Nothing fancy, but huge portions, and everything was tasty. the Liver Pate was much bigger than expected, and good The Duck Confit was super - boneless which was surprising, moist and crispy at the same time, and the rice that came with it was great too. The Raw Tuna dish, was also fresh and refreshing. Great service and ambiance.

We started with the French onion soup and it was so yummy. My only complaint is I wish it had more cheese... and more cheese stuck to the sides of the bowl because picking off the crispy cheesy parts is literally the best part. Mmmmm. Nice that they split it into two bowls for my bf and I to share! I got the steak frites. It was good, but my only complaint is it was salty. Like... salty salty. Both the steak and the fries were pretty heavily seasoned. My lips were starting to burn by the end lol. I also wish it came with garlic aioli. I saw the regular fries on the menu are served with it, and now I'm mad at myself for not asking to swap. Overall though, the service was great! The bartender was really nice, and our food came out fast. I'd definitely come back and just ask for a little less salt next time and that garlic aioli !

The interior decorator(s) clearly had taste. The artwork is pretty and the windows add to the light and airy feeling. Now let's talk food! The food is bespoke. I had to google a few words (which I loved) to make sure I knew what I was getting. The Fried Cauliflower had a touch of spice, and frankly you would have no idea you were eating cauliflower if it wasn't in the name. Pimento Cheese Galette...what's the word...hmmm....divine! Spinach Salad felt like a summer evening on the patio - strawberries, feta, sunflower seed - wonderful! Artisan cheese Selection - it's cheese, what's not to love!?! The flatbread is 'hand-rolled' in house - babeeee! Seared Sea Scallops for the sea lovers. The real blessing was Savannah and Courtney. They took care of us and were a pure delight as well as helpful.

The service was friendly and prompt. The food hit it out of the park! My companions all opted for the Ahi Tuna special and I opted for a variety to get a better taste of what Undercurrent offers, to include the shrimp egg rolls, the chili, and the beet salad. Everything was spectacular! I cannot wait to come back to try brunch as I have heard it is amazing as well!

We ordered the lobster bisque special and shrimp to start and placed our order for dinner fairly quickly after sitting down. The two appetizers came out right away and were very unique. We then waited an hour and a half for our entrees. Our server checked in multiple times saying they were on their way/ coming soon. We were just two people and ordered steak frites and mussels. No special order or anything complex. These are two of the most popular items. We watched tables get served and flip to new people in the time it took to get our entrees. When the food did come out, we really enjoyed it. It was well made but this was a disappointing experience overall.

Parking worked out for us, but I'd recommend arriving early unless you plan to use valet. Street parking nearby can be tight. The interior is charming and relaxed--exactly what you hope for in a French bistro. Our server was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the service throughout the meal was excellent. They also had a nice range of gluten-free options, which we appreciated. I had the Croque Madame and it was delicious. The mornay sauce was the standout--perfectly creamy with a smooth texture that didn't feel heavy. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Overall, a really enjoyable brunch and, so far, our favorite French restaurant in the Triangle.

Truffle fries, not really French but a must , usually nice and it when I get them here but today they were just a bit sad as it seemed they had been sitting for a bit. Anyway I'm just going to put that to the side and give them a chance to correct that next time. Then the French onion soup which was I have to say perfection! The pull on the cheese was on point. The broth so flavorful . Steaming hot on this one . The escargot. Yes another must here. Always decadent . Buttery and garlicky . Awesome. The mushroom risotto. Yes I know not french but they do it so well here. Rich and creamy and perfectly cooked where it's not mushy, different kinds of mushrooms and I love they add peas. Perfect comfort food. Service was excellent and with a smile. Ambiance always classy and we watched a little World Cup too. Katherine is my goto for classic food and a great bar. One of the best in Winston.

Their escargot is great and I'd highly recommend it if you're open to it, and their mussels appetizer is absolutely bursting with flavor. Personally I'd recommend asking for a few extra pieces of bread with it. It's a higher end restaurant and I feel because of its association with the hotel it tends to skew a slightly more professional/business clientele and vibe but overall I think you get a pretty decent mix of people here. On my most recent visit I was told their valet service is for restaurant customers too which is pretty awesome, so if you come down when there's a huge concert going on at the park or something you don't have to walk 20 minutes to and from your parking spot. Overall I'd highly recommend it as a default "can't go wrong" pick for a nice night out.

We started with the beef tartare, which was absolutely delicious, along with the bread and butter. The butter was so flavorful that it deserves a special mention on its own! The flavors were beautifully balanced, with nothing overpowering the other, allowing each ingredient to shine. To finish, we ordered the crème brûlée, and it was divine. It wasn't overly sweet--just smooth, creamy, and perfectly balanced. The service made the experience even more memorable. Our waiter, Red, was incredibly kind, professional, and welcoming. He was attentive without being intrusive, answered all of our questions, and made us feel genuinely cared for throughout the evening. I can't recommend Jolie enough. Every part of the experience--from the food and ambiance to the exceptional service--was outstanding. We would come back in a heartbeat. The eggs tasted like powdered eggs, the bacon was dried out, and the sausage was so dry and tough that I had to use a knife just to cut through it. For a restaurant with this kind of reputation, I expected fresh, well-prepared food--not something that tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp at a hotel breakfast buffet. This was our first visit, and unfortunately, it will probably be our last. Save yourself the time and money and go somewhere else for brunch.
