I have been meaning to try this place after seeing some videos on social media. Unfortunately when we arrived the place wasn't open yet. On Apple Maps and on Yelp it said that they opened at 11am however they were still closed. We waited for about 20 minutes and they opened their doors at 12pm. When we went in we asked the employee that was there and they said that only Google Maps was updated, and that their hours were 12pm - 10pm. After looking through their menu we ordered two G-Pies (one dark meat with pepper salt flavoring and one dark meat with lemon pepper flavoring and mild spice) and an order of chicken wings which came with french fries. All the food was made fresh to order so we waited about 15 minutes or so before our food came (note that the bigger the order the longer the wait). All the food was crispy and piping hot. - The Dark Meat G-Pie with Pepper Salt was very juicy and wasn't overbearing with the flavor. - The Dark Meat G-Pie with Lemon Pepper however, unfortunately came out raw. We quickly informed the employee about our chicken and they immediately took action to fix the issue. They made us a fresh piece of chicken which came out perfectly. It had the right amount of lemon and just enough spice to feel a bit of heat without breaking a sweat. - The Taiwanese Chicken Wings were also very juicy and flavorful. I am unsure of what the flavor was exactly since the menu didn't say it, but I think it was pepper salt flavor. Overall, the food is very flavorful and because it's made fresh to order it's very crispy and piping hot. Unfortunately with the confusion of the time and the raw chicken, I am unable to give a higher rating, but I am willing to come back again to try more of their menu. read more

I've been waiting to try this place forever and let me tell you this place did not disappoint. The chicken is not a typical Taiwanese chicken that you are used to were its more of a flat piece of chicken. This one was more of a chunk of chicken. But the seasoning, with even just the standard flavors - was so flavorful. Each bite was still hot, juicy and packed with flavor. The other side menu's are so so, but you're not here for the side dishes, you are here just for the chicken and it is worth the drive. You can get it to go and although it might get a tad soggy, it's still flavorful and crispy. The best thing to do is just dine in and eat your chicken. read more

