This restaurant is every bit of a neighborhood tavern. The entrance clearly stated no kids at any time. Inside it is cozy in a dive bar term with a few billiard tables and a large bar area surrounded by high top tables. The bar server named Heather was super chill and a nice way to start our meal with some good drinks. Happy Hour is pretty much all day and they have a lunch special too, every day. awe had come in for a quick lunch and decided to order right away. The Cuban Sandwich was very good eventhough the bread was not true Cuban bread and it was a little well done but still tasted great. The pasta salad on the side was not a mayo based cup of peppers chopped and mixed with wagon wheel pasta. The Gyro Pita was filled with sliced meat and fresh lettuce and tzaziki sauce. I thought I had ordered it as a platter but was happily surprised seeing it as a sandwich. It was a big portion and the pita bread was very fresh. I liked their variety of hot sauces that accompanied the meal and the whole experience was very good. I will definitely look forward to my next visit. As a side note, THEY DON'T TAKE AMEX but it is nice to know that they don't add on a surcharge for using any other credit card. read more

Asked around for a good place to watch the Patriots games, everyone directed me to Turtle Tavern. I am glad they did, it is just down the road from me. Food was as expected, bar food. The wings I ordered were little dry, as I sat at the bar the cook carried out a garlic-parm wings that looked amazing. The bang bang shrimp was good, they call it a "basket" to me that insinuates fries, but no fries. I will try other food. Update 9/21 came for the game, again, got the chicken parm wings and steak cheese sandwich, both were awesome. The service was amazing, quick and attentive service but not pushy, the bartenders I have met have been top notch. The cost of drinks were really great. The ambience includes all major games playing, so it was a very busy and had mixed fans, most of the time there was some type of reaction to a play to a game. Always something to cheer or boo at. This place has been around forever and clearly has its regulars, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. I joined a group of eight for dinner and pool at Turtle Tavern on a Friday night. We knew it would be tough to get a table and fully expected to wait. Since there's no hostess and no formal waitstaff -- everyone identifies as a "bartender" even while taking orders and running food -- I politely pulled one of them aside to ask if she could let me know when a larger table in the back opened up. I walked back to two people in my group who were seated near the front door, and suddenly the same "bartender" shouted at me, "No, we don't do that, you are not allowed to ask people to switch tables." Stunned, I replied, "Um, I'm with them." She offered no apology and simply walked away. Fortunately, another bartender helped us later, bringing drinks and eventually assisting us in moving to the back table, which we appreciated. However, even she became noticeably impatient with our group. When someone asked a couple of questions, she snapped, "You need to read the item placed on the table." When another person took a bit too long deciding on a drink, she said, "I'm about ready to walk away." I understand they're busy and have a loyal following, but the level of rudeness we experienced from multiple staff members was unnecessary and frankly disappointing. With friendlier, more respectful service, this place could be great -- but as it stands, the attitude from the crew comes off as unprofessional and, at times, downright trashy. read more

Service Came in and it was empty. Maybe ten people in there. Sat at the bar to watch the game, right beside the waitress station. She proceeded to three times come up as close as she could to me making annoyed clicks and hugging. Each time mumbling under her breath. Last time she said this isn't going to work she has to move that chair. 1. It was there when arrived 2. She vpuld have simply asked insgead of tryimg to passive agressively get me to move. She could have asked me to move. Right out the door to a different place to spend our money. I will say this may be a one-off. The bartenders here are incredible and last time was great. read more

This is a great locals hangout. As the sign says, every hour is happy hour! The drinks were good and inexpensive. The French fries were excellent, thick cut. Everyone loved their quesadillas. Service was great - friendly and made getting separate checks really easy! I am looking forward to going back and trying the wings or Cuban sandwich. I went bc I met one of their other bartenders at a golf course and he was very funny and conversational so I thought I'd surprise, Marcel, however he wasn't working tonite, we had a lovely helpful female bartender. This is a local, neighborhood bar with large TV's for sports fans, pool tables, a cast of regulars, and decent food. The small bar was almost full when we stopped in, so we sat at a high top nearby. We grabbed a couple menus from the bartender. Although the sign says to place your order at the bar, she came over to us to take and later deliver our ordered food and drinks. If you're worried about covid, most everyone here was not wearing a mask. There's a sign on the door stating something re: everyone's "freedom" etc. However, there are signs on the tables also asking masks to be worn when walking around... Anyhow.. My husband ordered their gyro plate -- a special of the day. It was a large plate with well done strips of gyro meat, pita bread wedges, a salad, and tsaziki sauce. He was hungry so he ate it all -- but he said it was good. We started with an appetizer order of fried mushrooms. They came with a dipping sauce. This mass produced version was a bit heavily battered for me. And I wouldn't get them again. After the mushrooms, I had their Maryland style crab soup. This was packed with veggies like corn, green beans, carrots, etc. along with shredded crabmeat in a tomato base. It was good. There's ample parking out front. There is a Chinese restaurant nearby as well as "the girls" further down on the south side. I'm glad we came. Now our curiosity has been satisfied. read more

A very cool place for locals. Fun place with many TV's and tables but bar seats are kinda limited. My first time there I definitely felt like an outsider. Almost no chit chat or eye contact with servers who happily and actively engage with regulars. Wings were ok, not outstanding. So so many great reviews for the Turtle Tavern-- it's close to my house so I gave it a shot. It was one of the worst looking meals-- I didn't even eat it, my husband took one bite and spit it out. We walked out and went to BurgerFi (it was awesome) I ordered 2 ORDERS of sliders, one with cheese and bacon the other just bacon. What was delivered were just two sliders with one with uncooked cheese the other with uncooked bacon, five mushy french fries. Live and learn. read more
