Chester's isn't your typical city bar--it's the people bar. Grab some fried oysters, a bourbon, and a High Life. Play some pool, enjoy the tunes, soak it all in, and enjoy the ride.

Great view, great food, great place. Came here on our way back to Portland from Ocean Shores & glad we did! It's right on the water so you get a perfect view. The food is insanely cheap! Really liked the feeling of being in a place where there are locals and everyone is being themselves. This place is CASH ONLY but there's an atm right across the street.

Looks can be deceiving... this a unique gem, and should not be missed when traveling through South Bend... Fabulous Bloody's!!

Ordered the fresh oysters with fries. They came out fried. When we questioned the fact that they were cooked she said, "Well did you want them uncooked?" "Yes." "Oh well, you should have specified." "But it says fresh. Nothing on there says fried." She just stood there and looked at us.

Fish and chips were awesome! Lightly battered and the fish was fresh

Oyster capital? This place exceeded my expectations! This is a Local hot spot for fresh meaty oysters and great fresh fish and chips - I've tried oysters all over the country and these are second to none. If you are an out of towner/tourist (like me) don't be a loser like that one yelp chick who walked in and walked out without trying any thing. Don't judge a book by its cover (yelping 101)! Sure the decor or ambience is that of a roadhouse but who cares (grow a pair) we are here for the food and the food was awesome.

This place is so sick. Stopped on my way from Astoria to Snoqualmie because I saw all of the oyster signs, and I was met with a big hello by the folks outside waiting on the game to go back into play (I clearly don't watch sports, but these folks loved the Seahawks who have Ciara's husband playing quarterback for them). Anyway, these fried oysters were big, delicious, not super greasy, and the bartender was super nice. Love ! It !

Oyster burger from the Chester Club. Formerly called the Chester Tavern and downtown South Bend Washington.

If you are ever in South Bend Washington the self-proclaimed oyster capital of the world and you want to try oyster Burger the best place for that is the Chester Club. Listed on Yelp as the Chester Tavern. My wife and I just had two of the best oyster Burgers we have ever had there. And I know my oysters. I was the South Bend oyster eating championship 5 times. The event is held every year during the oyster Stampede Festival Memorial Day weekend. I forgot I was going to take a picture of my oyster Burger until after I took two bites out of it. The side dish was potato salad.

Fried oyster basket with french fries. Onion rings also available.

This is one of the best small town bars I have been to. It has pool, good tunes and the best fried oysters!

The interior is old. The food is o.k. and the prices are decent. I probably wouldn't eat here again.

Great service, food came pretty quick and very hot and fresh. Another part of Pitchwood I find endearing is their Wednesday open mic nights. However, when I finally got to go to one of them, I was rather disappointed. Don't go excepting anything but extremely basic Country, I'm too much of a music nerd to find much special in what's played there. If you come here with expectations on food high they will be reached, just don't come expecting unique music experiences.

Unfortunately, our visit just did not land. The bartender appeared to be doing double duty as server, and I understand what that can do to a shift. I spent about ten years working tables and other service jobs, so I have a lot of sympathy for being overworked. Still, the service felt more than rushed. It felt brusque enough that we did not feel especially welcome. The food was passable. Nothing terrible, but nothing that made us want to come back. The local beer was also a surprise, since it did not taste especially fresh. Maybe this was an off night. I hope so. There is clearly a good idea here, but our experience was a bit of a disappointment.

Once seated ("I'll seat you here, because the table is the only clean one") in a pub atmosphere that only had 3 tables with patrons in the establishment. It was NOT busy. Ordered 2 coffees and a diet coke. Had to remind her twice before getting it delivered. Ordering a simple breakfast, a sausage and cheese omelet and chicken fried steak. The toast on the plates were hard yet not overly toasted. The gravy and the potatoes were the best part of all 3 meals. Let me say, the omelet was smaller than the toast in comparison. The waitress abandoned ship and slid off the radar... we had to ask another matey to refill the coffee and he did so very promptly! He was the better part of the experience. Nothing better than a "local chain" breakfast stop. Stick to mom and pops place or cross the street for a Taco!

We were hungry, so we didn't think about wanting to travel to Aberdeen for breakfast. We were desperate for food, so we decided to sit down. Needless to say, we had to wait like 1+ hour for our orders of breakfast. I literally had to skip on my biscuit/gravy order due to staffing issue and time constraint. The server was very polite, but we just could not get past the whole 1+ hour of waiting for breakfast. The food was ok. We won't come back.
