However, with the advent of modern techniques, dentists can keep pain minimal while maximizing success. I am an odd beast in that I enjoy regular, periodic visits to the dentist where my teeth can be thoroughly examined and cleaned. In fact, I prefer a visit to the dentist more than I do to a masseuse or manicurist. Told ya I was weird! Of all the massages I have had, I have never enjoyed a single one. I have had only one manicure and it was not my cup of tea. A cleaning in Dr. Luna's office, however, is relaxing and good for you. Never thought I would say this about a dentist, but Dr. Luna's office is more relaxing to me than a spa. This says a lot about the excellence of service and the confidence that I have in Dr. Luna and his staff. Carmen ably helms the front desk. Being the face of the practice, she is on top of her job: friendly, conscientious, and knowledgeable about insurance issues. The dental hygienist staff, including Myrna, are caring, delicate, and precise. And Dr. David Luna, a graduate of our local UT Health San Antonio Dental School, is a highly knowledgeable practitioner who displays great attention to detail and genuine care for the welfare of his patients. My complete confidence and high regard for this stellar group of people is demonstrated by my years as a loyal patient. Dr. Luna and his general/family dentistry staff are among the best health care providers I have ever come across, medical, dental, or otherwise. Dr. Luna's office is sandwiched between King William district and the historic Lavaca neighborhood on South Presa Street. It's a cozy green and white house with a sign out front and plenty of easy to access parking in the back. The office is an old remodeled house, which gives the office charm and coziness. There are two treatment areas, one in front for regular procedures and the other in back which is used for more intensive ones. The amusing juxtaposition of modern dental tools used in a historic house is not lost to me. So, friend, are you looking for an excellent dentist? Well, I cannot recommend a dentist more highly than Dr. Luna. Try this practice and you will see why I sing their praises. A trip to the dentist being more relaxing than a visit to the spa... who would'a thunk it??

I was very nervous today and he really took his time to explain the entire experience - even drew me a picture. I had a tooth break in two and they got me in the same day which I really appreciate. But because of how I was treated I have already scheduled my next appointment for some dental care I have been putting off. (Not at his suggestion, it is completely my idea.) Also want to give a shout out to Sara. She was a great assistant to the doctor. Not only is she good at her job, she seems to enjoy it.

The gentlest dentist's office I've ever been to…read more I've been going to South Flores for a little over a year now and am so sad it had taken me so long to find them. These guys are the literal best. Everyone at the office is so kind and seems to make a point of making visits as stress free as possible. The receptionists have always treated me kindly and have not rushed me when I'm scheduling with them or have additional questions, the hygienists are professional but talk you through every step so you aren't surprised as to what's going on or what happens next, and the dentists themselves are quick but efficient in handling the concerns brought up. I'd mentioned tooth hypersensitivity in one area and the hygienist went out of her way to numb the location for my routine cleaning and the dentist went over possible advanced solutions to help. I ended up getting a filling over the area which has helped the sensitivity immensely. At no other office I've tried prior have they offered to numb the location to help with the discomfort or be proactive about the issue when I've brought attention to it. I never thought it I could be such a simple fix, but they took the time to care and the issue's been mostly resolved. It's absolutely worth noting that the hygienists and the dentists aren't rough in the slightest and have the gentlest touch. While I myself don't have dentist anxiety, I'm sure this must be a relief for those that experience it. I highly recommend this office if you do have dentist anxiety or are simply looking for a new dentist. You won't regret it.

From the beginning, Dr. De La Garza was so sweet and considerate of my comfort throughout the process. She has an excellent eye for detail and despite this process taking two stages, she maintained committed to making sure not only that my teeth came out perfect, but that I could comfortably bite down and floss between. I left msgs and even spoke to someone twice letting them know that I KNOW I still owe and will get them the money. I have worked in dentistry for over 20 yrs on the east coast. Do you know they sent me to collections for $85. I was only able to pay half for now- but I would NEVER GO BACK after this ordeal. Be transparent about pricing. Teach your staff to calculate correctly. Send in Pre D's. I blame myself b/c I trusted them, but I should have known better and did my own research and calculations. You lost a client in me.
