Have certainly visited several Chick-fil-A's before selecting this location as a favorite. Busy or not, the service is the same. Each cashier is always smiling and happy to serve. I have enjoyed breakfast; the minis with hash browns are a favorite. There are times when I have also enjoyed the breakfast bowl and a biscuit with honey. I have enjoyed lunch; the spicy chicken sandwich, with waffle fries and a frosted lemonade is always a win for me. Of course, I have tried their new menu items and have been impressed. Leftover grilled chicken nuggets are great cut up on a salad. The seasonal tortilla soup is comforting and the baked macaroni and cheese reminds me of home without the clean up. This is specific for the Chick-fil-A in Broadview Illinois. I went to order a lunch. I'm standing there in line waiting for someone to ask me can I help you and then some man walks up with a cup for a refill and one of the managers decides to take him first to refill his cup while I'm standing there so I showed her very much disappointment on my face and I mentioned to her when she asked me how could she help me? I told her you could've helped me before you helped him. She mentioned I wasn't standing in the correct place. That's funny cause I was standing in the same spot yesterday when I ordered my lunch, I know how to repair that scenario. I really was debating whether I should write this review or not. I work in the downtown area so ordering for pick up is really convenient for me to do. Today my order was all incorrect, and I didn't notice until I got back to work, sat on my seat and opened up the bag with the food. Not only was my food all incorrect, I was given water instead of a medium sprite. I could not walk back to the restaurant to get my food re done because my lunch time is not that long. On my birthday, I visited this Chick-fil-A location that sits just within steps of Chicago's iconic Chicago Theater, and the Medieval Torture Museum which I had just visited for a tour. I vowed that during my next visit to a Chick-fil-A location that I would order one of their salads. However, once I made my way up to the counter to order a salad, that all changed, tehehe. Once I saw Mac & Cheese on the menu, I totally disregarded any thoughts of ordering a salad. I ended up ordering a Mac & Cheese, and Waffle Potato Fries w/ a Fanta Orange. After ordering, the employee gave me a 'Be our guest' gift card which featured a choice of one out of four free redeemable breakfast items that can be redeemed at any Chick-fil-A location. My order was completed within a reasonable timeframe, as I literally pulled out extra napkins from the dispenser. Since I had no other plans at the time, I dined in and absolutely enjoyed the view from the window. Lake & State is one of my favorite parts of downtown Chicago because it brings back many memories of my past visits to the city as a tourist; and memories while taking college classes at Harold Washington College which sits diagonal of this Chick-fil-A. As for my order, the outside portion of the Mac & Cheese was burnt, however, its taste made up for its appearance. And of course, the Waffle Potato Fries did not disappoint as I knew they would not. As for returning you bet I will, if in the downtown Chicago area and I get just the slightest craving for some of those Waffle Potato Fries that Chick-fil-A is known for. Located on Lake and Michigan, this fast food joint normally functions quickly and i am in and out. My order is not always right but I understand that they are hiring inexperienced staff members. I was not happy because the inexperienced manager did not have good customer service skills. I should have asked for his manager. So I made my order and AFTER paying, he mentioned my order would be 20 minutes late. I asked to talk to a manager and he said that he was. I asked why 20 minutes and asked for a refund in cash because I had gift card. After he asked someone in back, he said that the card would be refunded but I wanted cash because I didnt want to come back if it didn't work. This location is horrible! I visited on Saturday 9/30 and Tuesday 10/3. Both visits were out of convenience, being that our hotel was across the street. Saturday 9/30 - workers were arguing with each other. There is no "my pleasure" at this location. Worker at first register kept yelling at customers "card only". So then another worker yelled at him telling him that was dumb because "there is a register now, you can take cash". Both visits, I somehow ended up in the line with the same cashier (Jose). Saturday, 9/30 - he was irritated because I said no ice on 3 drinks. He also told me the system wasn't working to allow using the app, rewards scan or CFA gift cards. Tuesday, 10/3 (today). I arrived right at 10:30am for lunch. I tried placing a carry out order via the app. It wouldn't go through. I got in line, greeted again by Jose. After his negative attitude on the prior visit, I should have waited for the next cashier. I was placing my order and he kept saying "and the drink". I wasn't at the drink yet. I wanted to add bacon and cheese to the sandwich and remove the pickles. It was a horrible inconvenience to him for me to do so. His long sighs and frustration should not allow him to be in the customer facing cashier line. I asked about scanning my app (for rewards and to use the $10 gift card I had loaded). He told me the rewards still weren't working. I asked why, he said he doesn't know it has just been that way for a few days. Ok, no big deal. I'll use the gift card another time and will do missed transaction on the app to get my points. I insert my card to pay and someone brought my food over. He kept telling me it would be awhile for the card to go through. The screen on my side went black. I told him that. He said that doesn't mean anything. 2-3 minutes later, I ask what the problem is. He doesn't know. Remove the card and let's try again. I tried tap to pay, that didn't work. The 2 other registers and cashiers next to me had no issues with greeting people kindly, taking their orders and payments and moving on to the next customers. Here I stand 5-7 minutes after the food is brought over to me and still my card won't go through. He said it's their system. Me: clearly not the system if at least 2-3 guests each have gone through the other cashiers while I'm standing here. It has to be the register. Jose doesn't know. Instead of asking a manager for help he is irritated with me. I ask again why it's taking so long. Magically then my receipt spits out the machine and I'm on my way. Get back to the hotel and see that my credit card was charged 6 times. Yes, I'll dispute with my credit card company if the 5 additional charges don't fall off. But I shouldn't have to do that. Management: please get Jose some training. Please remind all workers to be pleasant to each other and the customers. If a credit card machine or register isn't working, shut down that register. No one should have to walk out with food that's been sitting for a long time because they are waiting on the credit card processing to work. Again, wouldn't be a big deal if it was everyone, but it was only the register I was at. TLDR: horrible location. Rude employees. Credit card and register machines don't work but still have customers going through them, so customer has to take cold fries to go. Such a waste of time and money! read more

