I'm going to have to go ahead and deduct that extra star. I expected that this store would get better with time, but it's only gotten worse. I'm sure my view is affected by the fact that I went to a typical CFA store this weekend. That place was slammed for weekend lunch, yet they still got my food out amazingly quickly with smiles on their faces, and everything was great. Like I said, typical CFA. This store has tons of employees working at any given time, but they're just not up to CFA standards. I don't know if it's a training issue or a hiring issue, but I've never seen it anywhere else. My most recent visit, I walked in at an off hour. There was no line, so I ordered right away. cashier: (waves at me to come over) maurice: Hi, I'll have a 4-piece chicken strip meal. cashier: (stares blankly into space for 10 seconds) Chicken strips? maurice: Yes. cashier: (stares blankly into space for 10 seconds) How many pieces? maurice: Four. Then I waited 10 minutes for my food. Again, the place was practically empty. There were as many employees as customers. Dude passes off the bag and then literally runs away. maurice: Excuse me. Can I have some BBQ sauce and catsup? I assume this is a fairly normal request for a person who ordered a chicken strip meal. The bag contained no condiments and, at this store uniquely, you are not trusted to grab them yourself. Dude eventually hands me 2 small containers of BBQ sauce and then runs away again. maurice: Excuse me! Can I have some BBQ sauce AND catsup? Dude hands me 2 containers of catsup and says, "I thought you said 'extra BBQ sauce'"...because at this store uniquely, 2 small containers of BBQ sauce for a 4-piece chicken strip meal is considered EXTRA BBQ sauce. When I got back to my office 2 minutes later, I found that the strips were soggy and not at all crunchy, as if they had been sitting in the box for a long time. They also contained quite a bit of gristle, so the extra star I gave them for CFA-quality food has to go. It's gotten worse since my initial review. I went here recently on a busy week day right at 12pm. Outside the restaurant it's very bus, sidewalks are crowded with hordes of tourists, business people, government workers, etc. As expected the line inside was long. I groaned and was reluctant. But I was AMAZED how fast it went. AMAZED! I estimate I was in line around 5-7 minutes. I got my food literally 10 seconds after the guy handed me the receipt. They have a lot of cashiers for their lunch rush crowd and it's apparent their entire crew can handle the busy spike. When you get to the front of the line, you'll notice how briskly the cashiers are speaking and moving to speed up the process. You better be ready to order when they call out, "Next customer here please!" Also the food was excellent and just as good as you would expect at any other Chick-Fil-A. And the restaurant was clean. Curious as to why anyone has rated this place low.... Comparing this to a fancy restaurant or on the opposite end - Harold's Chicken Shack - is not appropriate. Let's get things straight - Chick-Fil-A is a "fast food" place specializing in chicken sandwiches and other chicken meals. Having visited this location twice since they opened, I'm impressed. Management adequately staffs the location and it shows with the speed that food is delivered to the customer. Food is great, can't complain about quality. If you were to stack Chick-Fil-A against its competitors ( Burger King, McDonald's, Wendy's), there is not a doubt that Chick-Fil-A has the best chicken sandwiches, and with the rising costs of fast food places, the money you pay here is fair for the food you receive. I don't want to forget to compliment this location for great customer service as workers walk around dining area to ask how your meal is, offer to get something you may need, and thank you on your way out. read more

It's so fast and so fluid. But not so fast that I felt rushed. The employees are super nice and patient, too. The food, of course, was great. The portions are great for lunch. Me and my husband have been here multiple times. It reminds us of home, North Carolina! Great service, usually pretty clean, can get crowded! Good job Chick-fil-A Chicago! I lived in Atlanta for over a year and absolutely LOVED Chick-fil-A down there. Once moving to Chicago, I really didn't think it was going to be as good so I avoided going even though I walked by this location many times. One Saturday afternoon I was walking around the city hungry and looking for something, and came across this Chick-fil-A and decided to see if it was as good as it was in South. First and last time. A friend insisted he wants Chick-fil-A and so that is where I ended up. I did not mind. It is good to try new things. The line was long, which makes one hopeful that the sandwiches would be great. Wrong, girl. It is your basic pumped up water-laden tasteless chicken that they attempt to mask by serving you with a flavoured sauce. Their French Fries are shaped and modelled after the grill and are somewhat underdone. Both the chicken and fries are rather pale and soggy, something that becomes even more obvious should one not pour sauce on it. It has been years since I ate a Wendys chicken sandwich, but that is what chick fil a reminds one of. The main reason it will be the last time I visit this chain, however, is that I was stricken by the famous 'McDonalds Syndrome' (look it up in any medical encyclopedia). I had a stomach cramp, felt bloated and tired after downing their chicken sandwich and Fries. I recommend going to Freshii instead if you are not smart enough to pack a home-made lunch. What a great location! I called yesterday morning for a catering order and they were able to accommodate us for lunch at noon, no problem. They even arrived a few minutes early! The girl that arrived with the food was very friendly and quickly setup the order in our office. All of the food was warm and fresh! They even threw in a free fruit tray worth $73! Stay away from this location. I had multiple annoying situations only at this location. Today I returned my order for a refund because I witnessed an employee come out of the bathrooms and then go get my food by using his bare hands to dip inside and touch my fries. There was another person that came out of the bathroom and immediately went and got napkins to dry his hands so I have no clue as to whether this employee even washed his hands. How can you notice that it's 2 people in line, and still manage to mess up an order. After a long day at work. I go in pay for 12 nugget meal and was handed a bag as quickly as I paid. I thought it was great to be in and out in such short notice. In a rush to get home because it's dark. I get home to find my fries dumped in my bag and only 4 nuggets. What the heck is going on. I'm so furious, this place by far is the worst. And the fact that you guys are downtown, you should be a little bit more careful about what you do and how you do it. I love the food normally. I'm feeling a bit jaded though since this is the 2nd time they've given me a sandwich and left the pickle off. By the time I noticed I was half a mile away back in my office. The long lines and big crowds aren't worth it if they aren't going to give you what you ordered.
