I recently learned two things. The first is never go with the service the manufacturer recommends. They were going to charge me $125 just to come out. Second is call Chicago Appliance Service. From the first call to the last interaction they were fast, helpful, and kind. That's what you want, right? People that treat you right and help you solve the problem. I called when office opened at 9 AM and told a technician would call in 30 mins to schedule. I received no call after 1 hr so I called back. I was told they would reach out to a technician to call me. I received a call 30 mins later by a Supervisor asking about my washing machine issue and again I would be contacted by technician to schedule. I asked when the technician would call and if would be available today? He I did not know. This was at 10:30 AM. By 2 PM I received no technician call. I was able to schedule with another company the same day. I called back this company to cancel but no apologies. This is not a reliable company. read more

Worst company I've dealt with in years!!!!!!! They will take your money and leave you 6-8 weeks lingering with no service, just a complete run around. They left me high and dry for thanksgiving. Completely inconsiderate. Then they have the audacity to charge me for a guy to spend 2 mins to say my compressor wasn't working. Im fine with the charge, just get the repair done! They are the most incompetent people Ive ever came across. They can not simply follow a link to fill out to simply order a FREE warranty part or they refuse to so they can scam me so I would be forced to buy their part. They gave me a runaround so good they actually told me they have the part successfully ordered, I scheduled time off work to have it put in and then to find out they never fill out the request for the warranty part. Trash of a company. You couldn't pay me to do business with those scammer. read more

The first time I used them they were great, reasonable price and fixed quickly. This Time they quoted me a over $300 for a simple fix. Literally twice the normal rate and they were done in 30 mins and the part was $30 on Amazon. Ugh! I was already on the hook for a service charge and they were already there so I felt obligated to go forward. Will definitely use a different place next time. This company is amazing! My Viking Range has not worked this well in 11 years! Kevin is a fantastic technician who correctly analyzed our issue, ordered the parts and installed them correctly. I had the very same issue several years ago (two times in 11 years) and other companies supposedly fixed the problem, but the range continued to have problems. By-pass the others and go directly to Chicago Appliance Service, the real experts if you have a Viking range. read more

I called to request service on my stove. Since I thought my stove was malfunctioning, I turned off the gas and unplugged it. It was determined that nothing was wrong, so I plugged it back in, and I thought I had turned on the gas, but Rich informed me that it was still off. Called them to check out a refrigerator for our place in Chicago. Without performing any of the required checks - they didn't even pull the refrigerator away from the wall! - they declared that it needed a new compressor (the most expensive part), and quoted me around $ 1100 for the repair. They charged me for the service call, but never gave me the receipt; they only sent a text image of the paperwork. Calling their main office was useless - apparently, the field techs don't actually report to a central location and there is no real supervision at all. Having some family history in appliance repair, I knew this was bogus, as confirmed by another service company that correctly identified a failure of the evaporator coil defroster. A few hundred dollars later, and ON THE ORIGINAL COMPRESSOR, the refrigerator is running fine. read more

OMG!!! I actually happened upon this company by accident. My normal repair man did a horrible job with my request for service from Nov. 21st. The issue was my washing machine wasn't turning on (pull the knob and water didn't start running). I called Chicago Appliance service less than 24 hours ago and I have had two confirmation calls for service and Adrian at my door 15min early! To top off the professionalism all around, when he arrived he asked me if I would like him to put some shoe covers on (you know because we just had winter storm Bruce, & it's snow and ice outside). I really appreciated that. I had just cleaned my hardwood floors for the holidays and I didn't have to ask him to remove his shoes! Lol!! I found this company on Angie's List after the washer/dryer company I used for years informed me they didn't provide service on "stackables". I was very nervous using someone I did not know to fix my dryer but it was an emergency and I needed to do something - well, these guys are awesome. Left a message and then was contacted shortly by a company representative who said a technician would call to schedule an appointment. Waited all day Wed and most of Thurs but never received a phone call. Gave up late on Wed and called another service who came out first thing on Friday and made the necessary repair on our LG washer. read more

Don't hang up when the Dispatch puts you on hold. Said my refrigerator/freezer wasn't keeping things frozen. The Dispatch said one of two guys would call me back in 10-15 minutes. David did and said he could come out today and would call me 20 minutes in advance. He was courteous and professional. He said the part needed wasn't made anymore and they cost well over $600. He apologized for the bad news but said I should look into used refurbished refrigerators and told me the general area to look. He said I could use dry ice which he knows a company that delivers to keep food cold. If any other appliance needs repair I will call Chicago Appliance Service Company. read more
