As soon as Kate came to the table with her great smile and attitude. she made us feel very comfortable explaining and suggesting few items that would go well with our diet. First time there with friends. Had the sunset menu and the prices were excellent. Service was attentive and all of our dinners were tasty and well presented. A friend recommended that I take my dog to Henry's for her birthday as they claimed to have a Birthday dog bowl and treats for the dog. When we got there we were given a cheap bowl probably from the dollar store and they were out of dog biscuits and frozen dog treats. Dined at Henry's Friday (8/5/16) evening. We had the 3 course $20.00 Summer meal. Three of us had the chopped steak, the fourth had Salmon. All were outstanding, and well worth the $20. We went here for Valentine's Day and arrived at 6:45 for our 7:30 reservation. We went to the bar for a drink and the bartender was very friendly (Eric) and made us feel very welcome. We were told by the hostess that it would just be a few minutes for us to be seated since our table had just paid their bill. We ended up getting two drinks each at the bar, and were not sat until 7:40. The waiter was very friendly and on top of things and brought us delicious warm bread immediately. We shared the chopped salad which was fabulous along with short ribs and the halibut special of the evening, and concluded with creme brulee pie with berries. This place is awful. Went there with two children and three adults. Saturday 6 pm. Nobody was there. Maybe 20% occupied. Our goal was to get in and out in an hour. Ordered 2 grilled cheese for kids, a salad, crab cakes , and trout Ordered right as we sat down. After 50 minutes we never even had bread. Went to the woman manager and she could care less. Dinner finally showed. How can you screw up grilled cheese. Crab cake was 5% crab 95% filler ugh. Trout was swimming in butter. Had to wave our arms to get attention to get out check and escape. Arrived to a full house on a Fri night and was seated in outside dining area where I noticed a strong "breeze" coming from fans mounted at the ceiling of the tent. Noticed several other diners who requested to be moved from underneath these fans. Attentive servers who definitely look out for each other's tables as my raspberry iced tea was consistently refreshed with a new one brought to the table almost as soon as I finished the one before. Ordered the Mediterranean chopped vegetable salad and the eggplant cakes that topped it were scrumptious. This salad could have fed 4 people but 2 of us shared with very ample portions. I would definitely come back here for lunch just for that salad! My turkey meatloaf was very moist and tasty as I noticed it was filled with translucent sautéed onions and carrots. Julienned sautéed zucchini and squash and carrots served on the side were perfectly cooked. The sweet potato purée was served cold and I asked for it to be heated up and it was returned to the table with a double portion and even the serving plate was hot. Flourless chocolate cake special was ordered without whipped cream and was served with beautiful raspberry and chocolate sauce and... Whipped cream... Had to send it back as this is the only allergy I have, and, by the time it returned to the table, my husband had finished his dessert. The raspberry sorbet that accompanied it was delicious and the cake was excellent with a deep chocolate flavor. Very well prepared food at Henry's, terror menu, wonderful service, the outdoor seating was actually nice once I moved away from the breezy fans! I read Henry's online menu and decided I would have the bronzini, prix fixe meal for $20. When we arrived at the venue, outside on a sandwich board and on a menu under glass the same prix fixe meal was offered at $20. However, at the table the menu read $24 for the exact same meal. The waiter insisted the menu price was correct. We asked for the manager; she supported the waiter saying the price of fish had gone up. Having received a Rapoport gift card, my husband and I chose to use it at Henry's, My ceasar salad was just average, my Salmon Burger was very good. My husband chose the filet which he said was beyond awful. The sauce was over the top tasteless and the filet tasted like any meat, not a high end grilled steak. The vegetable weren't very tasty and were way over cooked and soggy. Mashed potatoes were watery. The bread was good. The noise level was extreme and you sat so close to every table that conversation was impossible. I am glad for Henry's that they are so popular but we will take a pass the next time read more

Henry's is my comfort food place to go. Probably go at least once if not 2,3 times a week. I know it is always amazing and the bar staff is beyond the best group of guys. The only reason I'm giving this place the one star is because the server was a nice guy and a good server. One of my dinner companions ( there were 4 of us) ordered the chopped steak. The meat was rotten and smelled horrible. We told the server who took the dish away. A few minutes later the manager came to our table and said how sorry he was we didn't enjoy the steak. When explained it wasn't that we didn't enjoy it but rather it was rancid he said no, the chef tasted it and said it was fine. That blew us away. The food was good but the service was very slow, and the wait staff did not seem to care if the patrons were happy. We asked the guy that filled our water for things a few times, ketchup, napkins. He was very polite and resourceful. It smelled strange inside so we ate outside, which was very pleasant - you would not know there was a noisy road. This place is great! Great food and excellent service! Came here last Saturday night. Party of 30. It was Grandma's birthday. Kate was in charge of the party and she was Amazing!! She went above and beyond all expectations. She even made sure the prosecco was poured at the right time. She greeted each and every guest with a smile and great attitude. We had a set menu. Kate explained the menu to everyone and had an excellent understanding of all ingredients used in the food preparation. She made everyone feel comfortable and did an outstanding job. We will definitely be coming back. P.S. Kate even recorded everyone singing happy birthday and our guests reactions were priceless!! The cake was on a beautiful mirror and she cut it perfectly! "don't order the mussels," we were told by three locals, as we entered henry's for dinner on saturday night. the food (at least dinner) is bad. it's that simple. the food is bad, and it's also expensive. during our last visit, the service (peruvian waiter; don't recall his name) was also bad. one of our three mains had to be sent back; another wasn't good, and half of it just sat at the table, languishing. my suspicion is that lunch is better, but i'm confident that, unless there's been a drastic change to the kitchen and management in the last few days, you'll also find dinner to be a disappointment. henry's would not last one week in new york city. as another reviewer wrote: "henry's is diner food at fine dining prices." read more

Yes Henry is not the chef he was the owners former King Charles Spaniel, but there are plenty of photos of him to enjoy. Food is New American Comfort, great early bird specials for the older crowd. Nice menu touches and well thought out dishes, Henry's suffers from its size and very success. It's very expensive and the menu's ingredient's and delivery are top notch, but there are misses that shouldn't occur with the prices. Fish is consistently overcooked, but tasty. The conundrum is that if you are charging $32 for a dish it should be perfect by the time it reaches your table no matter how fast the kitchen is trying to push. Wine list is good, appropriately priced . Deserts are huge and showy, but not particularly tasty or worth the calories. Staff is well trained and courteous. The noise level is deafening and the facility would be well served to put some sound deadening materials around to kill the reverberation. At some point the noise distracts from the food. I'd like to give it a 4 star, but the price/food ratio allows me to judge it a bit harsher. read more
