Chicago Performance has been my go-to motorcycle shop for a long time. It was actually the first shop I went to about 10 years ago, and I'll keep going there as long as I have a motorcycle. Most recently, I had tires changed on two bikes, a chain replaced, a general look-over, and a complete fork rebuild. The pricing was reasonable, the turnaround time was perfect, and I really appreciated getting pictures during the service showing what was being replaced. So happy I took my 2009 FZ1 here. Ken installed new springs in the front forks, set the suspension up and tossed on new grips. Super fast turn around. He knows what he's doing. Ken is GREAT! thumbs up! I ordered some SIDI boots from here a couple of months ago. The store didn't have my size so he ordered them and they came in the next week. FANTASTIC! If I lived a little closer, I would probably be in his store more often, but Chicago Perfomance's prices are competitive with the industry. Customer service is great here as well. Small store, but they carry lots of great gear. Keep an eye out for it as well as you might miss it while driving by -- it is on the north side of the street. great store. I was not disappointed. I give it 5 stars. I had my CBR1100RR towed in and back. I hadn't ridden it since 2010 and he got everything up to speed. We did miss the gas cap, which was rusted shut, but I'm getting that fixed tomorrow. I can't wait to take my bike to work on Monday. Hoooaaah. Highly recommend !!!!! read more

Take it from me and other truthful reviews. Ordered a pair of boots, which did not arrive for over two weeks. At least they arrived. I will give them that. However, their ebay ad stated shipping insurance was optional, but when paying it was required. I emailed to ask them about the discrepency over five times but was ignored. They did not ship the item for over a week so I called and asked them to refund the "optional" insurance amount. They said that was not possible since it was shipped. I asked for the shipping information and they said it would ship that day.. Interesting contradiction..but I let it go because I just wanted my boots. They also did not seem concerned that their ebay auction was misleading. They misled UPS as well stating a one pound package when it was obviously not. I would not be surprised if they did not insure it either. Anyway, after I received the boots almost a month later I left a truthful review on ebay stating the boots arrived, but citing terrible customer service and experience. They responded by accusing me of being non paying bidder. Pretty immature and stupid since we have a paper trail of paypal payments, UPS tracking, etc. I just wanted to warn other motorcyclists about these a** hats. They do not deserve your hard earned money. Please share your experiences so others do not fall victim to unethical shops such as Chicago Performance. read more

chicago performance is definitely an asset to the sportbike community. ken really knows his stuff when it comes to motorcycles. we've placed a few special orders with him (jacket, boots, various parts, etc.) and they've always arrived on time and as promised. his prices are quite competitive and are usually less expensive than the merchandise you find on some of the larger online sites. i would rather take my business to someone local who gives me a great deal than play the waiting game with some unknown entity 1000+ miles away. chicago performance sells pre-owned motorcycles and has a full service department, but they are really known for their amazing custom modifications and paint. seriously beautiful work. a convenient central location makes it easy for both city and suburban folks to get to. if you're into sportbikes, definitely check them out. read more

Ok....This might be the worst business known to man. I so wish that Yelp gave out zeros...or even negative numbers. I purchased a bike from this place...first mistake...They didn't take card and wanted cash. They then totally screwed me over on taxes, which I found out later...basically they charged me a hefty sales tax, but I found out from the city later that this not true and that I had to pay the city a NEW tax since I bought it out of Chicago limits...so these guys dicked me this way. It rode well, but I noticed that the headlight was out, the battery was not holding a charge very well, and the handle bars were slightly skewed, and it was backfiring and lagging a bit. Nothing big, but the worker assured me that they would take care of it no problem when I brought it in to get serviced and tuned up....second mistake. He charged me for the headlight, which he said he wouldn't...didn't fix the handlebars, and said he gave me a new battery...I later found out he didn't....after getting the "tune up", which cost way too much compared to other places I went, I stored it for the winter. This spring, I took it out...did the usual spring things to it and started to ride. 2 weeks later it was backfiring again and lagging. I brought it to my new tuner who is the greatest and he said that I need the carbs rebuild!!! Chicago Performance never even did a tune up!!! They didn't even check the carbs or the timing at all!!! which was the biggest problem I had when I went in to get services. Needless to say, my new guy fixed the handlebars, I watched him put a new battery in and he rebuild the carbs to race quality all for lower than what Chicago Performance charged me for a tune up....I HATE this place and will NEVER go back and will ONLY tell EVERYONE I KNOW to stay far far away.... read more

You can even call him and BS with him on the phone about your bike and ask for advice. Don't be fooled by the exterior or how small it looks, the shop is nothing but professional. Ken makes you feel comfortable leaving your bike in for repair. Went by the shop for the third time this season to purchase parts and get them installed. Ken has very competitive pricing and very quick turn around time for service. Ken had the chain I needed in stock, levers only took a couple of days to arrive, and got a good deal on a Q2 rear tire. I'll be back for any maintenance I need done to my Triumph. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM. I bought a pair of boots - via EBAY - and ended up getting shafted BIG TIME. They never delivered the BOOTS or responded in any way. I had my $500+ in limbo for almost a month. COMPLETE TRANSACTIONAL DISRESPECT. THEY NEVER RESPONDED, AND EBAY HAD TO INTERVENE FOR ME TO GET MY MONEY BACK. Then - the EBAY store they had - disappeared "no longer a registered user" PATHETIC....! Unless you want to have a BIG HASSLE on your hands, do not get involved with them. read more

Satisfied? Not!!!! This guy took my bike in and said give him a week to look at it and that week turned into almost 2 months (April/June). Never giving me and update on any work that was being done or even calling to inform me of what was wrong. I asked for a estimate, never received one. When I finally got fed up I went to pick my bike up it was not even at the shop. Found out he had dumped my bike in the back of his house. I have serious rain damage to my custom paint job. The bike was not even repaired. It's still leaking gas but I was forced to pay (police/called in by myself and owner). You could very well see the bike was not repaired but they said(police) that if he says he repaired it I had to pa--. File a claim against him if you are not satisfied. WOW!!!! Women this is not the place to bring your bike/he has no respect for your love of riding and will put your bike behind all his biker club friends unless of course you bring a guy maybe then he will give you proper service. read more

Had a very unpleasant experience with these folks. They claim "best prices" which aren't bad, but with a little searching can be met or bettered, shipping time was decent, but was charged almost 3 times the actual cost with the items poorly packed. Luckily through no fault of theirs there was no damage. When I questioned them about the excessive shipping they proceeded to tell me how lucky I was to have saved so much money off the retail prices (who cares about retail prices - this was eBay) and so what that I paid almost 3 times the actual shipping rate. Plus it also appears that they regularly try to defraud UPS as they claimed a 16 pound package only weighed 1 pound on the printed shipping label. It would seem to me that they're only interested in the bottom line with little regard to customer service or customer satisfaction. They offer decent prices, but make their profit off of overcharged shipping and a 25% restocking fee. Before buying from them do a little searching, you can do better with someone that actually deserves your business. Also, beware of FALSE CLAIMS they'll file against you should you have the nerve to leave a NEGATIVE FEEDBACK with eBay. read more
