Chick & Sea Foods is a local institution and this joint has a great old school ambiance! This spot is a plate lunch joint that has a changing daily menu along with some constant menu items. You grab a tray and get served cafeteria style as you make your choices as you move down the line and then grab a seat. They do have staff that takes care of refilling your drink and bussing your table. You get actual silverware with an actual plate but your drink is in a styrofoam cup so you can take it to go with you if you want. Chick & Sea Foods is also VERY affordable and one of the best deals in the Foley, AL area for the amount of food you get for the price. They also offer a drive through menu if you need to get it to go and they also do to go orders inside as well. read more

First time here... had very attentive friendly service. I opted to order off menu, had the catfish sandwich and fried okra. Both very flavorful & tasty! I also indulged with a slice of homemade coconut cream pie... excellent! My guy went through the buffet line & got the fried chicken, scalloped potatoes & fried okra. All which were served hot, fresh & had great flavor! We will definitely go back...they feature different buffet items each day. read more

Service is FANTASTIC, so that has to be mentioned first and foremost! But then; the food is great, from the daily lunch specials, to the cooked-to-order feasts served after 2pm! I was hungry for seafood, so my wife & I split a Large Shrimp & Fish Combo. Ten (10) shrimp, with a bunch of tasty catfish fillets equal to two(2) fish, plus two(2) sides. Our sides were Baked Beans and Fried Okra, both of which were good. The shrimp were good, but the Catfish was excellent! More importantly; two(2) other diners and our server all agreed that the Fried Chicken was way better than the seafood! Who knew? OK, this warrants another exploratory trip!! Our entire bill - with (2) Sweet Teas - was only $20 plus tip! Heck; we would've paid that for burgers!! Plenty of on-site parking at this bargain-hunters utopia of food excellence! I have never eaten at Chick & Sea, but a friend had recommended it. I reviewed their website and placed an order online. They responded, online and said they had received the order and it would be ready in 15 minutes. My husband went to pick it up and found they had a drive thru, so instead of going in, he drove thru. The staff member answered the window immediately and was very friendly. The food was home-style and very good. The hamburger steak and gravy with onions was very good. The fried catfish was battered like I do it at home. Overall. It was a pleasant experience with good food and we will be returning. read more

The sign out front is gone, so it's not easy to find unless you know it's there. I went through the drive-thru and saw the menu posted in a photo here as well as a hand-written menu of meat-and-two lunch specials on a whiteboard. There were about four or five meats and eight or ten sides to choose from, and the plates were $12 and came with a drink. I got the dark meat fried chicken, turnip greens, and peas and butterbeans. I was told they didn't have any cornbread, so my choices were hush puppies or a roll. I got the hush puppies. The food came out quick, and it was delicious. Yes it's very good home cooking. I don't go here often but the nice ladies feed a lot of people. The line outside is really long at lunch ! I don't eat French fries for sure and potatoes are not on my list to eat right now so they do have vegetables to choose from. They have a small buffet you can choose or you can order. Nothing fancy, but friendly staff and great food. truly a Southern classic! The chicken tenders are unlike anything you can get anywhere else. It's real chicken breast cut into tenders. I'm not a fan of white meat because it tends to be dry. These were delicious! With their fried chicken dinners they ask you what pieces you want. Nobody else does that!! We thought we would try this place today because it had some good reviews. Well I don't know how. I ordered the shrimp poorboy and it had a total of 8 small shrimp and came out lukewarm. I think I got the leftovers from the lunch special that sits in a cafeteria style serving area, My mother ordered the fried fish sandwich it was hot but soggy. The French fries where hot but soggy as well. It was as if the oil was not hot enough and soaked up th all the grease. When you first walk in you can see into the kitchen and it was not very clean the floors were dirty. The dining room area was clean and the staff was super nice. The waitress was wearing her mask but everyone behind the counter was not. I like to support local restaurants but Unfortunately I will not be back or tell my friends to go. read more

so disappointed, went by today and ordered two plate lunches. If I had looked before I left I probably would have asked for my money back. The chicken and dumplings had one dumpling in the plate and a little juice. The mashed potatoes taste like water. My grandson bit into his dumpling which had a piece of plastic about an inch long , he luckily was able to get it out of his throat. In business you can get it right 1000 times and screw up once and never see that customer again! Well guess what?! I passed no less than 150 eating establishments to specifically go to chick & sea. Got a burger and fries at the drive thru. Anxious for those delicious fries I dug in only to find to my dismay they were flaccid and cold. Went back and received full refund and left hungry. Huge disappointment! Not sure who put those on my tray and don't care but they should become unemployed by this establishment! I always strive to be pleasant and that only extends so far. Dang shame that this has become the norm. Thank you for further distancing my hope that you could be different. The food is good (not great by any means!). The food is only as good as the service. Understand this; most people with any cognitive ability to reason on a competent level would NEVER allow an order to be re-made. Are you kidding me!? I'm very specific where I spend my money and if I choose you I highly recommend you getting it right. So if you like a big friendly smile with your cold,limp fries-well this just might be your place! While the workers are masked and gloved, the owner/manager and most patrons are not in this close and poorly ventilated restaurant. Good food, prices and portions. Excellent service. The lunch buffet is 11AM-2PM for one price, drink included, pie is extra. The menu for each day is posted on the wall right inside the door; choice of meat/seafood, two veggies, and bread. Our meal was tasty and filling and the line was steady the entire time we were there. The restaurant closes at 8PM Tu-Sa, closed on Sunday, and has kids meals, too. This place was ok! When I arrived I didn't see any menus only thing was lunch specials for the week posted. I ordered the fried chicken, dressing, squash and cornbread. The fried chicken and the squash was good. The dressing needed a tad bit more seasoning and the cornbread was hard as a brick. I did find out they had other menu items to order but this was after sitting down and eating the lunch special. I just hate to ding a local meat and three... I ate off the cafeteria line and my fried chicken was cold (at 11:20!!) and under flavored, my mashed potatoes weren't real, and corn bread was sad. Last year was the first time we ate here and it was very good. We just got back this year for our vacation and this was one of the first places we came back to. Well we were not disappointed The food was great. We ate off of the buffet I had the pork chops and my wife had the meat loaf.
