I've been to the Chiang Mai in the Junction in Toronto and I've always had a pleasant time having brunch their with my friends. When this location opened up this year in Mississauga near Square One, I was ecstatic to go. My expectations were absolutely blown away. At a glance, this Chiang Mai definitely presents fancier than its Junction location, featuring fancier decor and a grander and more authentic feel. There is no brunch menu yet as of writing this review so keep that in mind; only dinner options are available. They have booth seating and bar seating available. I did find their chairs, although comfortable, too easy to move and shift. The tables are also small so keep that in mind. The food here is stellar. My boyfriend and I got the Khao Soi dumplings and Thai Tuna Ceviche to start which were stellar. We then had more apps: the Gai Yaang and the Crying Tiger Steak, which we meant tot eat with the Chicken Pineapple Fried Rice. The Gai Yaang was probably my favourite dish of the night. The chicken was so juicy and well-cooked. The steak was very good and paired well with the rice. If you're deciding which salad to get (mango or papaya), I'd recommend both. If you can only get one, do the mango if you prefer sweet and papaya for a more savoury flavour. I personally prefer the papaya myself. The pineapple fried rice was another showstopper and had an unbelievable mix of flavours with the cashews and the cilantro. The presentation was beautiful, though it did make it semi-difficult to serve the fried rice from it. Overall, it was an amazing experience. What stands out the most if how beautifully presented the dishes are and how good the service is. I personally think the quality of food in this Chiang Mai is much better than the one in the Junction, although I am eagerly awaiting for their brunch so I can compare. Do keep in mind that this location gets very very busy during the afternoon so book a table ahead of time if you can. read more

