I took a safe route and got the Basil Rice with Shrimp, and it was delicious. I liked the artwork that they had on the wall. I think that's a great way to support local and decorate your establishment at the same time. Very diverse menu options! The dinning room seems a little small but so does the kitchen. They have cool art all over the walls. The food ordered was great and the portion size was great! One of our favorite places to eat! It is always so good that when our food comes I always forget to take a picture and we just dive right in! The drunken noodles are my absolute favorite! They are spicy, but my parents have asked for it in the past with little spice and they were able to accommodate. The kids chicken fingers look home made - they are not the kind you see in a typical restaurant. Not my own, but rather of other people's expectations of me. For months I have been flooded with requests to go to Chez Quan's. It is a really cool hipster joint with modern paintings and trippy decor. The owner sits confidently eyeing the crowd. I have quite literally pondered the popularity of this restaurant for two months. My conclusion is that if it were in a metropolitan area where diverse, high quality food is plentiful, this restaurant would not still be open. However, in Brevard County, this is probably the most original menu in all 72 miles of the Space Coast. I actually had to dine here twice because initially, the food was not good. The first time, I ordered the Pad Thai with beef. Unfortunately, the meat was gamey and it threw off the entire dish to the point I could not eat it. I also ordered the Fly Fish Sandwich, which was a basic frozen fish filet on a raw bun dressed up with a cilantro aioli. Not bad, but not outstanding either. The owner was totally cool and suggested I try a different meat in the Pad Thai. I declined then but decided to wait two weeks and go back. On my return I ordered the Pad See Ew. This dish was much more pleasant than the last time I was here. The noodles were cooked expertly and the flavors were moderately vibrant. The vegetables were fresh and the meal was adequate. This restaurant deserves to succeed because they have tried so hard to be successful. If you are looking for something outside the traditional box the Big Boy says give 'em a try. They're worth visiting if you're in the area, but I just would not take a special trip to drive across town to eat here. read more

I've been several times and the food and atmosphere have always been great. Last night was the opposite. The service was horrible and they didn't bring my sons food out. They accidentally gave it to someone else. It took them so long to make more that everyone else was done and he had to get his to go. We barely got a sorry and they still charged full price for his food after he had to sit there and watch everyone else eat. I've been there several times so I know this was an off night, but it definitely seems that the vibe is better when one of the owners are there. I will have to thank my cousin Gerard for letting me know about this place. I only know about Chez Quan's thanks to him inviting me to eat lunch there with my baby sister. It is one of two places located right next to the Galaxy Skateway on Aurora Rd. which means I would have never noticed it to save my life. Still, thankful to my cousin because the food here is amazing. Upon entering, you'll notice the restaurant itself is a mix of minimalist and divey. The floors are bare concrete and there can be at times a very "Asian cooking" smell wafting about as its atmosphere. However, it is offset by numerous painting by local artists on the walls. I even recognized some works from fellow artists I know like Casey Gardner. Anyways, you take your seat and you get menu service in which all the food is one single laminated sheet. You'll either get your choice of Thai, Latin American, or sandwiches. Either way, they were all good. I got the Beef and Broccoli, my sister got the Curry, and my cousin got some special order that isn't even on the menu because he "knows people." We did get to switch stuff around just to have a taste of everything. Amazing food. The portion sizes are just small enough in which a very hungry person can finish it in one sitting but big enough to be satisfied if you were to split it into two meals. I can attest to this because I had friends order food from them and be able to do this. Also, since they share, I was able to eat more of the meals since my initial visit. I suggest anything under "Ala-Carte." Ultimately, the dine-in experience is very minimalist and I am unsure if people would want to.sit in such a place especially if they are "better than most people." However, the take-out is top-notch. This is definitely the best place for Thai comfort food in the Melbourne area. I forgot to add pictures because I had already started eating. Finally made it up to check this place out. Definitely lives up to the hype. I had the sawadeesel and my wife had the Massaman curry chicken. Both dishes were cooked perfectly, and were loaded with flavorful, high quality ingredients. The flavor of the curry was some of the best I've ever had. Eating it felt like getting a nice warm hug from your grandma. The sawadeesel was just a punch in the face of flavors that my palate had never experienced before. The egg roll was also delicious. Each meal is made with love from moms Kitchen it's also entertaining mom is always interacting with the staff and she's colorful. Her son is a charming family man who loves what they've created. TL;DR: Chez Quan's legitimately may be the new ~*~best restaurant in Melbourne~*~ (and believe me, I've tried majority of what Melbourne's culinary scene has to offer.) PLEASE GO! I came here on a Wednesday evening randomly with my brother and sister, as we were curious about the name when we had come across it on Yelp--we all love 'Latin' and Thai food, too, so we couldn't NOT go. Chez Quan's is located in a strip mall-thing in a pretty desolate part of Melbourne (across from Galaxy Skateway,) and the signage when driving down Aurora isn't too clear (we nearly passed it.) The exterior is pretty unassuming and essentially hidden unless you look closely or use a GPS. (Please improve the signage outside so more people come to Chez Quan's and it stays open!) It seems like it's primarily a take-out place, but there are a few tables to sit inside, as we did. Upon walking in, we were greeted by the incredibly friendly owner Adam and his mother--the chef--Quan. The two of them really define an incredible customer service experience: the entire time, Adam was cracking jokes, making great recommendations, and just having a wonderful time with us and all the other patrons that came in. As vegetarians, we were concerned that only a few of the menu items were available for us, but Adam reassured us that since Quan makes everything fresh, they could accommodate vegetarian and vegan requests. With that, I got the Pad Kee mOOWWW, while my brother ordered the Bowl-O-Yeung and my sister ordered Lo Mein--all made vegetarian with tofu. In fact, Adam and Quan made sure to use unused cooking pots/utensils to handle our food, to prevent cross-contamination! As all our food had to be custom made, and because Chez Quan got SLAMMED with take-out patrons right after we ordered, our food was taking a while. Adam brought us really incredible / the most authentic I've ever had(!) Thai Iced Tea and Thai Iced Coffee on the house to make up for the wait. Our food took about ~25 minutes to arrive. However, it was legitimately out of this world. My Pad Kee mOOWWW (aka Drunken Noodles) were authentically spicy (as I had asked Quan to make them) and absolutely, perfectly cooked, spiced, and garnished. The tofu and vegetables are also freshly purchased, and that was very apparent in my meal. My siblings' dishes were also great--my brother's Bowl-O-Yeung was mind-blowing, and I'm already looking forward to going back to Chez Quan's to try that next time. In conclusion, I can't stress it enough, PLEASE GO TO CHEZ QUAN, MELBOURNIANS. Please go try AFFORDABLE food NEARBY that is legitimately DELICIOUS served to you by people who ACTUALLY CARE. These things are such a rarity in Melbourne, so Chez Quan is huge. I'll be back as much as possible before I leave Melbourne. read more
