Love this place. Awesome driving range and really yummy ice cream. They have a large selection of yogurts for my lactose-sensitive people and it's all delicious. Decent prices and generous sizes too. The kids behind the counter are always super friendly, but I've asked them and they don't accept tips. If management is reading this I think that would be a great change to reward your employees with. This is my favorite local place for ice cream and I hope to be back more before the cold weather sets it! read more

This place was pretty good but my pistachio was so green I thought the girl accidentally scooped chocolate mint. I've never seen pistachio ice cream look so radioactively green. The taste wasn't that great and the after taste wasn't felt unnatural. The chocolate chip was good though. The place was well maintained and the workers were friendly. Ice cream is made on site, and is reasonable in price compared to many places. Opened year-round, too! The only thing is if you order during the day, you get great service. The evenings are questionable, as one young lady decided chatting with her friends at the order window for almost twenty or so minutes was more important than waiting on customers, which is her actual job. After heading to another nearby ice cream place and finding that it was closed (no surprise I guess, it's freezing!), I was happy to see that this lovely little place was still open (and during evening hours as well). As we drove up, I really loved the setup of the place and the quaint little lantern lights around the place. It was very nicely setup and I'm sure it's even better during the warmer months! The ice cream itself was absolutely delicious and they gave a huge serving! When we went to order, we were served by two teenagers who seemed absolutely miserable. During funny moments, they remained stoic and seemingly had zero personality. It was eerily odd how serious they both were... that's the reason for the one star off. Either way, I'd definitely like to visit this place again at some point, as it seems that there are other offerings available that I'd be interested in checking out. Found this place due to the Yelp reviews when looking for a good Ice Cream place when away this past weekend. This would make a great date night place as there is a driving range right behind it and then get an ice cream with your sweetie, or just get ice cream. Prices were reasonable and portions were generous. They boast of homemade ice cream and I can taste that, that is true! They have so many flavors it was hard to choose which one. When an ice cream place has the word "creamery" in its name, you know its going to be good. When it has an average of 5 stars on Yelp, I have very high expectations! This super cute little ice cream stand located conveniently right off of Rt. 128 did not disappointment. I stood at the menu board for a full 10 minutes trying to decide which flavors I wanted to try. Just when I thought I had decided, I noticed a note saying "ask about our special flavors". With amazing sounding options like Blueberries & cream, peach and whoppie pie, I was thrown for another loop! Finally, I decided to go with my old standbys of Moo Trax and Peanut Butter Chocolate. Moo Trax is Cherry Farm's fancy name for Moose Tracks-- vanilla ice cream with fudge swirl and tiny peanut butter cups-- and Peanut Butter Chocolate is chocolate ice cream with creamy peanut butter swirls. Both were filled with good amounts of swirls and peanut butter cups and were soft, creamy and delicious. Their baby size was a bit pricey at $3.40, but it was pretty generous - and worth every penny! I will most definitely be back to try out more of their fabulous flavors! read more

I can't believe I haven't reviewed an ice cream dairy/creamery yet. I am an ice cream junky after all! /shrug; does eating ice cream 4 to 5 times a week qualify me as a junky or an addict? The first thing you'll notice as you walk up to the counter is that the scoopers are always smiling. I mean those big, cheek to cheek smiles. It must be wonderful working in a place dedicated to selling ice cream. The sweet smell of sugar and cream would make me euphoric too. =) Well Cherry Farm is one of my favorite stops for indulging in one of my vices. It's one of the few creameries that make sweet cream ice cream. It goes with everything. Sweet cream and strawberries, sweet cream and blueberry, sweet cream and mango sorbet. Are you starting to notice a pattern. I'm pretty partial to fruit favored ice cream, so understand that my ice cream reviews are going to be skewed a bit towards sampling of fruit favored ice creams. Well the ice cream here is smooth and creamy and very very tasty! I personally enjoy mild flavored ice cream but the ice cream here is a bit "dual natured". Sometimes when I have strawberries and banana or strawberries and cream (my fall back favorite combination) the strawberries ice cream is mildly flavored little chunks sporadically spread through out the scoop. Other times, there are huge chunks and the strawberry flavor is in your face. No matter, I do have a preference but I LOVE them both!!! I swear though there are at least 2 people that make their ice cream, which I am told is made on site and by 2 different people. =) The portions are generous and are portioned out in 3 sizes: kiddie, regular and large. A regular is 3 scoops and should satisfy the stomach of most adults; the cup actually over floweth! Thank goodness I hold back and get the regular size because when i usually finish a cup i want to go up for more... but I resist. :( So everyone run or drive to Danvers and join me for some ice cream (I go to get ice cream 4 to 5 times a week); you won't regret it. I know this place is wicked popular so it must be good. I also know that lots of new help starts this time of year. You might want to review quality control. Today I got a vanilla frappe which was basically melted ice-cream. Not to mention the cup was so overflowing that the top would not go on. When I finally did get the cap on I had vanilla frappe leaking out all over the cup. Luckily I had what I needed in the car to take care of the situation with out a huge mess. I have eaten at numerous creamery, cree-mee, ice cream, soft-serve, and cone stands, have bought various brands of ice cream pints and cartons, and have tried many shakes, frappes, cones, and sundaes - 'numerous' and 'various' and 'many' being modest - so much so that I once wrote and posted a detailed blog about my life as an ice-cream junkie. I know what good ice cream tastes like and I know what makes a good ice cream serving joint. By far the best tasting soft-served ice cream stand I have ever been to is King Kone in Merrimack, NH. In terms of hard ice cream, I would have said Richardson's was the place to beat. However, after my last experience at Cherry Farm, I can now say that this is hands down the best hard ice cream stand I have ever been to. Vast amount of flavors to choose from, daily specialty flavors offered not usually featured on the menu, rich tasting creamy chunky ice cream, some of the best hot fudge I have ever tasted, a huge menu of other assorted ice cream treats, good portion sizes, homemade ice cream made on the spot, and a unique atmosphere are what to expect from this place, among much more. I wish I could write a trashing review, so as to thwart potential new customers to keep the lines down, but alas I am not a good liar. Conveniently located right off of 128, check this place out. So if you want a lot, I would go with something with stuff in it. This is the BEST ice cream that I have tasted - ever! Wow! The hard ice cream is so unbelieveably creamy!! They definitely put the "cream" in ice cream. The chocolate is far from boring. So creamy and chocolatey - not too sweet, not too bitter. Just right! The Mint Chocolate Chip is also creamy mint goodness - and yes, they make the green kind! The cake batter flavor is awesome. It is yellow and purple. The purple is actually gobs of cake icing. Wow. I felt as though I were 6 years old again for a few sweet minutes. If you are a fan of peanut butter, the peanut butter and chocolate was fabulous. I tried it since everyone in front of me ordered it one day. So freakin' good.