Decided to try the newest location, located close to square one, they have valet parking, and some street parking directly in front. From the outside it's doesn't look like much. Inside, it's beautiful as expected, curved walls, booth style, table, high tops, accent lighting, book shelf with different trinkets all add to the experience of dining area. Chiang Mai is definitely my favourite restaurant, tried all locations multiple times so naturally didn't think to even look at the menu for this location so upon arriving noticed that it was missing a few items. On the menu they only list duck panang curry or only beef Kao Soi and hardly any stir fry options. We could however substitute duck to chicken. Panang curry was good, the tum yum soup hardly had any shrimp just two pieces. Mango sticky rice was ok. Now, service at all location mostly has been decent, however that night we were definitely rushed. At one point our server stood next to us, watching my husband eat the last bit left on his plate and immediately after the last bite he leaned in and took plate. Same thing about removing plates before it was even empty. From the time we got our food to exiting, the 5 of us were there for only 1hr 10m total so don't understand the urgency. I came here with a friend on a Tuesday evening around 6pm. We did make a reservation reservations ahead of time so we did not have to wait at all. The space isn't very large inside so it was a great idea that we made reservations because there were people waiting. We ordered the Khao Soi dumplings (4 pc) to start. These are probably one of my favourite things on their menu! I do find it a bit pricey at $12 for just four pieces but I'd still continue to order it because I just love how they taste. We also ordered the chicken pineapple fried rice & beef pad Thai. Both are really good! People usually don't comment on a restaurant service unless it's bad but I wanted to point out that the service here was exceptional. Every single staff member was friendly and welcoming. Our waitress took our order and answered all our questions and helped us with the menu. Our food came out so fast that I would've considered it at the speed of some fast food restaurants. Very cute decor and huge place. Came on a friday night and it was fully packed!!! Thank goodness we made reservations. Didnt like how they rushed us after tho, since i haven't seen these girls in a while and was catching up. I guess we chose the wrong spot for that. Cocktails was strong and delicious. Food was great. Could use a bit more spicy to be authentic Thai. But not all my friends eat spicy. Want to try the ube tiramisu next time. Had no room after the meal. Parking is a little hard to find. Mississauga's newly opened Chiang Mai is the newest, offering authentic Thai flavours with an elegant, classy ambiance. They got everything right with this place. Gorgeous! They were just as flavourful and attractive as the rest of our meal. · Thai Tea Tres Leches · Ube Tiramisu We enjoyed some cocktails with our meal and they were all really good, with a nice kick. · Silk Road Velvet · Milo Martini · Mango Sticky Rice Cocktail · Thai iced Tea with a Cold Foam As busy as they were, the dishes came out quickly, with staff checking on our progress regularly, refilling our water glasses, clearing used plates, and providing clean cutlery with each course. I recently went for dinner with my sister to try out this hot and new Thai restaurant. She had a 25% coupon so we definitely wanted to try before it expired. We had reservations for 5:30 pm and were promptly taken to our table when we arrived. The restaurant is very nicely designed and I like how the booths are so cozy. My sister ordered the chicken and shrimp pad thai, and I got the crying tiger steak appetizer with a mango sticky rice mocktail. Our food came out so fast, we were impressed. For dessert, I got the mango sticky rice. It was so good and beautifully served. We will be back later this month for a birthday! We went on a Thursday at 6:30pm and the place was packed with people lined up to enter. We were seated promptly as we had a reservation. There were so many staff everywhere in every role so everything was efficient. Everyone was friendly, helpful and kind. Our server, Asia, was so attentive and ensured all my dietary questions were answered and that I was happy with my food ( I ordered "medium spice" which was supposed to be mild but it was way too spicy for me Asia and the manager had it redone for me. The pineapple fried rice was better after but the tofu and veggies were still too spicy. I did not return it again but took it home for the family to eat later. First time going to Chiang Mai due to how popular it is. Firstly, I went with a group of 3 and we originally did not anticipate to get a seat but decided to try our luck with walk-in. Was very pleasantly surprised when we got seated within 15 minutes on a busy Saturday night. This was our first time going to a Thai restaurant and we chose pretty safe options that we all enjoyed. Everything is on the sweeter side so be mindful if you are more of a savoury person! The drinks are amazing and come with non-alcoholic options. UPDATE: Further to my not-so-great experience when I last visited last month, I have gone back to Chiang Mai to give it a shot. I really appreciate that my concerns were taken into consideration and I loved seeing a huge improvement to the team, from the customer service to the overall experience. This time I've decided to visit on a weekday to avoid a long wait time, and to my surprise, we got in within 30 mins of being put on the waitlist. Service was great and the food even better. We tried some new items including the shrimp pad kee mao (a kick of spice but it was delish! They also generously put 6 shrimps in one portion), the pineapple chicken fried rice (beautifully presented and a generous portion), beef massaman curry (re-ordered this as it's our favourite), the raspberry greek yogurt cheesecake (too sweet for my liking but the waitress did say that it was sweet so we should've ordered something else but it was not bad regardless) and the mango ice cream. Chiang Mai is one of my favourite halal spots for good Thai food. I recently checked out their new Mississauga location for dine-in. I loved the convenience of having complimentary valet service. The interiors are so beautiful and details are well thought of. The left side of the restaurant gives me the impression/vibe that I'm on a cruise (very relaxed and beautiful space! I loved it). The wait times were long since they were fully booked and online reservation was not available. Phone reservation was also not accepted as they were already full but they said walk in is welcome. The waitlist was quite long but we decided to wait anyway since we wanted a nice dinner and a beautiful space for an intimate celebration/special occasion. The walk-in wait ended up being about 2h15 min to get a table. We ordered the beef masamman curry, the shrimp Thai basil fried rice and the chicken pad thai. I'm not sure if it's because they were busy but the pad thai noodles were slightly hard and not very well cooked. The same thing with our fried rice, as it was slightly hard, but the portion and shrimp was quite generous so I'll give them that. The highlight for me was the beef masaman curry. It was very well cooked. We also ordered the malay bread which was a bit oily but it was good. For dessert, we got the thai tea tres leche which was delicious and the virgin mango sticky rice mocktail. Again, not sure if it's because they were too busy or if it was the lack of attention to detail on behalf of the staff that night, but I didn't end up getting my drink until after I finished my meal, and after reminding them, since they thought we already got it - they apologized for forgetting to place that order. The mention of the special occasion was also noted but forgotten. Overall, food is delicious but these little mishaps didn't make the experience top notch like I had expected and previously experienced at the Park Lawn location a few years back. The interiors and design of the restaurant are very beautiful. Would I come back? Yes because I love the food, but I hope to see some improvements on the attention to detail whether it's in the dishes or the overall customer experience. I don't think I would wait over 2 hours again to get a table though. I also found the music at the restaurant to be a little too loud as it's mixed with the sounds of people talking. I think it would create a better experience if the music is slightly lower so that it's not too much of a sensory overload. read more

We have some amazing thai food in the city but this was defos worth all the hype! My favourite is how well they do the beyond meat in the veg dishes!!! I would argue its a tad bit overpriced but I understand you're paying for ambiance. Service was great too! I'd go back for the veg options for sure ! read more

Just because it was 10pm, we were asked if we wanted to pack our food while we were still eating. More than half the restaurant was still eating their mains. Chiang Mai delivers on the hype. It checks all the boxes for a wonderful dining experience . The food is fresh, tasty and well presented. I wont touch upon the food because it was so good there will be return trips to finish the menu dish by dish. What stands out is the service. Our server was James and while we had seen menus online , he guided us on various dishes and made the experience wonderful.
