Not a bad inn for $130 weeknight stay. Though perhaps our rate was lower than typical because it turns out almost nothing in town is open on Tues/Wed... Staff couldn't tell us how to walk into town or how long it would take us, just that it was a five minute drive (sad). There's an easy foot path and pedestrian bridge you can access just down the road through the Methow River Lodge & Cabins. It was maybe a ten minute walk to town, and a lovely one at that. We requested a quiet room and were placed upstairs all the way at the back, and we were pleased. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Bathtub had trouble draining, so we kept that short and sweet. No one to report that to next day upon checkout as you just leave your room keys in a bowl on the counter and that's that. No wifi, but our room had a dvd/vcr player, and there is an impressive selection of movies for guests to borrow. We went with a nostalgic Ewok Adventure on VHS, and let me tell you it was a solid choice. Breakfast downstairs included decent coffee, hot veggie quiche, english muffins with cream cheese, and blueberry pound cake. A nice touch, especially since there was nowhere in town open for us to get breakfast. I guess we'll have to come back to Winthrop over a weekend to experience the town at its fullest. I wouldn't mind staying at Chewuch Inn & Cabins again when I do.

This is a wonderful stopping place in Winthrop. Walking distance to downtown. All the cabins are remodeled and very nice. The breakfast is served in a common area that is open 24 hrs. They also have dvds for borrowing found in this area. We loved the breakfast with quiche, oatmeal, scones, coffee cake, fruit, waffles, and more. We had two large bucks outside our back door, and there were does and fawns meandering the property. Great place and reasonably priced.

Finally as a last resort we were able (lucky) to book "Artic Dream." I booked it online and in seconds I received a confirmation. "Enjoy all the comforts of home, convenience of being near town, and the country feel of the Methow Valley. Mule deer greet you in the early morning hours, birds serenade you each day, and the sun always seems to be shining when you're here." No sunshine, because it was snowing, but you can't complain about that. I got up in the morning, looked out the sliding door and what do you know? DEER!! I saw 6 does and a buck! It was true! The cabin is located two miles south of Winthrop and snuggled in the Okanogan National Forest. It was truly a beautiful picturesque setting. The cabin had three bedrooms, a good size kitchen, and a cozy living room. There's also a nice gas fireplace and a small deck in the back. The only thing missing would have to be a hot tub to loosen up those knots after our hikes. The kitchen is not huge, but a good size to take on the duties of roasting the gobble gobble and making my homemade stuffing. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the right cookware to undergo the 4-hour task. If you forgot to bring something there's a Red Apple Grocery Store down the hill and across the highway. The historic downtown is only a few miles away. There's also snowboarding, skiing, hiking and X-Country trails within a minute car ride. This was baby Ali's first family trip. I'm sure this place will add more memorable memories to the family. If you're craving a mountain setting with the convenience of a short drive to the store and downtown, this is the cabin for you.

I started calling around and was referred to the Methow Valley Suites. The room I stayed in has french doors leading onto a nice bit of lawn which leads into the local hills where deer roam. I could hear all the birds in the morning when I was wakened by the natural light of day. Our breakfast began with homemade applesauce and was followed by local sausage, scrambled eggs and delicious crepes. The coffee just kept coming! I hope to stay there again!

Their knowledge of the Methow Valley, Twisp, and the people of Twisp is unparalleled. Ask them to talk a little bit about Bill's career as a smoke jumper - and you'll have some fascinating stories! Every breakfast was amazing, featuring local fare, and recipes passed down for at least a generation (or three). It was so special to come home to the mid-morning, mid-afternoon, and evening snacks that Sandy left out for us throughout the day. Their house was immaculate, and well designed for a B&B. The beds were comfortable (making for perfect night-time sleepy-time), the chairs were very "loungy" (making for perfect day-time sleepy-time), and the carpet felt good under the toes, especially after a long day skiing the Loup! The living space was comfy/cozy with amazing panoramic views of the valley. We came in the winter (with 18" of snow on the ground), and couldn't really take advantage of the deck which afforded even better views - but that gives us a reason to come back in the summer! But... because there were 18" of snow on the ground - their driveway/street made for possibly one of the best sledding hills in the land - one which our children spent hours on every day. Twisp and the surrounding areas had so many fun things to do: skiing (the Loup - only 20 minutes away), ice-skating, sledding, and was walking distance to town. The town of Twisp is a surprising gem that blew us away. You have to go to the Glover Street Market and check out its amazing downstairs wine-cellar with tastings on Saturday. The Methow Suites is a wonderful B&B that we can't wait to visit in each of the other three seasons (next stop - Spring!) Thank you Bill & Sandy for a great time!

