This is a small place downtown, but the food was very much authentic New Mexican cuisine. The selection of food was varied. The food tasted wonderful. I have never seen my granddaughters DEVOUR their food like that. They both had scrambled eggs, Mickey mouse pancakes and bacon. The rest of us had stuffed breakfast sopapilla, smothered burrito, stuffed lunch sopapilla and taco salad. Everyone cleared their plates. Highly recommend if you're the sort that likes to show love to the family owned businesses.

In fact they were painting the town gazebo for a film shoot that night. And if you're interested in film locations the Absaroca County Sherrif door from Longmire is still there on the southwest corner of the plaza. But I digress. We were very hungry and decided on Buffalo Hall. I was a little skeptical when we walked in and there was a long ordering line and what looked like a tiny dining space. But we quickly realized the line was moving well and there was a gigantic dining hall off to the right. We ordered the pork belly burnt ends and the brisket salad and several sides including a great slaw and very good beans. I've never seen pork belly ends in a restaurant and they didn't disappoint. Sweet, smoky, crunch and melt in your mouth. I don't know what wood they use but the brisket was delcious too. By the time we left, the place was packed with locals and tourists having a great time! I highly recommend botht this restaurant and the town in general as an excellent day trip from Santa Fe or ABQ.

The service was fast and friendly. When they brought out our appetizer, we then ordered lunch. I ordered the kung pow chicken. The egg rolls were made to order with the right amount of crunch with a tangy dipping sauce. Very good. The kung pow chicken was enough to feed two people. The white rice was served on the side and there was siracha sauce and soy sauce for added flavor. The dish was spicy on its own but the added sauce gave it an even greater kick. The chicken was juicy with the mix of veggies and peanuts. Delicious and also a new addition on my trips to Las Vegas, NM! My mom and BFF ordered the chile rellenos plate and I ordered a Navajo taco with Xmas (red and green chile). Food was ok, both mom and I enjoyed our plates. I found the green chile was spicier than the red, but the red had more flavor. My friend did not like his plate at all as he thought it was terrible. The salsa was very mild and lacked flavor, but the chips were good and they give you plenty of them. Also, I did not like how they served the entrees on paper plates and your drinks in red Dixie plastic cups. I feel that's fine if you are ordering fast food or eating outside at a taco truck/stand but not at a sit-down restaurant. I will definitely not be back, only because I don't live in the area, but if I did I might order take out.
