They were, in general, a bit slow paced. But no complaints. We were a large group and they dealt with us well. The menu covers an array of Indian classics that most Americans would be familiar with, with appetizers, drinks, meat, and veggie options. The food was served nicely. Pricing was as on the upper average side, but the portions were good. The food tasted good, but it wasn't super classic in flavor. The mango tikka was unique but delicious. We ordered the two curry special online for about $40 at 5:30 with an expected pick up of 6:00, it wasn't actually ready until 6:45. Many patrons dining-in didn't have food, so maybe we were among the Monday dinner rush or maybe this is how the business runs here. Upon entering the business, one of the waiters seemed confident that our order wasn't ready, without first asking what our order number or name was or directing us to the area for which we would pick up. The two entrees themselves were good, spice level on par, chicken breast chunks well cut, the rice sides filled the containers and were tender and well seasoned. Have only tried Indian food once and we were not impressed, but this place scores on the taste and quality of food. Service was quick and knowledgeable about the dishes. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating and you are pleasantly greeted at the door by staff. Recommend take-out service only! We had amazing 5/5 food but the service was 1/5 stars. Absolutely terrible. We made a "reservation" ahead of time for a group of 7 and our server forgot drinks and one of our entrees and never circled back to check in. Despite waving him down he never checked if we had everything we needed and if we wanted anything else. At one point he made the impatient gesture of "hurry up" with his hands as someone in our group hesitated between two menu options. We asked for a refund on our money and they said No Refunds. So we waited another 30 minutes and walked out less $130 and no food. This is a cute place that was nicely decorated. Food was fantastic. We ordered the goat biryani, paneer pakora, and masala chai. Chai was housemade and had a wonderful spice blend. This might be the only Indian/Pakistani restaurant in the area; could be that they don't have to work too hard for the business. Sadly, it shows. The food is ok, but there's no love in it, and we felt like we were more of a burden than paying guests. I would order the fish pakora, samosa chaat, and garlic naan again; pass on the rest. The sauce for the butter chicken was delicious, but the chicken was dry. Saag paneer was ok. Paratha was crispy, but not buttery like I'd hoped. The lamb biriyani tasted odd (like plastic?) and lamb wasn't as tender as it should've been. I don't eat Pakistani food often so it's possible that I'm just not used to the masala they use in the biriyani, but I found it very disappointing. The rice was very good, though. Prices are high. I know eating out is expensive these days, but we paid significantly less for more and better food at other establishments during the weekend. There aren't any alcoholic beverages on the menu, but there are beer and wine bottles and glasses behind the bar. I didn't ask for more information, but I was confused about whether alcohol is an option. I could have gotten over all the above and given them 3 stars, but I can't ignore the "I don't give a s**t" attitude from the server. We were there at noon on a Sunday...only 2 parties eating. He acted like we were an inconvenience. I can only assume he's a family member who is forced to work in the restaurant and hates every minute of it; he gave us what we needed, but wasn't the least bit welcoming. The location was prime, but you'd get customers passing through looking for something to eat. I stayed in the area a few days and decided to give it a try. Stopped in on a snowy holiday for lunch and we really loved our meal. Definitely 5 stars for the food. We got the chicken tikka masala, which was excellent, and the chicken korma, which also was excellent. They came with a saucer of rice, but it wasn't enough for 4 of us to use up both dishes, so we ordered a second dish of rice. We got the tikka masala as a medium, which was perfect and the kids really liked it; next time I would order the korma as a medium too. We also split a mango lassi (yum!) and a chai (also great). The staff person was really friendly and attentive, and the interior was nice (albeit cold after a weekend with no power on the mountain). Decided to take a drive and found an Indian gem in the woods. My waiter was attentive and the food was prepared and delivered quickly. I ordered Pappadum for a starter and Mango Chicken Tikka Masala and plain naan for my main course. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are plenty. I took at least half of the food home with me. The dinning area is quite spacious and welcoming with additional seating outside, under a tent, when the weather gets warmer. The food here is pretty good! It was our first visit and we ordered chicken biryani, butter chicken, vegetable pakoras, and garlic cheese naan to go. Everything was very flavorful and quite similar to some of the best Indian food we have had. My only critiques were that the butter chicken wasn't as tender as it could have been and I did NOT like their mint sauce. The mint sauce was extremely watery and did not have good flavor. Overall, we really did enjoy the food. However, my biggest complaint was the service! Horrendous! The guy that was taking people's orders and serving food was obviously busy, but he didn't bother to greet me and didn't bother to be friendly in any way. First of all, when I approached him telling him I had a to-go order, he immediately told me to go sit down at a table, which I thought was odd. I reiterated it was to-go and he said he had other tables to take care of first. OK, that's fine. But later, while I was ordering, he kept stepping away as if one or two items were already enough. Rude. After ordering, I left the restaurant and came back about 15 minutes later. My food was on the counter. "I'll ring you up over here," he said. Then he left. Just walked away! I finished my transaction and grabbed my own receipt. I then went to the other end of the counter to grab my food and had to wait for him to reappear. When he finally did, I asked if there were utensils and napkins in the bag. "No," he said. He grabbed them in the back, put them on the counter, and left again. No "thank you," no "have a good night." Just a jerk ... Pretty sad that this is what customer service has come to! PS: we're in the middle of nowhere and I'm clearly visiting the area.
