Not sure why there's so many great reviews . The food was good but not great and the service was mediocre. The portion sizes are good but the prices are on the spendy side. The house margarita was average but quite small for $15. The salsa flight sounded good but was meh, none were really hot but that's not unusual for Oregon. This is the best Mexican food that i've found while living in Oregon so far! Everything is fresh, and authentic, i was informed the chips were made here in house! I love the quessabira quesadilla, it's massive and great to share. If you are coming just for drinks the new Chicali Moroccan coffee is amazing, but i'd also recommend the blackberry margarita, as it's the perfect blend without it being too sweet! Finally a really good restaurant in the area! My husband and I were so pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed ourselves. The owners are so lovely and attentive. I love when people not only tell you what's good, but also maybe things to avoid. Our waitress was a sweetheart. The margs are delicious. I DO NOT like sweet margaritas and these were perfectly made. And the food! We got the lettuce tostada, birria taco and a carnitas street taco. All were perfectly made. The salsa selection is excellent and I would highly recommend the spicy green salsa. Lastly the banana rum tres leches cake. Out of this world! Get the rum pairing. You will not be disappointed. Best Mexican food on the Mountain. Huge burritos are a bargain. The rest of the menu is a bit expensive but the food is top notch. The elevated Mexican dishes would do well even in Portland maybe even San Diego. Six different scratch made salsas and 2 kinds of guacamole get the party started. Excellent braised meats form the backbone of this menu. Chicken and shrimp supported by a pallet of scratch sauces and moles round out the other dishes. Service can be spotty during peak periods but owners appear to be hiring new staff ASAP. Everyone is friendly and the owner is often seen meeting customers. Don't miss the brunch and special dinners. A recent Father's Day 5-course beer tasting dinner was outstanding. Small but efficient beer list. Good margaritas and cocktails. Live music on weekends with a big covered patio and lottery. I really liked this place. The atmosphere was relaxing. We sat on the patio. The patio has misters I guess where we were sat was the prime place to get pummeled with water. The owner quickly sprang into action to save the day. By the time our drinks came we were dry. (It was hot out) The mole enchiladas is very delicious with a nice spice profile. The pineapple salsa was really good and refreshing after a long day hiking. The service was wonderful. The place filled up at the same time so it took a minute to get our drinks and food but it was understandable for how many tables came in at the same time. We will definitely be back. My kid got the salad substitute shrimp for protein that looked like the best salad. My kid wouldn't share. My eldest ordered the meat burrito. He finished it! (He is the pickiest the kitchen accommodated perfectly. I ordered two tacos quesabariria and Al pastor with beans. Al pastor was yummy! And the beans are spot on. The ambiance of the place is very beautiful. It also has outside dining with a fire place. We were seated at a very awkward table for 4 people where we had to lean in the whole time to eat; it would have been fine if it was just for drinks. The waiters were nice but our order was not taken for 25 minutes. The food was not good for authentic Mexican food. This is the first time I've ever had to pay for chips and salsa ($12) at a Mexican restaurant, however I understand it is a flight. The food was poorly seasoned and rather bland. Great new Mexican restaurant on the mountain! We made reservations, but really didn't need them as we arrived around 3:30pm on a Thursday. I definitely recommend reservations on a Friday or Saturday though. I've seen this place PACKED on days when it's a "tourist thick" day of the week. Their salsa flight and smashed guacamole was great! We ordered multiple tacos to try as much as possible and the beef tacos (ESPECIALLY the crisp hard tacos & birria) were our favorites. Their birria is beef, NOT the traditional goat which I was thankful for because I'm a goat mom and can't eat my loved ones. Well seasoned and tasty options! Awesome ambiance. Lively & well thought out decor. Super friendly staff. Bitchin cocktails. Holy guacamole, this place is super delicious! So fresh! So full of flavor. The guacamole is a big winner, topped with queso fresco, roasted corn. We ended up ordering a second one. Tortilla chips are fresh with no old oil flavor that's so common. We had birria and carne asada tacos. Lots of flavor, salsas we're perfect. I will start this off by saying "I'm a local". This is the second time we've been to this establishment. The first time was about a month ago. They were extremely busy. Food and service was good. This last time was a Friday evening, not as busy surprisingly. We were seated right away and our server was prompt at taking our drink and food order. The food was brought out and was good. Our waitress came back and asked if we wanted another drink. We said we were fine and she told my husband "it looks like you're milking your beer". What does that mean?? We got seated quickly and knew what we wanted to eat and drink. That was a wrap in 5 minutes. It wasn't busy so we (2 of us) expected beverages within 10 minutes. More like 25. Food arrived 10 later. Or part of the food. Street tacos don't take long, rice and beans are usually on standby. Took another 15 to have an opportunity to ask about them. The tacos and beans were good. The Spanish rice was dry and crunchy. The house margs were ok. This is 2nd time out of 4 or 5 that things were sub-par. I don't think we'll go back. If you order to go they take the liberty of making it in the microwave for you. Spent 50 dollars on soggy fries, the microwave they used only melted the cheese at the top so the bottom are very dry and soggy at the same time. Also got a burrito that tasted like nothing. I picked up my food within 10 minutes of when they told me to get there, and took it straight home (5 minutes), so I don't know why it would all be so horribly soggy. read more

The marg was impressively good (& strong) - food had very generous portions & was really good. They make 6 salsas in house and the 2 we tried were spot on as well.