An inviting living room, a swinging bench on the porch and very comfy beds. They really make you feel like you are friend of the family. I checked in rather late and I was suprised to see my room key waiting for me accompanied by a friendly welcome letter. I loved my bedroom! It wasn't the biggest in the world but the bed was divine! I had my own sink but shared the upstairs bathroom with the rest of the guests (european style!) Coffee starts at 630 am which is nice for the earlier birds. Their continental breakfast includes locally produced jams and compotes as well as a suprise dish of the day. When i was there, frittata one day and the next day it was stuffed french bread/toast. Usually the owner or one of the other care takers is on hand for friendly conversation and to offer tidbits of local advice. My shared bathroom accomdation goes for $89/night which I found to be very reasonable. So stop with your fast paced lifestyle already! slow down at the Methow Valley Inn!

This lovely house is an oasis perched right in the foothill of the mountains, with a river running very close by. It is quiet here, peaceful, and definitely a place to come for a relaxing weekend. The rooms are very affordable and super, super clean. This is by far the most well-kept B&B I have stayed in. The rooms are well-sized and the bed was very comfortable. Be warned that rooms 1,2, and 3 share a bathroom european-style. This was fine by us, and we never even saw the other people while there. We loved the breakfast options, which included many things preserved onsite (including a killer salsa for the fritatta and a lovely raspberry jam and pear compote). The innkeepers are really, really nice people who have the balance down between socializing and letting you relax. This is a hard balance to strike and they do it well. Another big plus: no kids! No dogs either, but this contributes to the peaceful atmosphere. Loved this place and will definitely drive all the way back just to stay there.

It was a bit steep for a Monday evening, totaling $211 with taxes. Upon driving in, on the left hand side was an eyesore, reminiscent of the Texas Chainsaw massacre with car parts strewn all over the lawn, a bit eery. Maybe that's where you end up if you don't pay! The manager on duty was very polite, and let us check in a couple hours earlier than their normal check in. The maids were still cleaning the room when we arrived. They only allow one person at a time at the hotel desk so they abide by COVID rules. Every employee we came across wore masks. We stayed in the main building up on the second floor. Enter room. Very clean. On the left is a closet with permanent hangers and a vanity with soaps and lotions (beware the soap does not foam at all, was it really soap?), and then the bathroom. Lots of towels. In the room straight ahead is a loveseat and and A/C unit that works very well. There were two queen beds with that cute "you're on the river" bed posts. Quilted blankets for that homey feel. Pretty sure they aren't cleaning the quilts between guests though, didn't smell fresh. Pillows were comfy. Beds were firm, but I found it quite comfortable. They supply a mini fridge and a microwave and a coffee station. There is a tv, but it's about the size of a laptop monitor, pretty small. Normally they have a place where you can borrow DVD's to watch or board games to play, but during COVID, they are not doing that. The best part of the Inn is that our patio overlooked the River, which is very relaxing. The screen door fell off the tracks multiple times so I decided to just leave it parked at an angle outside the sliding glass door. They provided a citronella candle (nice touch) in case you didn't want to experience mosquito genocide. Not relaxing was the giant tree being escavated within our front view, and was loud, ruining an otherwise perfect view of the water. Before dinner, we laid out in the hammock and got some shut eye. After dinner we came back, as I had reserved an hour (they allow you to sign yourself up on a sheet outside the indoor pool on premises) for the pool and the hot tub. Beware, the hot tub.... it's hot. Burned my keister. :P The wi-fi was somewhat slow and made it somewhat difficult to plan the next days adventures. We still managed to get a decent nights sleep, and check out was quick and easy.
