I had such a wonderful experience getting my nails done in Korea so I wanted to look up a place that offered Korean style nails. I found purrple nails which was conveniently located near me with a staff filled of Korean artists. My first experience was with Soo and she did fine I guess. I like that she was detailed about her design but she did cut my cuticle once and was very rough with drilling. For those who don't know, drilling gets hot and the artist should know to lift it every few seconds to not burn the person's skin. Because I liked the design so much, I made a second appointment to give another artist a try. This second appointment was with Ellen. She was sooo rough when it came down to removing the polish and cleaning and cutting the cuticles. One of my cuticles started bleeding a lot and she just used the dust to stop the bleeding but did not apologize once. I let it go. But after getting home, I noticed my cuticles and fingers were so tender and red. I decided to let time heal but it's been a week and my right thumb is still swollen and tender. It's painful to touch. I told the owner and Ellen and after some back and forth, they finally did apologize. However it left kind of a sour taste in my mouth because it just seemed like they brushed it off thinking 10 percent off the next appointment would really make up for the pain I'm having in my finger. Not sure if I will come back. The owner asked me to try another artist but how do I prevent this from happening a third time?

Horrible. Zero star…read more Made an appt and told them what I want done. My appt time was ~1.5 hours before they close. I was excited and drove 1/2 hour to try Korean nail salon. Prep for gel plus 1 extension took more than 2 hours then after the prep, they filed my nails down. They filed it so short and was unattentive that they filed off my skin and it started to bleed. It took longer than expected and I had to leave and was to return the next day. Thankfully I left because my filed down skin continued to bleed for an hour or more after. Gel and design took another ~2 hours. Total time almost 4 hours (+ 2 hours of driving time). Price was almost double other places I go to. Then less then 10 days after, the entire gel came off for one nail...next day, another...and next day a couple more. At least it came off neatly rather than chipped. At this point, I easily peeled off the rest. I messaged them and they offered to give me a free redo. Thank you but no thank you. I am not about to waste another 4+ hours and spend gas money all to risk getting an infection. Please hire properly trained and certified nail techs. Because other reviews have mentioned nail tech cutting down cuticles to the point of bleeding and nails chipping or coming off.

What made the experience even more disappointing was that I contacted the location afterward to explain what happened and give them the opportunity to make it right, and I felt that nothing was offered to resolve the situation. I wasn't expecting anything unreasonable-- even a partial refund, credit, or some acknowledgment of the incomplete service would have gone a long way. They truly care about their clients and always make sure you're comfortable and well taken care of. Zoe is my nail tech and she is AMAZING. Not only is she incredibly talented at what she does, but she's also so fun to talk to, which makes every appointment something I look forward to. My nails are always long-lasting, and I've never had issues with the polish or gel -- they hold up beautifully every time. I've also had pedicures with several different techs, and I really appreciate how consistent everything is. They all follow the same procedures, so you always know what to expect. The sugar scrub is hands down my favorite part! The salon itself is spotless, and you can truly tell how much pride they take in their business. They've put so much effort into creating a space that's beautiful, comfortable, and welcoming. One of the main reasons I found this salon was because my previous one lacked proper cleanliness -- I even dealt with fungus under my nail twice. That has never been an issue here. Health and safety are clearly a top priority. I always see the techs opening brand-new tools right in front of me, which gives me so much peace of mind. My family and I had a very disappointing experience at Cheri Nail Bar. We came in as a group--my mom, sister, niece, and myself--and from the moment we walked in, we felt unwelcome. The man at the front desk greeted us with an eye roll, and when we started explaining the services we wanted, he responded, "I don't care, just tell me how many people." Things only got worse from there. My young niece was charged for an adult manicure even though she is clearly a child. My mom paid for a gel pedicure, but only one coat of gel polish was applied. When she politely asked for another coat because it looked uneven, she was told, "No, we don't do any more coats." Not long after, one of her nails chipped, and instead of fixing it or taking responsibility, the technician blamed her and said she "must have touched something." Considering how much money we spent, the customer service was unacceptable. No one seemed friendly, welcoming, or appreciative of our business. We left feeling frustrated, disappointed, and like our entire evening had been ruined. I would not recommend this salon. Save your money and go somewhere that values its customers and provides better service. Disappointed that I had to leave a star considering this experience. read more

Cheri Nails is my new favorite place to come! I've being going for about 3 months now and I can say their customer service, attention to detail, their services, cleanliness and their up to date with the trends is impeccable! Zoe and Heidi the owners are wonderful- their smiles and the way they make you feel comfortable and welcome is just amazing! I have had my nails/ pedicure done every 2-3 weeks but I can go longer that's how good they are. I am very happy with each time. I came in for a pedicure and while the end result looked great, the experience was mixed. Unfortunately, the technician cut me three times with the cuticle drill. I mentioned it after the third cut, and she was more careful after that, which I appreciated but it definitely made me uncomfortable. I debated leaving early but didn't want to make a scene. His shaping is always perfect, he's super patient, and he pays attention to all the little details. My nails also last forever without lifting, which is huge because I like wearing longer Gel-X sets. It looked like it had been there for days and was infested with 100s of gnats flying around. I let the workers know, but they seemed completely unbothered. That should have been red flag #1. When it was time to be seated, I was placed in a chair that the previous client had just left. It hadn't been wiped down and was still covered in leftover leg/foot scrub all over the seat. I had to ask them to clean it before I could sit. Once seated, I really took in the condition of the salon and was shocked. The floors were extremely dirty -- old cuticles everywhere, nail clippings, dust, and trash -- like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks, if not longer. The final straw was seeing three cockroach carcasses near our seats: under the tables and by the entry chair (which we noticed as we were trying to leave). I couldn't believe how unsanitary this place was. Overall, the cleanliness was unacceptable and made us very uncomfortable. We will absolutely not be coming back.
