I usually also get the honey walnut shrimp when I want something a little sweeter to balance everything out, but if you're trying this place for the first time, you really can't go wrong with the dry fried chicken and Szechuan spicy beef. Every single dish we ordered lacked flavor. The dishes/meats were seasoned on the outside, but bland on the inside. Like there was no internal flavor penetration. So the quality of each dish was lacking. Didn't taste any Szechuan flavors in the Szechuan chicken wings. The crispy pork chop dish was actual pork ribs, which was a disappointment. How could a dish with so much onion and garlic still lack flavor? The fried salt and pepper fish tasted like baking soda. The beef skewers were good in terms of price and portion size. There were lots of seasonings on top but still lacked flavor inside the meat. I was also disappointed they charge $2 each for rice but put all 4 orders in a medium sized bowl. 4 individual bowls of rice would have equaled to way more than what was given. To share between 2 people we got the Spicy Boiled Beef, Chili Wontons, and Chinese Eggplant with Garlic Sauce. Loved the Spicy Boiled Beef which was my favorite dish and such a classic. The beef is super tender and there is a ton of napa and bean sprouts in the spicy broth. Chili Wontons and Chinese Eggplant were good as well and I though the portions were fairly large overall. While everything was tasty, I wish the dishes were actually spicer and it did feel quite heavy after. Delicious and authentic Sichuan food to satisfy your spice cravings! FYI my review is for large takeout order. I placed an online order for like 11 dishes including a small size party tray for their house fried rice. I arrived about 15 mins early and it was already packed up and prepared. The staff were surprised at the order but were super lovely and helpful. I'm glad I tipped them ahead because it is a lot of work to put the dishes together in boxes for safe transport. Not all restaurants will do that for you btw. Anyways on to the food, everything was so good. Highlights were the chicken wings, mapo tofu, sichuan spicy beef, and the boiled fish w pickled cabbage! My party included Chinese, Burmese, korean people and they all loved the food. I do wish they clarified what meat to go with the fried rice because online there was no option so I added a comment to include chicken. It came out w all meat options (beef, chicken, vegetables and shrimp) which is honestly a great thing, but i have folks who don't eat beef. That was probably the most unfortunate thing. We ordered the mapo tofu, Szechuan spicy fish, sesame chicken, and Szechuan spicy chicken wings. Our favorite was the Szechuan spicy fish which is a staple and must try at all Szechuan restaurants. The bean sprouts and Napa cabbage in the boiled chili were extremely flavorful. Our other favorite was the sesame chicken which was crispy and covered in a sweet & sour sauce! The chicken wings were alright, they had a really nice crisp to them, but they were a bit dry and the inside had no flavor(maybe not marinated for long enough?). When we walked in, we seated ourselves. The place is pretty small, with around 10 tables, so if you have a larger group, it's probably best to call ahead. We ordered three dishes: - pea sprouts with garlic - mapo tofu - cumin beef I do wish they had told us the pea sprouts weren't fresh or offered a different veggie, as they were old and tough. We ended up having to spit out every bite, which made it really unenjoyable. The mapo tofu was good, though the sauce was thicker than I'm used to but it still paired well with rice. Hidden Gem! I stumbled upon this place on Yelp, the online photos lead me here. The fish with pickled cabbage had a nice kick to it. The broth was super tasty and it came with glass noodles, I could have eaten this like a noddle soup and finish the entire big ass bowl myself! It was that good.
