It's was nothing but peppers onions and mushrooms. Only thing going for it was it was nice and spicy. I questioned this with the server and was blown off and told it's the portion and that's it. Took about 40 minutes just to get waters on the table. It was not busy at this time, I did not receive silverware even when I asked for silverware and no napkins. We were at my God son's birthday at Film Alley and we got hungry. My gf suggested this Thai spot that was in the area and it was conveniently close by so we decide to try. When we walked in the decor was a bit overwhelming, like they tried too hard. You couldn't set your eyes on any one piece. So we got the crab Rangoon, crab fried rice and pad see eu noodles. We order a spice level 2 on the crab fried rice, but it was spicier then the usual that we ordered at other Thai restaurant. It also seemed a bit odd because the crab was just sitting on top rather then cooked inside with the rice. The crab had no flavor and didn't seem fresh. We also ordered level 2 spice on the noodles, but again it was too spicy. Both dishes were meh and weren't very flavorful. The server wasn't attentive. Walked in craving shrimp fried rice to-go. The waitress there seemed liked she wanted to be anywhere but there. I paid with a $20 bill and she asked if I wanted my change. I said no and she disappeared to the back and I never saw her again. I sat patiently and waited 20 minutes for an order that should've taken no longer than 5 minutes. A couple entered and after no one helped them, they decided to seat themselves at the bar. Another family came in and waited to be seated. They waited awhile and finally another young lady emerged from the back to seat them. I was becoming impatient and finally the same lady that seated the family came to ask me what I was waiting for. I told her my name and order and she went to go grab it. FINALLY! The food smelled good, but the taste was horrible. The rice was bland, the shrimp was extremely overcooked, and the chili oil may as well have been melted crayola. Overall a terrible experience. Was in a mood for spiced up Thai food. Chiangmai Thai Kitchen, named for the largest city in Northern Thailand, but also is home to the beat Thai in the DFW area. Started off with a bottle of Singha beer which has a slight bitter taste and it was served in a cold mug. It paired nice with the Tom Yum with shrimp. Then moved onto the Cashew Nut platter super spiced. Along with another Singha, which again paired nicely. Food was very fresh. Had an awesome taste with the sauce. 2 stars because it's too sad to give just one. I'd been waiting for the place to open for awhile. Saw that it was and canceled other dinner plans to eat here. The decor is great inside the restaurant. It is vibrant with so many Thai inspired items to look at. It was packed but still had some empty tables. Someone greeted me right away and I placed a takeout order for pad woo sen (glass noodles) with tofu and pork and a Honeydew Boba Tea. I sat there for over an hour waiting on my food. Thirty minutes in, I was given the Boba tea. I have never had bad boba until this. The pearls were hardened and created a weird texture in my mouth instead of being al dente. I tried to just be happy I had something because I was really hungry. I tried to drink it without getting the pearls, but that didn't work so I just sat it to the side and waited some more. Then the lady that took my order comes and says she didn't charge me enough and needed to charge me an extra $4 or so. I was concerned but agreed. She couldn't figure out how to just charge me the $4.... I decided to tell her about the tea especially since I was being asked now to pay more for what is likely to be my worst restaurant experience. I told her if the batch of boba was bad, just skip it. She insisted on bringing another. This time the boba was fresh... too fresh. They were hot which made them soft and gummy. They warmed the tea and the ice quickly melted. She asked if it was okay. I couldn't bear to complain again so I nodded and kept it. Worst boba...ever and I love boba. While I waited, I observed that they didn't have enough staff. There were four that I saw for the full restaurant. People were coming in and waiting. People were sitting with no food. The waitress was apologizing a lot. When the food came they tried again to charge me the extra $4. I said okay, but mentioned that I had left a tip so the difference was really like $2. They still couldn't figure out how to charge it. He said he would cancel and rerun my card. I was really concerned. I told him that I had waited for this food for over an hour. Yeah, cancel the charge so I can definitely not leave a tip this time... He decided to leave it as it was. I was flustered when I left. A lady in the parking lot asked me if they were even there because she had been calling with no answer. I told her they were short staffed. She left. To top it all off... the glass noodles were subpar which really disappointed me. The pork that they were trying to charge me extra for was flavorless and pale. Tofu was good but it only had a few pieces. Better Thai options close by in Forney. I am hoping they can pull it together and improve. read more

The restaurant is overly decorated to the point of almost being cluttered. We sat there and read the full menu. Put them aside and had some good conversation. That whole time nobody even approached our table. No drink orders or I will be right will you. Other people came in and were seated orders taken. We probably sat there 15 minutes. After we left we realized we left eye glasses in there. I went back in and I don't think they even noticed we left. Our menus were still sitting at the edge of the table. This was very disappointing. Within 15 minutes of me eating, my throat started to feel mucus and scratchy (only happens with dairy and MSG products) . So I asked again with the exception this time, if there's dairy as well. I've been to all of their locations and tbh, none of them are really stellar. It's just ok. Prices are a little high, quality is mediocre, portions aren't the best and service is consistently crappy. I don't think any of their employees at any of their locations are happy. Call in orders are always difficult because they rarely answer. Visit to the Terrell location yesterday was exactly the same. I got onto the highway and one of their workers called me and wanted me to pull over on the highway to check my food. The server was extremely friendly and quick in refilling our drinks and providing services. The food was incredible. I was skeptical about finding good Thai food in Terrell but they do it right. I had the pineapple rice plate with chicken and shrimp, along with spring rolls that had a delicious peanut sauce. My wife had the coconut soup with spice, shrimp onions and mushroom. Nice interior, not good food. Honestly ashamed at this place. False advertising the eggrolls they have a pic of in their menu and it tasted like buffet eggrolls, different wrap and flavor not it. Chicken satay was dry and bland and not the right cut. OVERPRICED sticky rice forsure. They give you so little like you could barely have it for half your entrée plate, and I ordered the Nam tok beef which I didn't even touch cause I wasn't going to risk paying for more food that wasn't worth it. What a surprise we got when we walked in the door here tonight. I thought it was an "order at the counter" type of place. Wrong. It's a wonderfully decorated sit down restaurant with booths and tables. The decor was really pretty. Our server got our drinks and orders quickly and our food was served within 10 minutes.
