I've eaten hundreds of beefs in my life and the one I had at CHISHACK was one of the worst. The meat was sliced much more thickly than a typical beef so it didn't have the desired tenderness. Beefs shouldn't be tough. The sandwich also had a very sweet flavor which I found odd and very off putting. read more

Nice place!!! I went to the Chi Shack to check it out, my friend said it was really good. I received speedy service by a friendly employee who answered my menu questions and was very courteous. I wound up going with the meatball sandwich with cheese, an order of fries, and a strawberry shake. The meatball sandwich was huge, with lots of sauce and cheese. It also tasted fantastic!!!! I then had the fries which also were excellent. by the time I got to the shake, I was stuffed, but one taste of it and I finished it too!!! It was also really good. This is supposed to be fast food but you wouldn't know it by the quality. I found this place in my Clipper Magazine and I'm thrilled! Im obsessed with the Maxwell pork chop sandwich. It's amazing! Over priced, have to pay for fries separate (and nothing special about them), cheese wasn't melted on my burger, asked for chicken fingers already sauced and instead came with dipping sauce that my son is pretty sure is open pit, and incredibly long wait time. Will not be coming back. read more

The food is decent but the service is so trash, they make you wait forever and still mess up your order, It never fails whenever I go there that I never get what I asked for. Food is excellent!! I know they had a slow start when they first opened a couple years ago, but they certainly have an "A" these days! Food has always been excellent and fresh, but staff has been wonderful and friendly every time I've gone there these last several times. You can absolutely taste the freshness of the burgers and fries. The beef is awesome! They have a Buffalo Chicken Salad that is my favorite. Their prices are about the same as Wendy's and McDonalds! The Italian beef and burgers are just as good if not better in quality and definitely better in price. I want to try more things but I just keep coming back for the beef sandwich. Fast food, wonderful flavors, friendly staff, competitive prices and a VERY CLEAN restaurant ...... it's highly recommended! We'd been by the location for years .... even long ago when it was a KFC. When we saw the Chishack under construction we became excited for them. Until today we had not visited but were interested in the chopped salad, Italian beef, special fries and choc shake. We got all of the above for two of us, ate our fill and still went home with half the salad. As a retired engineer with construction experience I appreciated the building design, materials and equipment. But I most enjoyed the food! We'll be returning! read more

We placed a HUGE drive through order the other day and were treated quite nicely the whole way along. The entire order was accurate as well. This place contains a standard Chicago style menu while making a name for itself through an assortment of tasty menu options. Our chicken tenders tossed in sweet Asian and buffalo sauce were thiiiiick pieces with lots of juicy sauce. My combination beef and sausage sandwich was drenched with juice and tasted delicious complete with sweet peppers and crunchy, fresh Giardiniera . I also tried the cake shake, which seemed to be another novelty with spongy pieces of cake filling a sweet malt cup. Great experience and great food, definitely worth the money. read more

Finally stopped here and I was not disappointed. Ordered the chicken tenders which were delicious, perfectly fried and fresh. I'm sick of the over battered you find at other places and lack luster taste, so Chishack was a welcomed refreshing experience. The fries were fresh and well seasoned and their honey mustard is the cherry on top. For a decent price, you can't beat it. This place deserves way more recognition and I can't wait to make it a local spot from here on out. read more

This place just opened a few days ago in the old KFC store on 75th and Clarendon Hills Road so I thought I'd try it out. The place was busy as others in the neighborhood were checking it out as well. In my opinion, the burgers are greasy and overpriced. I have definitely had better. I ordered two double Chi-burgers, two Chi-Fries, and two chocolate shakes and the bill came to $30.09...really??? I think that is a bit much. You could eat at a sit-down restaurant for that price. On a positive note, the Chi-Fries (garlic/parmesan) are great! read more

I'm a burger guy so I must say McDonalds burger and fries tastes better than Chi-Shacks!!! Would I go back...? Maybe not! They are expensive and their 1/2 pound burger is flavorless and it tastes more like ground beef packed as a burger. I think a smaller patty like 1/4# or 3/8# with seasoning will do that burger some justice. Maybe I'll try and see if they improved next year. read more

Simply put, I don't like this restaurant. Their food is subpar. I doubt they will be around long... every other burger chain in their price range that I've tried is miles ahead of this place. The staff was nice and friendly and my order was accurate, so I'm not giving them a bad review based off of a bad experience with the service ... the food just isn't good. First, their chocolate cake was doughy. Like it wasn't baked all the way through. Their cheese fries were a joke ... they give you a tiny cup of cheese with the fries and the cheese tasted fake. I can't even describe it - maybe velveta like, but worse because it was sweet like the cheese that comes out of a can. The fries were also not good, but edible. The burger was the only thing I ate that I wouldn't mind eating again. It looked appetizing and it tasted okay. Not amazing but not bad. A nice average burger. I don't regret trying it because I like fast casual joints like these and I think having more people f a variety of restaurants to choose from is great. Was visiting from Orlando hoping to try some good Chicago food. I stopped at chi shack because of the name but turned out to be very disappointed. First off we ate inside and the forgot our order waited almost 30 mins and when I asked them what's going on they said they mistaken our order for a drive through order.. by the time I got my food it was very cold .. dry... the fries undercooked. We drive past this place every day and were excited to see it finally open. The food is really good. My wife had the burger and she said it rivals Fatbuger (a good thing). The combo is very good as well. You have to try the Chifries (park garlic)! Being new, they still have some service kinks to work out, but I hope this place lasts a long time. UPDATE: I'm extremely disappointed at the fact that ChiShack believes it is okay to display the AMERICAN FLAG below the Chicago flag.. I don't know if you guys know proper flag etiquette but the American flag is always flown above any other flag. That is a disgrace to our country. "When it is displayed from the same flagpole with another flag - of a state, community, society or Scout unit - the flag of the United States must always be at the top except that the church pennant may be flown above the flag during church services for Navy personnel when conducted by a Naval chaplain on a ship at sea." By far one of the worse food experiences I have ever had. We went here about two weeks after they opened, and we expected some flukes as a new restaurant. I will tell you the food we got there was decent. Hotdogs and fries were good, chicken sandwich was decent. The service and them getting out order right was HORRIBLE! First time we went there we ordered inside. We stood there for 15 minutes waiting for our food, while all the teenage workers stood there and talked. There was 3 men that looked like managers/owners of the place sitting in the lobby talking. Never checked on us, asked us how anything was nothing! We were watching them and they put our bag to be given out to the drive up. They gave it to the car in the drive up, a minute later the car handed it back saying it was not there order. The lady took the bag from them, didn't even bother to look in it and just handed it to us. You can not give out food once another customer has received it. You need to make a new one. She didn't even make sure everything was in there. We left with the food and checked the bag in the car. It was missing two things so we went back in and told them. Manager apologized and gave us to food and told us to review them, so here it is. We decided to try one more time, this time thru the drive up. We enjoyed the food so we hoped maybe the service would be better. Ordered and the lady taking our order hardly talked to us. Got my order completely wrong. She didn't even tell us how much we owed for the food, just took the card and gave us the receipt. Waited a long time to get our food, that was wrong. I ordered two hot dogs with ketchup, mustard, relish and grilled onions and a buffalo chicken sandwich. We got two different hotdogs, one with mustard ketchup and regular onions and one with ketchup mustard and sport peppers. The chicken sandwich somehow had the grilled onions on it. I went home and had to pick off half of the toppings off of both of our sandwiches and hot dogs and switch them around and use our own toppings. Absolutely ridiculous. We were hoping for a better time because it has good food and a nice location for us, but we will not be returning here. read more
