My pleasure Yelp..... hahaha
Peter I.

With only two Chick-fil-A's in our area, it's a really tough decision because both are great and both have wonderful service and great managers. But this week I had to give it to Carlsbad for this reason, it's about a five minute walk to my favorite trail on the cliffs of Carlsbad Beach. So, you get a good workout in and then two minutes later you're ordering one of the outside tables at Chick-fil-A still breathing that ocean air. That works for me.

I am not a huge fan of the Chick-fil-A flavors to be honest but our kids love it. This location doesn't have drive through which is a bummer. Small parking lot too. Stuff is always friendly and helpful though.

CHICK FIL A @ CARLSBAD WEST Parking was a little bit odd, immediately when we turned into the lot, there was about 20 curbside pick up so it seems that their parking structure was more on curbside immediately as a first impression. We parked there anyways. We ended up doing an online order. I just got some medium fries and some mac & cheese. Walking in the place was extremely spacious. They even had surfboards on the wall, which I thought was awesome. The workers were really nice and kind. The bathrooms, however, were a little bit dirty but all the tables were cleaned. The food itself was delicious. I've never tried mac & cheese from Chick-fil-A before so I was really excited to try and it was delicious as well as the fries were steaming hot overall I'll definitely come back to the spot. I really love this Chick-fil-A!

The establishment looks semi clean but a wipe down is def. Needed. Doesn't have a drive through. Lame!!! Plus, charges you the 10cents bag fee even though they don't require it at restaurants. This is one of the only stores I know of who charges this bag fee. They must need the money since their ratings are so low. Food is also switched to paper products, so that's semi good I guess. I feel that there's less salad than in the plastic container. Seems cutting costs and taking more money from customers. Won't be back.

Good customer service but I received my chicken sandwhich with a broken box :/ None the less food was yummy

Worst chicken biscuit ever. Biscuit dried without butter. Chicken fried too much time. Every bite of combo 1 felt like a punishment. Btw I am huge fan of chick fila chicken biscuit. Will never stop here again

This Chick-fil-a had a good amount of seating. Nice surf theme. We ordered some chicken nuggets and a Grilled Chicken Club Meal and took back to the Hilton. It was cold by the time we got there. I warmed it up for a minute. I didn't want it too soggy from microwaving it. It was warm but got cold quick. Waffle fries were not crispy but soft and cold.

Mmmmm

Delicious breakfast! I ordered the croissant breakfast sandwich and WOW, so good!…read more They don't open until 7am, which for me wasn't ideal, but we were seated promptly. Our server was so sweet and did a great job. My only hangup was that we were a little pressed for time so assumed getting in there first we would be able to get in and out for quickly, but it was still a 45 minute breakfast from start to finish. The menu, service and location are second to none though. A must check out!

When I arrived, the host at the front was incredibly sweet. When I mentioned that my order was to-go, she kindly guided me to the bar area to place it. It was 10:50 a.m. when I got there, and by the time the guests ahead of me had ordered, it was around 11:04 a.m. Unfortunately, the bartender taking orders seemed very frustrated. I ordered an oat milk latte and three different pastries (which were honestly superb), but the interaction felt quite uncomfortable. He mentioned several times that no one had come in all morning and that just as he was cleaning up and getting ready to finish, people started showing up. I completely understand that it can be frustrating when customers arrive right as you're expecting to wrap up your shift. However, repeatedly venting that frustration to guests made for an awkward experience. I felt so uncomfortable that I almost cancelled my order altogether. Admittedly, I hadn't had my caffeine yet, so maybe I was feeling it more than usual! That said, the pastries were excellent, the coffee was good, and the host made a wonderful first impression. Overall, it was a mixed experience - great food and drinks, but the service at the bar was not something that begs repeating so I don't know if I'd go back again.

To start, the employees here are so sweet! There are so many seating options inside, outside, and even an additional seating area in a more quiet and secluded room. I was a little nervous that the wheat alternatives would be bland or dry and hard, but everything was delicious! I ordered the Veggie Lovers pizza with vegan mozzarella and ricotta on a paleo crust. I was pleasantly surprised by how soft and flavorful the crust was! The vegan cheeses were also exceptional and the entire pizza was cooked perfectly. The tortillas that they use for the tacos are good as well. Whether you are gluten-free, vegan, trying to eat healthier, or simply accompanying a friend, Nectarine Grove has something for everyone!

Don't miss out! What could be better than a camp store with pizza, beer and an ocean view?!…read more Before visiting, it's important to set your expectations accordingly. This is an actual camp store at the Carlsbad Campgrounds. If you're looking for fine dining, this is not the place. However, it's awesome for many other reasons. The food quality and menu is far better than your average beach shack. My wife and I love to split a fresh made pizza and salad, then grab drinks from the shop window next door. [Note: they also have fries and tater tots, which are the ultimate beach snacks by my standards.] The staff is laid back and you can't beat dining at a picnic table with a salty sea breeze. Better yet, they have live music regularly and evening light shows that make it fun for the whole family. Pro Tip: Parking is limited so carpool if you can. If the lot is full you can park at the nearby shopping center and it's a short walk to the entrance.

