Staff were exceptional. Attentive but not overly so. Service was elevated better than you would expect from small pizza restaurant. Is it a pizza restaurant? I'd rather think it's a nice restaurant that offers pizza. They had me with the complementary marinated vegetables and bread basket. Everything was stellar. Eggplant Rollatini appetizer was just the way I like it. Chicken Parmesan was good not the best ever but very good. Nice fresh sauce. Linguine clams had a generous amount of fresh clam. The only disappointment of the night was the consistency of the carbonara. I always ask if they put cream in the carbonara, which is a sin. They said they did not, but the carbonara came out a too soupy for my taste. Maybe they added too much pasta water at the end I don't know, but that is my only ding on the night. I will definitely return.

I wanted pizza so bad so I went along with my husband's choice, even though I was apprehensive about this place regarding the pizza. Upon walking in, we were greeted immediately by the staff behind the pizza counter. When you walk in, the ordering counter is right there and you can choose to order to go or sit & dine in, as well as table service. We decided to dine in with table service. The area seemed small space wise but there were plenty of tables and it did not feel crammed. I luckily browsed reviews prior to visiting because they do not serve wine or beer but you can BYOB. We brought a bottle with us to open at the table. I do not recall being charged a corkage fee. Since I was craving pizza, hubs was also game, so we went with a large pie, with half pepperoni for hubs. We also ordered garlic knots, hoping they would be real knots instead of rolls. Our food arrived in a timely manner and was fresh. I was disappointed though because there was so much sauce on the pizza but hubs was happy since he loves extra sauce. I didn't think to ask for light sauce because there usually is not a lot of sauce on pizza up north but I learned my lesson. Hubs thought the pizza was good. The knots were rolls so I was disappointed on that aspect as well. We were in the area for a training Hubs had to attend and he had this place for lunch one day and said it was also good. The service was great and the food was okay, I would just ask for light sauce next time.

We succeeded in both respects, saving over $20 a week in Java fees and thoroughly enjoying our handiwork as we controlled our filtered water and fresh ingredients throughout the process. But, yesterday I found myself out and about - out of coffee and about to take drastic action to remedy this problem. I looked up as I drove through Cranbury, NJ, and saw a sign for Lyberry Cafe in a newish commercial strip on the south side of town. The Universe provides. I pulled in, parked and walked in to a chill large warehouse-looking space with painted library walls on one end with comfy leatheresque easy chairs and small tables for privacy, and a long row of tables/wooden benches/chairs along running the length of the deep room and partially across from the service area. I had to acknowledge feeling passing strange being in a cafe for the first time in a long while, but I managed to check their menu and order a small Americano to go before taking a seat at the end table closest to the door. Why not sit and relax for a few before returning to my wheels? It wasn't crowded around noon, and the folks seemed like they were settled in for a while. Some working; most chatting. I sipped the strong steaming hot joe. Yep! Definitely strong enough to remove the wearies and retune me up for my afternoon agenda. Still, couldn't help feeling a little out of place. Just spending money for commercial coffee, once so commonplace; but now so strangely wasteful put me in touch with how transitory some habits are. Three average caffeinated stars for the ho-hum of this or any such consumption outpost. I think I have lost my Lyberry card.

Their daily homemade soup menu is worth a look, with veggie and vegan options across the big board. Combo soup and sandwich is also in play. I went with a Tuna Hoagie on foot long torpedo, with accompanying soft drink and bag o' chips. The tuna was freshly made, with tomato and lettuce, and a side cup of sliced dill pickles that I stuffed into the sandwich for extra crunch and semi sweet flavor enhancement. I had requested that the proposed pickle spear not be built into the sammy to avoid dampening the roll too long before consuming. The cashier/order taker/short order cook took care of business with a pleasant smile and engaging repartee. Ate when I arrived home 40 minutes later, and everything was in great shape and quite tasty. I could only finish half of the meal. A larger selection of drinks and chips would make the experience more complete. 4 P'ton Stars for taking this tradition on the road.
