 which can be steep, I saw the portion size and immediately was impressed. You're going to get two meals out of this, and I took a full carry-out carton home. The noodles were moist and good, and the "Crab Pots" (their version of Crab Rangoon) was amazing! We had take out from this restaurant a few days ago on our way to Canon Beach. My broccoli beef was okay. My daughter ordered the vegetable chow mein and it's a mistake. It came as a box of stir fried 85% bean sprouts with 10% celery and a small bag of 'noodles/sticks'. It was overcooked and runny. Food was super salty and the kung pao chicken had no flavor and no sauce. the egg flower soup was flavorless it also had carrots in it which is not normal. the tea is just your basic herbal tea. They put the hot mustard in the same cup as the other sauce they give you, not happy about that. The pork fried rice had no pork in it at all and it was really salty. They didnt give me a spoon and when i asked one of the staff if i could have a spoon they gave me a dirty look and said "the spoon is usually for eating soup." I wasnt really happy with that response. Some of the decorations on the walls still had barcodes on them and they could've just taken the tags off. Overall my experience was not great and i wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. read more

This is my 2nd time at this Chinese restaurant. Neither visit was met with good food, but this was by far the worst of the 2 visits. The egg roll had obvious freezer burn, cracked off egg roll wrap and was cold in the center. The hot and sour soup had a good broth but had a strange taste when eaten in combination with the solid ingredients including beef with gristle. The vegetables were cut in huge pieces and tough. We really like lunch time in the bar. Normally it isn't busy. The drinks come quickly. The food comes quickly. There are regulars. We know the bartenders and they take good care of us. Those are the parts we see. The dining experience isn't as good when it comes to food quality. It doesn't taste as good and we aren't sure why. We have to assume there is a change in the food preparation area or with the cooks. The food is not as attractive. Dishes come from the kitchen and are not particularly warm. The sauces aren't always mixed thoroughly with noodles or rice. The soups remain good. The shrimp and appetizers are not always cooked appropriately, our last lunch the shrimp wasn't hot and was doughy. We still stop in three or four times each month. Three stars means to me that it is a place we will continue patronize. read more
