I've been to some of the best Thai restaurants in the GTA, met some of the most talented Chef/Owners, and dined on the tastiest food. Mississauga's newly opened Chiang Mai is the newest, offering authentic Thai flavours with an elegant, classy ambiance. They got everything right with this place. Gorgeous! Our evening started with some delicious appetizers that were beautifully presented. · Salmon Crudo · Crispy Soft Shell Crab · Wagyu Khao Soi Dumpling · Mango Salad · Crying Tiger Steak We made some great choices with our main courses, which included: · Chicken Islamic Noodle · Duck Panang Curry · Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken As stuffed as we were, we had to have some dessert. They were just as flavourful and attractive as the rest of our meal. · Thai Tea Tres Leches · Ube Tiramisu We enjoyed some cocktails with our meal and they were all really good, with a nice kick. · Silk Road Velvet · Milo Martini · Mango Sticky Rice Cocktail · Thai iced Tea with a Cold Foam As busy as they were, the dishes came out quickly, with staff checking on our progress regularly, refilling our water glasses, clearing used plates, and providing clean cutlery with each course. The service was impeccable! This is one of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time. Their food was truly delicious and beautiful, also Halal. The ambiance was elegant and sophisticated. Congratulations and Kudos to Chiang Mai for getting everything right!

I recently went for dinner with my sister to try out this hot and new Thai restaurant. She had a 25% coupon so we definitely wanted to try before it expired. We had reservations for 5:30 pm and were promptly taken to our table when we arrived. The restaurant is very nicely designed and I like how the booths are so cozy. My sister ordered the chicken and shrimp pad thai, and I got the crying tiger steak appetizer with a mango sticky rice mocktail. Our food came out so fast, we were impressed. For dessert, I got the mango sticky rice. It was so good and beautifully served. We will be back later this month for a birthday! PS: If you make a reservation, you have to provide your credit card information.

We went on a Thursday at 6:30pm and the place was packed with people lined up to enter. We were seated promptly as we had a reservation. There were so many staff everywhere in every role so everything was efficient. Everyone was friendly, helpful and kind. Our server, Asia, was so attentive and ensured all my dietary questions were answered and that I was happy with my food ( I ordered "medium spice" which was supposed to be mild but it was way too spicy for me Asia and the manager had it redone for me. The pineapple fried rice was better after but the tofu and veggies were still too spicy. I did not return it again but took it home for the family to eat later. The presentation of the food was beautiful. Especially the desserts. I will definitely go back again!

We arrived shortly after noon and the place was pretty full, but we managed to snag a table near the back. Neither of us was especially hungry, so we opted to share a couple of dishes. We started with one of their specials, the Shrimp Donuts. My dining companion assumed they'd be actual donuts with shrimp flavors, but this is definitely not that. It's essentially shrimp pieces shaped into a deep-fried donut. And it's good, real good. It arrived to the table piping hot, and I took a big old bite right away. The flavors are right on point, and the whole thing is enhanced by the accompanying sweet sauce. It's a terrific appetizer (although awfully expensive at $12 for four of them). For our main, we went with the Khao Soi ("Soft and crispy egg noodles, golden curry, coconut milk, spring onion, red onion, crispy shallot, lime, pickled veg") and we got that Spicy. It's a really solid version of this iconic dish. It's maybe not up there with the best adaptations I've had, but it's quite good. The broth is super flavorful and rich, while the other components are right on point. The spice level was perfect, too. The service was top notch, as well, so I have no doubt we'll be returning to Thai Barn Na at some point.

The satay chicken is a pass, pad thai is kind of sweet, and the khao soi is just fine. I will say these are on the slightly cheaper side compared to spots in Toronto (khao soi was ~$20?) Verdict: I think this place is alright for Mississauga, but being on Dundas Street, you're close to Toronto and you might as well go to a better Thai spot downtown haha.

The space was cutely decorated with Thai fabrics and had a tv screen playing videos of iconic spots in Thailand, which I thought was a cute touch. Let me first say, our server was so amazing. He was super attentive, patient, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the food. He noticed that I had a gift for my friend's birthday and he offered us a free dessert to make the day even more special. It was just so nice. He also took such great care with explaining all the options. The food itself was delicious. We both got the khao soi with chicken which were massive. Basically one dish could have fed the both of us! And the price was very reasonable. The dessert we picked was the roti pancake with Nutella and banana which was very unique and delicious as well. They also had all the other Thai classics on the menu such a pad Thai, pad see ew, and mango sticky rice. This location is in Cooksville but they do have another location in Port Credit. Not the easiest place to get to by transit but if I'm ever in the area again, I'm definitely coming back! Definitely a hidden gem in the GTA.

We ordered a couple of appys- the spring roll and the shrimp. Both so fresh and delicious. The shrimp comes with a chilli dipping sauce which was pretty delicious! For dessert, we wanted to try the mango with sticky rice but it was not available due to the season so we ended up trying the fried banana with mango ice cream. Of course that was yummy! Service throughout was attentive and unhurried, the sort of hospitality that turns newcomers into regulars. What lingers most is the room itself. Disco lighting fixtures and a tucked away stage lend the space an unexpected theatricality, as though it were built for celebration rather than mere sustenance. Despite the family's expansion into a sleeker downtown outpost, this original location retains a lived in charm no polished interior could replicate. The broth carries real depth and fragrance, the noodles handled with care, and the accompanying plates, from crisp spring rolls to grilled specialties, arrive with the consistency that keeps a neighborhood loyal for decades. This was on a Friday night and the patio was almost full. We ended up sitting on the patio, beside the in and out door. To drink I ordered the pineapple coconut martini and I was really surprised that it didn't taste strong but it was strong or maybe I felt it more because I hadn't eaten too much before that. It tasted ok but I wouldn't order it again. We ordered the Bangkok style Pad Thai with shrimp and the pineapple fried rice With chicken. We waited over 45 minutes for our food. People that arrived after us, that's two parties one party of two and another party of three to four both got their food before we did Then I saw the pineapple Fried rice come out but then they didn't bring it to our table, they brought it to the table of four and when the server was asking them about it I saw the guest gesturing to take it and then I saw the manager come out quickly and take it back from them and guess what that was actually ours. When I told the manager he just said wait a minute wait a minute and he went back but minutes went by after that and I food still didn't come out. When the manager came out the second time I said we didn't get our food yet and we've been waiting a long time and then he brought out both dishes the pineapple fried rice which by now was cold and the Bangkok style Punta which was hot. The food tasted great. The food quality is excellent. The service kind of sucked because there's not that many of us out there and they really should have noticed that we haven't got our food. We were seated just beside the door so it's not really like we're invisible because they had to pass us each time they went in and out. I'm really disappointed in the service and that the manager knowing gave us cold food that was supposed to be served hot. We probably should have sent the pineapple fried rice back. Since he knew he was giving us food that was cold by now, I suspect they wouldn't have fixed it. I'll never know. I'm really disappointed to have this experience. I took one star off because our food took so long to come out and other tables who came after us for served before us. I took another star off was because our food got served to another table initially and that table even accepted it. And the last star I took off because when I told the manager I think it was ours and it was, he didn't listen and said one minute but it did still didn't come out after that. I had to ask again and then he brought out the same dish that was served to another table and I know that's true because it was cold. The manager knew this and still served it to us. Shame on you.
