I am a southern mother of SIX children and tonight was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I've ever had.... All we wanted was a few milkyshakys after a draining day of farming (our beans are thriving). My husband Billfred was already tired from working, the kids were crunked and excited for a sweety treaty, and we waited in line for ages picturing a sweety treaty thinking we were about to treat our family. Then we get to the window and they tell us they don't even have enough supplies to make milkshakes for everyone. Try explaining that to six kids who have been talking about milkshakes the whole ride there. They were bumfuddled. My husband Billfred was beyond frustrated, and honestly so was I. And to make matters worse, our poor little deformed pug (Gumbo) was in the back seat with us looking just as hopeful as the kiddos. We were planning to share a chocolate shake with Gumbo too, and instead we drove away with nothing but disappointed children and a very upset deformed pug. Carl's Jr, do better. Terrible customer service. The AI ordering system screwed up my order. After realizing, I returned to the drive thru and asked to have the order corrected. She argued with me, stated the she had repeated my order. Once she began, to debate with me, I said fine, just reimburse me for the order. I'm not going to argue with. Then, she called her manager on the phone to get permission (I suppose). Her manager then refused. She took the time to do all this while other cars backed up in the drive thru.. pretty insane!! This time I was there before 10 pm and the lobby was already closed! I wanted to order at the drive through window with my rewards points, In the past I've seen customers walk through the drive through after the lobby being closed and be served without a problem, yet the past two nights I've been refused service by the same rude lady working the drive through window. I don't see any valid reason why they can't serve me because they are closing the lobby early! At these times there are no cars in line. I feel like this Hispanic lady is discriminating against me, for I've seen other customers walk to the window and be served without a problem. I was working in the area for a week and ate here twice . Both times I had the California burger . This burger is topped with delicious fresh toppings and should of been delicious, however , both times the burger was cold . It was as if the hamburger patty was sitting there a while . I really wanted to give more stars but just can't do it. I visited this location in response to the offer of a free impossible burger. I was excited to try something new and different and have had an open mind about new products and the companies behind it. We ordered our burgers (4 in total) and I gave one to each of my daughters. I noticed immediately that my burger patty was different than theirs- mine was flat and dense while theirs was thicker in size and had larger consistency particles in it. Mine tasted like a regular burger (and I thought at first that they did a great job in fooling people) but when I tried my daughter's burger, it had a softer texture and more seasoning compared to mine. So it seemed likely that they gave me a regular burger. I asked the cashier and he did say that the differences I noted in the patties was consistent with that assessment. If that is the case, what is the point of running a promotion to let customers try a new product? Thank God I'm not a vegetarian or I would have had a fit.... I ordered the Guacamole Bacon Fry and it was terrible. The bacon bits were cold and soggy. The shredded cheese was not melted in the least. Everything about the fries was cold. And the actual fries were hard as rocks. I feel like I just wasted $5 on garbage. But I do want to give credit where credit is due, their oreo milkshakes are amazing. I used to go to Carl's Junior in Texas specifically for the breakfast. 2 sausage, egg and cheese for under $5, you couldn't beat. I don't see those offers here, must be a Texas thing? Oh well, I decided to give the burgers a shot. I ordered the California Classic Double Cheeseburger and the Superstar with cheese. California Classic Double Cheeseburger was decent. The cook went a little awol with the ingredients (most were out of the burger upon opening. I could tell from the look and the promotion that this was supposed to be the answer to an In & Out burger. Which was wonderful due to the lack of Rally's in the area. Great double cheeseburger with all the necessary ingredients (minus bacon). It seem like it needs some bacon. Everything could use a little more bacon, amirite???? Good sauce, great consistency. Good *#%#ing burger! When asked what kind of fries they had with the combo, I was pleasantly surprised with hearing fried zucchini. Why? It's different!!! I've never had fried Zucchini before. The significant other got a Chicken Filet Sandwich with hash brown rounds. I took a bite of that chicken filet sammich and I immediately regretted getting burgers/life decisions. It's Christmas Day and nothing is really open for dinner except this place. I go in there and try to order a promotion they are offering. A free kids meal when buying their pastrami thickburger. They then say it's seasonal and it's no longer available and I have to order 1 of there other 2 thickburgers. When I said I don't like either of those options can I get something else he rudely says if I don't like it I can leave. I tell him that's not right and that if you don't have something offered then you offer something else. He again refuses so I take a picture of the advertising on their store menu and say I'll be calling corporate. He then says A 51 year old shouldn't be wearing my Rick and Morty t-shirt and to grow up. He then kicks us out. It's OK, It's fast food, It's open 24 hours, and it has super friendly service! French Fries are decent, but unremarkable, but you can get them in less than 3 minutes! The Sweet Potato Fries however, are the bomb! Unlike the Golden Arches, the chicken tenders appear to be "real" chicken and are hand breaded. The Cod Sandwich, Turkey Burger and the salads are my healthier choices when I have less than 5 minutes to grab food! Worst customer service ever. Last week I ordered a Loaded burrito, they were out of hash browns that they normally put in their burrito, so without asking me they substituted with cold french frys. When I called they apologized and said I could come the next day and they would give me another burrito, I mentioned I only come to Carlsbad once a week and manager said no problem. When I went on Tuesday to get my free burrito the cashier agured with me saying they substiute frys when they run out of hash browns and wanted to charge me.
