In May 2023, Chicagoland Pergolas and Pavilions built a pavilion over my existing backyard patio. I am well beyond satisfied with the pavilion Chicagoland Pergolas and Pavilions build. I have enjoyed this structure all summer and know that I will enjoy it for many years to come. The end result far exceeded my expectations. From my initial contact with owner John O'Brien back in March, all members were outstanding. All of my questions were answered promptly, the permit process went smoothly, and great suggestions were made regarding options and stain color. Once construction started, carpenters Levi and John (not the owner) were terrific. The cement piers were poured on Monday, and construction took place over 2 1/2 days later in the week. Levi and John are very skilled carpenters and worked very hard on my project. They put in 2 very long days, and returned for a few hours on Friday to add the corner braces. As they worked, I was impressed that they never looked at a blueprint or plan! Coincidentally, my neighbor had a gazebo built at the same time my pavilion was being constructed. After seeing the finished product in my yard, he said he wished he had hired the same crew that I did! John responded very quickly to my inquiry about installing a pergola on our garage deck, which is south facing so gets crazy intense sun. He provided several options together with pictures, and came within a week to inspect our garage deck to verify what options worked. The foreman, Levi, was on time, polite, professional and the crew worked quickly, but carefully. My wife is a structural engineer and was curious about the whole process. The crew was happy to work with her and answer all questions. The final product is awesome. The quality of the wood is clearly high, the shade provided is excellent, even in the hottest part of the day, and the price was (by far) the best quote we got. It's hard enough to get contractors to respond to emails and get quotes. This was next level great service. After the construction was done, John followed up to make sure everything was to our liking and asked for suggestions of how to improve their service. The quality of materials and workmanship are top notch. Levi and Jared completed the installation in one day. They did quality work, were very polite and they were very careful with my property. Except for our new pergola you would have never known any construction had taken place - all scrap materials were cleaned up and disposed of properly. Recently we enjoyed grilling outside during a storm, including hail, and then just sat back, relaxed and watched the storm. Next, they were able to come out for a home estimate within days. Soon after we received the quote when **** said he'd have it by. IMO it was completely fair pricing, plenty of decorative/building options with pictures, and a detailed plan on how they'd build our pergola and length of the project. If it wasn't for the uncooperative weather, they would've completed the project in the 1.5 days.