It's always busy but that's not an issue for us to come here to eat. This is my husband and my place to eat after school. We both are students and after class we both come to get a bite to eat. We always get the chicken strips and nuggets. Sooo good. I love their fries, but the true stars are the sauces. We always get the herb and ranch. And dip everything we get in it. Classic American fast food done to perfection. Simple menu, impeccable customer service (truly impeccable) and reasonably priced. The restaurant is well maintained and tables are kept clean despite the high volume of customers. There can be a lineup at most times, however service is fast. We came to this location twice during our recent visit to Chicago, and would have visited again had it not been for their policy of closing on Sundays (their business, so their choice as far as I am concerned). I would recommend everything from burgers to the chicken strips to the salads... and those waffle fries. Just promise me one thing: you HAVE to get the Chick-Fil-A Sauce on the side. Fast service, friendly staff and of course, that wonderful chicken! So I'm in the gym at my hotel across the street, sweatin' to the oldies, when I look down and what do I see? This darn Chick Fil A! After 30 minutes on the treadmill, I made the executive decision to negate all the calories I just burned by indulging in a Chick Fil A breakfast. Still dripping with sweat (I did bring a towel with me so I wouldn't make too much of a mess), I headed across the street and ordered a spicy chicken biscuit breakfast combo. And a second spicy chicken biscuit. Scurrying back to my hotel room, I unwrapped the precious and immediately went to work. The biscuits were soooo good! And the spicy chicken was delicious! And the little box of hash rounds was perfect. I even liked the coffee. Still wearing my sweat-soaked workout gear, now littered with biscuit crumbs and grease stains from where I wiped my hands, with little bits of biscuit still stuck in my beard, I immediately went into a chicken-induced state of ecstasy. I'm very impressed with the fast, quick and friendly service I received here. The cashier wished for me to have a great day. The lady who delivered my food to me also wished for me to have a great day. You definitely don't get this type of friendliness at McDonalds! As for the food, I am usually not a white meat chicken type gal but their spicy chicken sandwich (which is not spicy at all) was nicely crisp and the meat was very tender. I love their waffle fries and I love that they give you sauce (I got the garlic ranch sauce) without charging extra. I almost did not order a drink but I saw their tanks of lemonade which had a label on it that said it just had lemon, water and sugar. The purity of the ingredients was what sold me to add a lemonade to my drink. There was a small uncharge for it but it was totally worth it. Overall I enjoyed my meal. As one of the few, if not only, Chik-fil-A's in downtown Chicago, it does not fail to deliver on the same quality service and the same quality food you'd expect from any one of its other restaurants. The line does get pretty long during peak hours, but it goes by really fast because their efficiency is impeccable. You'll find yourself at the front and ordering in no time! I know I'm echoing everyone else when I say this... but the best part about Chik-fil-a is the workers. They are extremely welcoming and professional. Every time I go to Chik-fil-a, they make me feel valued as a customer and as a person. They train them up the right way here! Take notice every other fast food joint ever. One thing to note though. This location does tend to have a few homeless people at any given time. There's nothing wrong with that at all! Most are very friendly and are just grabbing a bite to eat but there's a couple of rare ones that can be a bit rude. Serves up some great tasting chicken fast, is conveniently located right by the State/Lake stop on CTA. Open until 10 PM on weeknights, unusual for the Loop. And they serve breakfast, and with the biscuits they taste better than anything McDonalds might offer. If it has Chick in the name, then of course you have to get their chicken. For breakfast the Chicken biscuit and spicy chicken biscuit are both solid. Yes it's a biscuit, and it tastes delicious, and so there's probably lots of butter and other 'flavors' used to make it, but are you really going to Chick-Fil-A for healthy options? they have a chicken egg cheese on multigrain bagel, but that's also like ordering a Double Quarter Pounder, large fries, and Diet Coke, really that last part doesn't quite balance the meal like you would want. For lunch, the chicken (and spicy chicken) sandwiches are good, but I personally enjoy the Grilled Chicken Club the most. With waffle fries as a side, because when are waffles fries not good? Never, they are the best fry, and somehow the most tasty too. I don't know how they cut em like that (probably fancy machines), but it works and they taste good and I eat em all, even the ends with skin on. The fruit cup has been disappointingly small, and since I don't eat CFA for health, I usually skip it and get my fruit elsewhere in my diet. Lastly, the Cookies and Cream milkshake is the best, which contains a surprisingly 1 g fiber and 12 g protein (and then 69 g flavor). But chicken and fries and shake all at once is too much, you've been warned. read more

This is a really nice chik. All updated upgraded and clean for the interior. Bathrooms require lock code. Very refreshing for a fast food restaurant to have high standards. The staff member who took my order was incredibly helpful, sweet, friendly and professional. This location is right on a corner of two main streets downtown. This location gets lots of traffic so I've never seen it without a line, but it moves quickly so don't be discouraged. There is a decent amount of seating inside but sometimes it can be a little hard to find seats because of how busy it is. I always get their chicken tender combo. Everything always comes out fresh!
