The pad thai doesnt taste like it was seasoned well. For me its just noodles and chicken with a little bit of fish sauce.

This is definitely one of the few hidden gems in Melbourne. You will definitely not regret eating here as basically everything on their menu is perfect. Personally, my favorite things to get are the pad kee mao and the pho-ritto. I live all the way in Orlando but the drive there is definitely worth it. The manager Adam is super personable and just an awesome dude in general. The staff there really take pride in their food as well as their loyalty to their customers. For example, one day I had ordered pad kee mao and without even telling me, they went to the store to get more chinese broccoli to make my dish as they had run out. Even through all of that, my food came at a decent time and this showed me that they're willing to go above and beyond for their customers. I also love that they show genuine kindness and love to both their staff and their customers. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. read more

I really want to love Chez Quan, but I can't. Love the food when it's good, it's almost inedible when it's not. I've been here at least 15 times and 6 of those were bad. When the owner or his mom cooks it's awesome. Anyone else and it's bad. Noodles soaking in oil, over cooked and falling apart. So sad because when it's good I love it! read more

This place is a diamond in the rough. The food is amazing. The tostones and sauce are on point and are exemplary of what comfort food is. The eggrolls are homemade with love and puts to shame any chinese style rolls. The pad thai and fried rice were very filling and came in perfect portions. My husband and I have been coming here for almost two years. The food is authentic Thai food. The people who own and work there (Quan and Adam) are very warm and friendly. We went there last week and found that they were closed for renovations. Adam showed us how they were expanding next door so that they would be able to accommodate more people. This is my first time trying this place and it was delivery to my office. The eggrolls were overcooked (almost burnt) and my Chicken Pad Thai had clumps of sugar in it (which I removed and threw away). I will give credit and say the Pad Thai tasted good but thank goodness I asked for hot sauce (which I added to the Pad Thai) or the sweetness of this dish would have been too much. I will try this place again but next time I will eat there and see if it makes a difference. read more

I went to Chez Quans twice and was pleased the first time with everything. From food to service absolutely wonderful. I had the Tom Yum sandwich and Drunken Noodle was good. However, second time I went , I had the Meatball Sandwich...Very disappointed. Barely any meat, and the meatballs were the size of small marbles. I had them add veggies to it and got very little as well. But the bread was good. LOL..Not worth the price at all for what you get!.. I was so bummed... Anyway-my wife had the noodle soup and she liked it very much.. I would have given them 4 stars but Meatball Sand. was lacking so I gave 3 stars. read more

We were disappointed in our lunch this Saturday. The atmosphere was promising, so we were hopeful this would be a new discovery for us. We are foodies and have experience with foods from a variety of cultures, so we were excited to try the tostones, Caribbean roast pork sandwich, and a trusty BLT. First of all, the BLT - the foot long was comprised of two toasted hoagie rolls; the bacon (which was cooked correctly) and tomatoes were sparse (one slice per roll) and the lettuce was not just wilted, about half of it was brown and obviously old, inedible pieces (from a bag); the mayo was not visible. The pork seasoning (Mojo) tasted like it was from a bottle of marinade, as it was very vinegary... this should be fresh - olive oil, garlic, lime juice, and salt and pepper. The pork in the sandwich was likely cooked in the bottled marinade, and - though the meat was not generous - it obviously tasted of the mojo marinade. Lastly, the tostones were not crisp and they were served with a mayo/ketchup mixture that is not typically served with tostones. We requested mojo, but alas that was when we discovered it was this vinegar marinade, rather than the good stuff! Also the service was very slow and we had to get up to ask for things like salt and mayo, but slow service is hardly ever the reason that I rate a restaurant low. Overall, it wasn't a horrible meal, but it wasn't good enough for us to want to return. read more

The experience absolutely lives up to the hype. I was intrigued not only by the reviews, but also by Adam's subtle props to old school rap, cassette tapes, and one of the baddest villains to ever grace a Hong Kong set. When I came in with my family, we were warmly greeted by his sister who sat us immediately. The space is small and intimate, and we took up two of the four tables. I mentioned how this was our first time there and we found the place via Yelp. We had satay, drunken noodles, tom yum sammy, and Thai noodle soup. They took great effort to make sure the heat was not going to be too much for my family- I have two children, but they are game for anything. Flavors were so fresh and delicious. Adam explained how his mom had run mess halls in the military before she retired, and as a result I think she is able to adjust her recipes on the fly. She came out of the kitchen and very graciously explained the recipes, how they evolved, and how the dishes were made. Portions were ample ( soup was huge) and my daughter and I finished the bowl of soup, despite being full, simply because it was soooo tasty. Adam even made my kids some fries with Thai chili sauce that was not on the menu, but ought to be! I am heading back on Tuesday and planning on trying the salmon. Think amazing Thai, but with a hip hop edge, and if you can picture that, then you are ready to give them a try. Throw in a bit of 90's hip hop and art and this is Chez Quan's. The owner greeted us at the door and sat with us at the table, explained everything, and offered to alter anything to our liking. The Thai tea here is INSANE!!! It was liquid heaven, the nectar of God!! It is that good. My fiancee had the spicy basil chicken, which she absolutely love.
