Everything we ordered was delicious! Small hole in the wall restaurant with plenty of dishes to choose from. Highly recommend getting the wings. I personally like the wet coated wings and it is comparable to San Tungs but without the wait/crowd. I also recommend the Mapo Tofu. Rice was 2 dollars per person with unlimited refills. Service was good and the waitress seemed amicable and delighted to serve. Restaurant was mostly full on a weekend for dinner although I don't think there was a line. Probably my only complaint is that the food seems to have a good amount of sodium in it. So I highly recommend ordering rice to eat with the food to balance it out. As a matter of fact, the rice tastes incredible when you get the sauces of the dishes mixed into it. Also be prepared, because although the food isn't overly spicy, you will likely be eating a couple dishes that are spicy and will feel the kick stack up hence why they call it Spicy House! Finally, the price per person came out to be very reasonable for eating out these days. There is a small discount if you pay with cash. Basil Pork Chow Fun: Unfortunately, this was my least favorite dish. It was really lacking in flavor and definitely needed more sauce. The noodles were basically just stir-fried with basil and chilies, but that alone wasn't enough to give it flavor. I ended up using the sauce from the beef dish to add flavor because the noodles were lacking. They do have sauces available at the table, but I feel like the dish itself should already be seasoned from the get go. I also wasn't a huge fan of the noodle type because it wasn't the typical chow fun noodle I'm used to. Mapo Tofu: I usually expect Mapo tofu to have some level of spice and a little kick, but this one didn't really have that. Instead, it was mostly just salty. I love salty dishes, but this was even too salty for me and felt like it was missing other flavors, maybe some sweetness or more complexity. I also wish it came with more ground pork and sauce. The tofu pieces were larger than what I'm used to for this dish, which I didn't necessarily mind, but because there wasn't much sauce, the tofu didn't really absorb the flavors the way I like. Szechuan Spicy Beef: This was easily my favorite dish of the three. It had the most flavor, a lot of sauce, and the beef was very tender. I loved that it had the numbing Szechuan spice without being overwhelmingly spicy, so you could still enjoy the dish. I actually wished the Mapo tofu had this same level of spice and flavor. This was the one dish I would order again if I came back. Overall: Since I didn't really enjoy two out of the three dishes we ordered, I don't think I would return. There wasn't anything that stood out enough that made me want to come back and try more dishes, especially since two dishes were lacking flavor. We ordered a variety of foods. beef chow fun, chow mein noodles, their signature dry fried chicken and fish filet spicy soup, eggplant with pork, green onion pancake appetizer, dried fried string beans with beef, sesame chicken and garlic pork chops. The standout was the spicy fish soup. Had some kind of turmeric taste and the red peppers gave it a nice kick. We probably overwhelmed the staff as there was only one waiter and we noticed the room capacity was 49 patrons which we met. So the quality of each dish was lacking. Didn't taste any Szechuan flavors in the Szechuan chicken wings. The crispy pork chop dish was actual pork ribs, which was a disappointment. How could a dish with so much onion and garlic still lack flavor? The fried salt and pepper fish tasted like baking soda. The beef skewers were good in terms of price and portion size. There were lots of seasonings on top but still lacked flavor inside the meat. I was also disappointed they charge $2 each for rice but put all 4 orders in a medium sized bowl. 4 individual bowls of rice would have equaled to way more than what was given. I placed an online order for like 11 dishes including a small size party tray for their house fried rice. I arrived about 15 mins early and it was already packed up and prepared. The staff were surprised at the order but were super lovely and helpful. I'm glad I tipped them ahead because it is a lot of work to put the dishes together in boxes for safe transport. Not all restaurants will do that for you btw. Anyways on to the food, everything was so good. Highlights were the chicken wings, mapo tofu, sichuan spicy beef, and the boiled fish w pickled cabbage! My party included Chinese, Burmese, korean people and they all loved the food. I do wish they clarified what meat to go with the fried rice because online there was no option so I added a comment to include chicken.
