I cannot say enough good about Chesapeake Painting Services. My husband and I have been painting all of our homes & rentals over the past 40 years. We are very particular about repairing drywall and painting. Unfortunately, due to aging and health issues, climbing a ladder to repair drywall and painting vaulted ceiling is extremely challenging for us now. I called Chesapeake Painting Services a year prior to get an estimate. Mike Thompson came out immediately and we had an estimate arrived within the week. Due to having other work being done on our home (e.g. new windows, new flooring, bathroom remodels, ...), we put off painting the interior. To my surprise, when I called Mike a year later he remembered us and quickly had our estimate in hand. Jennifer from Chesapeake Painting Services called and scheduled a time frame to start the job. Sergio arrived the first day at the time Chesapeake Painting Services said they would arrive. Sergio took a light and marked all the imperfections in the walls and ceiling. He spent the entire day applying plaster to repair and fill in indentations. Sergio went over options for crown molding. By the end of day three, we had a beautiful paint job completed including crown molding on the ceiling. We can honestly say that Chesapeake Painting Services went beyond our expectations. Chesapeake Painting -- and its owner, James Guth -- are as good as it gets. Chesapeake's first rate crew (you can get acquainted with them on James' website) repainted the entire interior of my home (3 bedroom, 2 bath) after thoroughly repairing and refinishing the interior walls, including water stains, nail pops, and several sections of bad drywall. They also repaired/recaulked/reflashed a section of the exterior balcony wall where I had a persistent leak into my daughter's bedroom. Before committing to my new color scheme, James suggested testing the colors --a wise recommendation which saved me great expense and heartache since the original colors I liked did not translate well onto the walls of my home, which has bright and variable lighting. James' crew offered white glove service--I did not have to lift a finger and move knick-knacks or empty closets, as some painters asked. He photographed the entire interior of the house and put everything back where it belonged in addition to moving all the furniture. James was definitely the best value of the contractors I contacted and I recommend him without reservation -- none of the paint jobs on my previous homes over the past 30 years even came close. read more

I had my kitchen cabinets, my staircase railing as well as my foyer/hallway painted by Chesapeake Painting Services. I am very pleased with the outcome. My kitchen now looks fresh and up-to-date. It no longer has the late 90s golden oak/maple look to it and the cost of repainting the cabinets was so much less than refacing or replacing the cabinets. I can say the same about the hallway and staircase railing. I found the crews to be very professional, knowledgeable and meticulous. They took pride in their work, at times obsessing about repainting and redoing certain spots that weren't up to their standards, even though I would not have noticed the difference. The painters were also friendly, on time, and took pains making sure that the surrounding furniture was either moved or covered with protective liners. It was easy to communicate with the crew, the foreman, and the front office to clarify i.e. paint colors, service dates and return of the cabinet doors; I had all of my questions answered and then some. I highly recommend Chesapeake Painting Services, they were very professional and timely with the services performed. We had the whole inside of our house repainted removing wallpaper and minor drywall repairs due to a leaky roof. My mother has dementia and they worked around our schedule and always were very courteous to her even when she wandered into where they were working. They always put the furniture back to the original placement every day before they left so she would not be out of sorts in the night. The house looks like a new home even though it is a 100 Year old home, the painters did such a nice job. They even looked over everything after the job was complete and saw a small area on the ceiling that needed a third coat of paint (due to having popcorn ceilings) that the 2 coats did not cover, we did not even notice it. I have already recommended them to my neighbor who is planning on repainting his home. James and his crew have always been prompt, professional and very thorough in the work performed.....which goes without saying but, the finished result is nothing short of very satisfying! James will also be the first to make any shortcomings addressed without question,....but chances are, the end result is perfect the first time. Chesapeak painting services is very reasonable in their pricing for the A-1 quality that I have recieved. As a matter of fact, due to a recent scheduling conflict, James even offered a discount to the initial estimate so that our schedules could fall in line better. Bottom line is, I believe you will be hard pressed to find a company like CPS and James, that will truley and honostly go the extra mile to meet your expectations. I was extremely impressed with all of the personnel that I encountered during the work performed by Chesapeake Painting. From the estimator that came out to the work crew that performed the work, to the office personnel who walked me through my invoice and payment options, everyone was helpful and courteous. The work crew couldn't have been nicer and they did a fantastic job. I'm very pleased with the outcome. Not only did they do a huge interior painting job for me, but also took care of some trim work on the exterior and some handy work I needed done on my front porch. They were able to come out and give me an estimate right away and soon as I accepted the offer they were able to get started the following week. We needed some caulking work done on our house and called James when we saw that he was working on another house in our neighborhood. James was great to deal with -- he came out to our house and went over all of the specific areas to be done (and even pointed out a few more that needed attention) so he could explain to his crew first-hand what to do. That really impressed us, that he looked at the job in detail ahead of time so there was no question about the size of the job or how much needed to be done. He emailed us his quote promptly, and it was very reasonable. He also kept in touch with us about scheduling the work to avoid rainy weather. His crew arrived on time and did a fantastic job. After seeing their work in our daughter's home and meeting with James Guth, we also contracted with Chesapeake Painting Services. They painted several rooms in our new house - including the two story foyer, kitchen, dining and living rooms, guest suite and master bedroom suite. Additionally they custom cut and created crown molding for our living room and guest suite, and designed decorative framing for the upper level walls of the two story foyer. They started off with an unexpected discount which was nice. They arrived when they said they would to do the work. They explained ahead of time exactly what the process was. The painting of the rooms was done first and it looks great! Josh, the president of the company came in a couple times to make sure everything was being done properly and to see if we had any concerns. Over the course of the past several years James and his crew have painted my entire house, repaired and stained my deck, and last but not least renovated my hall bathroom. I can't begin to sing their praises enough. Everything was done professionally and on time. The workmanship has been excellent. The cleanup has been beyond reproach. We used Chesapeake Painting Services to paint our foyer, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. They did a wonderful job and kept things very clean while they were working and left it very clean when they were finished. They put up plastic around the areas they were working in to keep dust to a minimum.
