I sent a message via Yelp on a Sunday night and they immediately scheduled our oven troubleshooting for Monday afternoon. Their front office staff is incredibly responsive! George (technician) arrived timely and was very thorough. He explained things to me every step of the way. He is approaching this very methodically - ok, so it's not the igniter, let's look at the next link in the chain... I saw George called out by name in other Yelp reviews, and I understand why he comes so highly recommended! He called the manufacturer to discuss his findings, but the manufacturer tech team wasn't available. He let me know he would be calling them again in the morning and that he would reach out to me with an update. I've had plenty of negative or so-so experiences with other service technicians from other companies. This experience with George / Astera is so positive that I'm posting my review even before the service is completed. Astera will be getting first crack at all of my appliance and HVAC service calls going forward.

Brett and Cam have been to our 30yo home so many times for repairs that we don't even have to show them where to go. They have repaired the humidifier, the sump pump, and leaking bathroom tubs (twice when the wall repair guy messed up), and replaced an old water heater with a tankless water heater. Their assessments are above quick concise and easy to understand. Their scheduling is the best in the business and their customer service is what I strive for in my own business. We will keep them on speed dial (is there even such a thing anymore ) for any future plumbing needs.

Daniel the service technician opened the unit up and tested everything. He took the time to explain what he was doing and why. He discovered a bare wire that had been chewed (possibly by a mouse) and was touching the metal housing which tripped the circuit breaker. Daniel replaced the wire and the unit is working perfectly. The honesty and integrity of this company is refreshing. We will not hesitate to use them again and recommend them to all our friends.

My entire cooling and heating system was left in an inoperable state…read more I called for a diagnostic of the air conditioner today because cool air isn't coming from the vents. I was told the diagnostic would cost $149. I asked to be informed of any repairs that had to be done. Technician checked the system and recommended replacing unit. We discussed replacement unit and cost. I was ready to pay deposit. In the next 10 minutes I was told that the model I selected is old and not available. New model costs $1000 more. I asked for a proposal to decide later. Technician told me that the visit costs $396. He said that he fixed air conditioner that was not working. He never told me that he is fixing anything. Through our the visit it looked like he was figuring out the problem. I talked to the owner and we agreed that any repairs that were done will be undone so that I do not have to pay for repairs. Then the technician removed all the wires from the board making both heat and fan unusable. He did not just undo the "repairs", but made entire system unusable including fan and heat which were working before his visit. See the photos to show what was done!

Said he put in a new wire (although had no confidence that was the problem) and was working now but that it was really random. So didn't know if it would be fixed and ordered a circuit board. He seemed very unsure. I've had my furnace serviced before (by another company) so I'm not a newbie. A cleaning wasn't ruled out but more expensive fixes were immediately tried, like he had no clue but would try, I don't know... I called another company because I felt this was obviously poor service, maybe even a scam. Ans as I suspected it needed to be cleaned and a faulty sensor (a minor repair) was put in. And at a very reasonable price. I was left with the impression that I was being taken advantage by Charles McDuffee Co. or that an untrained or poorly trained person came. I will never use McDuffy for anything. EVER. Definitely the worst service repair I've ever experienced as a home owner for over 40 years!