This is an experience unlike anything I've ever encountered and not for the good. The food is…read moreadequate, store is overpriced for the convenience it offers, but customer service, management (Bree), and Ownership (Anthony) are atrocious. They kicked out my family (including 4 year old daughter and 1 year old son who literally had food in their hand) on a Wednesday night that was more than half empty well before any music started. However, they let us first buy a round of drinks for 4 adults before kicking us out due to the "no outside food" policy. So with 4 full drinks purchased from them and our "outside food" from camp, they let us walk away with drinks in hand right past the sign that says "no alcohol beyond this point." So you're willing to sell me alcohol, then kick me out with drinks in hand to where alcohol is not allowed because I brought food from my campsite?? It gets better. Bree (the manager?) offers me Anthony's phony number who is apparently the owner. I call Anthony and explain the situation and express my frustration. The very first thing he says is "well you shouldn't grab women like that!!" Wait.... What?!? At this point I'm beyond perplexed and said "what are you taking about?!" He says "Bree said you grabbed her!" I laughed and said "sir, I have 6 people who were there, plus however many other patrons that can attest that at no point anyone was grabbed." Then he says "well she said you shook her hand firmly!" In this real life?! I get kicked out, then accused of "grabbing" the manager which quickly back peddled into "shaking her hand firmly." At this point, I realized I was dealing with people who have zero sense of savvy, customer service and fabricate lies to change a situation. They're fortunate to have the luxury of good location. Located anywhere else it would be a dumpster fire. Myself, nor my family or friends will ever spend another dollar here. Will that hurt them? Probably not, but if this review prevents one person from the same experience, then it's worth it.

Have to say, he wasn't wrong. These were some of the best fish and chips I've ever had and the quantity was huge. It was $28 for the combo with shrimp and worth every bit. Somehow these were so crisp and flaky, but not oily at all. The tartar was the perfect accompaniment, I just wish they gave more. Even the fries were so good, battered for crispness but not too thick, and the middle part was smooth like mashed potatoes, they were addicting. Ate way too many! My wife really enjoyed her grilled mahi plate too and was so happy they served rice, us Asians have to have our rice lol. The medium chowder was huge, even for 2. Curiously it was under seasoned, almost no salt at all. Maybe deliberate for older clientele? But a little salt and Tabasco fixed it right up. Tons of clams which is the important part, and great flavor once seasoned. This is another true 5 star spot and must visit any time fish and chip lovers are in the area.

My New "FAVORITE" restaurant find‼‼‼‼‼‼ TINLEAF FRESH…read moreKITCHEN‼‼ It opened in 2010 and I have lived in the area this whole time, not knowing how amazing it was!!! Please, do NOT be put off by the fact that it is in a strip center. Be HAPPY and GRATEFUL for the parking‼ I found myself looking for a nearby, spot on, go to "Cobb Salad". I had just been to their "sister" restaurant "The Black Rail" for a wonderful Monday burger, fries and glass of wine special. That is what led me next door to Tinleaf. So, I went alone for lunch...ordered the " West Coast Cobb" salad, an order of extra crispy Belgian French fries and a lovely Chardonnay. When ordering French fries...you get your choice of SEVEN dipping sauces‼‼ The Garlic, Chive Aioli is a winner‼ My West Coast Cobb featured panko-crusted chicken breast, bacon bits, hard-boiled egg, Gorgonzola cheese, cucumber, tomatoes, avocado and lovely mixed greens with a Buttermilk dressing. Is that NOT "Heaven in a Bowl"⁉ My fries were plentiful and perfect. The garlic chive aioli sauce was outstanding for the fries and ALSO for the panko-crusted chicken. I noticed a VERY brisk take out vibe going on. And, I'm going to keep this in mind. BECAUSE...my salad and fries could have easily fed TWO people. I, however, ate EVERY bite. I'm thinking...if I take it "to go" I'll get home and only eat HALF and store the rest away. It could happen‼ I'm looking forward to working my way through the menu...Meatloaf Sandwich, Turkey Pot Pie, Tri Tip Steak Salad, Grilled Salmon Sandwich. It is an "order at the counter" place and then they bring your meal to you. They also have patio dining. I'm thinking the "French Dip" with horseradish sauce is calling to me‼‼

TINLEAF FRESH KITCHEN @ CARLSBAD…read more Parking is very tight, and it does get extremely busy since this place is shared with a bunch of other businesses and restaurants. That said, it's honestly a good kind of busy, the complex is super lively, and I absolutely love that vibe. I'd definitely recommend trying to find parking as quickly as you can, but we were able to snag a spot within about five minutes. I like how easy the set up is, you walk in, look at the menu, order and pay right away, then sit wherever you'd like while the food is brought out to you. Overall, the food quality was pretty decent. My family and I ordered family-style and tried a variety of items, including their salads, a mushroom plate, and the salmon. Everything was really good, although the salmon was a bit overcooked. I especially loved the fries that came with the salad. One thing I really liked is that they offer a lot of different combinations, so you can do something like half a sandwich with a soup or salad, or mix and match depending on what you're craving. They also have a convenient water station in the back corner, which is super handy. There's also an outdoor patio area, and it's such a cute spot, perfect for lounging with a drink, sandwich, or appetizer. Overall, I'd definitely recommend stopping by for a quick lunch with friends. The vibe feels much more lunch-focused than dinner, and the staff was super friendly. There were also a lot of to-go orders while we were there, so it's clear this place is very popular.