I have had Korean fried chicken (KFC) but this was my first time trying Taiwanese fried chicken. Chia Chick-Pie loosely translates to the Taiwanese phrase "eat chicken cutlet." Chia Chick-Pie's owner Bruce Liao's love of Taiwanese street food was honed in Taipei City, where cultural hub night markets feature stalls selling small plates, specialty drinks, and handcrafted goods. After he returned to Miami he brought the night market food experience to a stall at Smorgasburg Miami and in 2023, Alton Food Hall. You can now find Chia Chick-Pie in a stand alone restaurant that used to be a former pub in Miramar. You have to have a little arm strength to pull that door open but it will be worth it. This restaurant is super cute inside with dark wood paneling and pops of red but still retains those 50 year old pubby vibes. Once inside you can sit at a table of your choice and they will take your order or help yourself at the kiosk as I did and take your food to go. They even have a little outside patio dining which I imagine to be dog friendly. The signature Taiwanese fried chicken at Chia Chick-Pie called G-pie is a one pound serving of either white or dark meat. Cutlets are marinated for 72 hours, dipped into batter, and fried until crunchy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. Choose from dredging spices that include their most popular signature garlic, Chinese cumin, curry, lemon, New Orleans blend, pepper salt, and plum seasoning. You customize how hot you want it. Dipping sauces are an additional $1 and include the popular house sauce with siracha and Japanese mayo, tangy mango barbecue, honey mustard, and the Randy sauce a sweet and sour BBQ named in honor of Chef Randolph Casanas. You can get your cutlet in a cellophane bag, in a combo, or in a sandwich. Other menu items include wings, diced pork chunks, mushrooms, fries (both white and sweet potato), bubble tea, and for dessert fried Oreos and Fried Golden Thread Buns. I ordered the garlic chicken cutlet, a side of the mango BBQ sauce, and a brown sugar bubble tea. Everyone here was so friendly and patiently answered all of my questions and helped with the checkout process. Even though I knew the cutlet was going to be large I was still not prepared for the massive size. It came pipping hot and spiced to perfection. I could barely make a dent in this flavor bomb and I am still periodically cutting off pieces and enjoying it cold from the fridge. The Brown Sugar Bubble Tea with chewy Tapioca pearls was the perfect companion to the spicy chicken. This place is a cultural gem. I drove 30 minutes to eat here, and it was worth it. I ordered the dark spicy cutlet and the thing was huge. I also ordered three wings just to try them out. Due to the size of the portions. I was only able to eat two wings and half the cutlet. So this is a great place to share if you're really hungry. I also tried the honey mustard sauce, and the house sauce and I preferred the honey mustard. It went really well with the chicken. The chicken cutlets spice I chose was salt and pepper. I wanted to keep it pretty basic my first time. I've been to Taiwan a few times and this place is definitely the closest you'll get to authentic Taiwanese fried chicken here in South Florida. The best part about this place for me is the fact that they're dog friendly. There's a nice outside back patio. Overall, the staff was very friendly. They checked on me a number of times. I just had the BEST experience at Chia Chick-Pie! As a huge asian fried chicken fan (I've had Korean and taiwanese fried chicken before) I thought I knew what I was getting into, but it was WAY better than my expectations. I got the new orleans dark chicken cutlet and it was crispy and so freaking juicy. I was surprised that the same juiciness held over to the wings as well (piping hot and juicy and the same time). The batter itself is super crunchy, but not overbearing or super greasy. I was able to speak to the owner, and he shared that the same spices, batter and everything is exactly what you would find in Taiwan! I also grabbed the golden thread buns and boba (both delish), and came out with so much leftovers (in a great way!). Last but not least make sure to grab some of the fried mushrooms. This Taiwanese Fried Chicken is absolutely DELICIOUS! I loved it and it definitely beat my expectations. You can tell the team here really cares about the quality and taste! I've never had chicken like this before - it's a huge fried chicken thigh with delicious seasonings and it comes to you very juicy and crunchy. had seen a few viral videos on Instagram regarding this place. Taiwanese fried chicken? I'm in. I really wanted to love the chicken but I didn't. We ordered a garlic and pepper and a lemon pepper dark meat. I think I could've made it better at home I was expecting a super hard crispy dish. It was not. The consistency was strange and the batter/flower was not what I expected at all. I was thinking more along the lines of Korean fried chicken that is hard and seasoned well. They are also unusually cheap with the sauces. Any extra sauce is not included. The sauce pretty much tasted like ketchup and mayo with maybe a hint of cayenne pepper nothing special at all. The only thing that saved this place from a two star rating was the Boba and the fries. The fries were fantastic and saved the day. The Boba was also fantastic and really good. If I came back I would definitely try the white meat chicken instead of the dark meat maybe that was the problem. Walked in on a Friday night at about 8:30pm without realizing they close at 9pm (how embarrassing)...nonetheless, we were greeted by friendly faces and were given simple instructions on how to place our orders at the table using a QA code...we ordered a dark meat w/ new orleans seasoning and a white meat w/ garlic spices. Both were amazing, although the new orleans was definitely my fav...fries were crispy and delicious, as were the sauces (we had the home, randy, and mango...home was my fav)... The icing on the cake for this spot was the staff...Anaya, Mckenzie, and Fernando (hope i got their names right) were soooo friendly, helpful, and seemed so happy to have us there. They greeted all the late comers (people walked in even later than we did) with huge smiles and were as attentive with everyone. Huge plus to have a great staff like these folks... Chia chick pie in Miami Beach transported me to Taiwan without having to go to the beautiful Asian isle. With their fried vegetables staples such as the sweet potato fries with plum flavor, that you can't find anywhere else in Miami, their fried mushrooms (like the king oyster & the shimeji) that left me craving more or their jumbo chicken cutlets like the Garlic Spices and the New Orleans Spices that left me speechless. Haven't tried a chicken as juicy as this one. Their Assam Milktea with Boba (picture here) was the perfect combination. Don't forget to order the Fries Oreos if you like sweets like me. First, let me start by saying I have been here three times. The first time I went, I ordered white meat, which cost a dollar more than dark meat, I got all dark meat. I got four different flavors, and I swear they all tasted the same. The flavors were awesome, I loved the taste the flavor, the crispiness, but again, it was dark meat. The second time I went, I told them they failed to give me white meat, my last visit and asked for a credit so that I can order my white meat and pretty much get my dollar back towards my new purchases, They said no. I said OK can you at least make sure that I do get the white meat that I ordered this time, they said sure. I got the white meat and it was amazing, no complaints. It was the best. I tried to go back one day, but they were closed early. I tried to go back the next day, but I was told there was no more chicken, I went for the third time yesterday and all they had was dark meat. I figured it can't be too bad so I went ahead and ordered it because it is delicious and my kids had been craving it. Never again will I get the dark meat, there was more fat and cartilage than anything, I don't even know why it was called dark meat because there was barely any meat. I should have taken pictures right after, but I packed it away to figure out what to do with it because I hate wasting food, a lot of the fatty parts were thrown away, but when my kid couldn't even eat because it was so much fat. It may be a while before I go back there again, only because I was so disappointed with my first, and now third visit. Now the people in there are very, very nice, I have no complaints about them. It's a warm atmosphere. It's all wood. It looks like something from the past, not a lot of light, but it is cozy, I have yet to eat in, but it looks like it would be relaxing if I did. I will say I also ordered the pork chunks twice, I was not disappointed either time. They were delicious tender, very flavorful, and I highly recommend the pork chunks. The Boba was pretty much the same as anywhere else. I felt they were a little overpriced for how small the cups were and considering there are Boba shops where you can get bigger cups for the same price I'll include a picture of the chicken that was pretty much torn apart to try to enjoy but we couldn't because it was just fat. Ultimately my sons and I chewed for the flavor and spit out practically every bite. read more

Went here because of social media advertising from one of the food influencers. Parking lot is small so go early. It's one way in and out. The place inside was very clean. Ordering was easy. You can use one of the kiosk. They prefer card payment over cash. A plus for me. The wait time was very long. They have a small crew. The ladies did their best to accommodate and keep a smile on customers faces. Not enough man power to handle the customer load. Took about 40 minutes for my food to come. I got the dark meat chic pie , 3 wings and match boba tea. The chi pie was cold and not seasoned even though there was a lot of paprika on top. The food tasted like it wasn't fully cooked. I felt nauseous right away. I didn't finish any of it. On bite of the chicken wing and it was more batter than meat. No picture of food because I threw everything away after showing the waitress how the inside looked. I wouldn't be back but I wish more success for the business. I was super excited to come to this place. We saw so many people reviewing it on Instagram. We made the trip over to go check it out and from the moment we walked in it was a disaster. The ordering system said a bunch of the chicken items were sold out so I asked the young lady behind the counter and she told me that the computer is wrong and that they have everything so I asked her if I could order with her instead and she said no you have to order on the computer. She also told me all the sauces were out except one sauce .... Very disappointing. We finally order on the computer and wait about 20-25 min for them to fry the white and dark meat chicken we ordered. We get our food finally and my girlfriend goes to take a bite of her dark meat chicken and it was completely raw inside so I grab it and let them know it's raw and we would like a new one..... 20 min later again they bring back the chicken and it's the same one re fried. The owner has the misguided courage to come up to us and ask us to review them and give them 5 stars. Don't fall for the instagram influencers. This place is not what it seems.
