I've been eating Chick-fil-A since early 1971, at 1 of the first mall locations in Decatur Ga. I've eating a ton of chicken and 2 tons of taters. I've visited this location probably 20 times in the last year. And this location, has to be the worst location Chick-fil-A has in the system. More often than not, my chicken samich is dry, chewy and cold. Their signature waffle fries, cold and soggy. I'm not real sure why the food is so bad here, there's plenty of staffing at the times I go and they're usually the lines move pretty quickly. I'm going to save my Chick-Fil-A experience for another location. I'm not going back! read more

Great management team that went out of their way to show the customer that they cared! Something happened to one of my orders and it took a little extra time for them to get my order complete. The manager came out from the back to express his apologizes to my wife and I for the delay and was relentless to give us a free promotional coupon for our next visit. We eat at this location quite a bit and I'm sure they did not know this but it showed that they truly value their customers! Alright, alright... you can criticize the Birmingham Community Manager for giving a fast food restaurant 5 stars. But hear me out. At MOST CFA's, the service is over the top friendly, helpful, and efficient. There is a reason that most CFA's are packed during peak (and sometime not peak) hours. And getting through that many people and not feel like you are waiting forever is an art-form. They are always clean which is great for a pit stop on a road trip. And what isn't to like... their chicken is always juicy and flavorful, waffle fries are always fresh, and those biscuits are incredible for churning out 100s a day. If you took this food and put it in a casual dining, new American hipster joint far away from serpentine lines and a kids play place, there is no way you don't like it. That is my feeling on Chick-fil-a in general. Copy and paste for any CFA review I do in the future. But here is where the review might change (although they stay pretty good across the board -- always exceptions though). This location is one of the most efficient I have ever seen. The drive thru line might seem intimidating from Montevallo road. But come experience this well oiled machine and you will barely have time to text bae that you are picking up CFA on your way home before the car in front of you is already moving. During the heaviest times, they even have the two car line with umbrella covered workers taking your order. Me personally, I like to skip long drive thru lines and just go inside. I don't even heed my own advice and head inside to see if I can beat that person who would have been ahead of me. But so often I do that, and by the time it takes my order to be prepared, that car is pulling up to the window. Probably because these da Vinci's of drive thru operations started their prep when they ordered too. Crowded but great location. Highly recommended if you aren't a CFA hater. read more

Typically Chick-fil-a is efficient and quick with taking and preparing orders. They have staff outside to take your order and payment which makes the massively long lines that Chick-fil-a is known for go much faster. However today this was not the case. I was in line for 30mins and by the time I received my order, the food was cold. There was no staff outside to process the orders and I could not get out of the line because there were cones in the way. I can't wait 30mins in line only to receive cold food. I don't think I've written a review of this particular CFA, but now it is my favorite. It's just a few minutes from my house, which is great... but they have blessed me with 12 days of Christmas treats on the CFA app! Every day for 12 days, I get a free treat... I mean, seriously? What a great surprise! Thanks, CFA Eastwood!!!! For the drive thru- there are times when it is packed and moves slow, and other times when it is packed but moves fast.. the difference is if there are 2 people standing outside and taking your order vs the one drive up speaker ordering window. They don't always have people out there, so it just depends on how lucky you get. This CFA is busy enough every time we go in that I think that a second ordering window wouldn't be too absurd to add on. Service is as fast as they can be, accurate, and friendly. They are everything I would expect a chick fil a to be. There are times when I do think that more cashiers or kitchen staff could be helpful as wait times are sometimes a bit lengthy. read more

This isn't my favorite Chick-fil-A. They never get my order quite right or they leave something out of the bag. The staff isn't the friendliest and it always takes longer than other Chick-fil-A Restaurants to get your food. The owner-operator didn't try to rectify the situation all he did was send a generic email as an apology. Great food and service that can't be surpassed. The menu has been expanded so it'll accommodate everyone. I recommend it to everyone who cares about quality, value and service. Chick-fil-A is Chick-fil-A, however, I am impressed by the number of customers this location serves with efficiency. As usual, service is fast, friendly, and with a smile. I have a complicated sauce order, and they usually get it right here (can't say that for the 5 Points location). Mobile ordering reduces the wait time, so I can be in and out within a few minutes to get my dinner after a busy work day. I'd give this location 5 stars if it had more parking! Had a bad experience here the other day that has yet to be addressed. Got there at dinner time, long drive thru line. As to be expected. Ordered the Mac n cheese through the app (using a reward I hadn't been able to use at another location previously). When I get to the window (after a 15 minute wait) I'm told it will be 15 mins for Mac n cheese. I say I don't want to wait and bc I used a reward, can I get a refund (ie I used 500 points on the reward and I still want Mac n cheese at some point). Multiple employees give me confused looks. I think the main girl at the window was new. Finally a manager comes and attempts to give me a refund but she can't. So they print me out a receipt to get one in the future. Up till now I am displeased, but understanding. However I will note that chik fil a service is always above and beyond and thus far the staff was acting mostly like what you'd expect at Popeyes or McDonald's. So not what you'd expect at chik fil a. Finally I had to request the rest of my order- a 4 count nugget. After more confusion they find it. (Maybe this service is normal other places, but it's just not chik fil a!) Finally I have to ask if I can get some fries or something bc I'm leaving after about 30 minutes with nothing but 4 nuggets for dinner. At that point I would have been willing to just buy the fries. The confused, new girl at the window just says it's not possible. No explanation given. I drive off, hungry and confused. I immediately submitted a customer service report through the chik fil a app but in more than 24 hours no one has responded. This may be normal at other places, but we have come to expect more from chik fil a. I was thoroughly disappointed in the entire experience. I understand being busy and not having a popular new item but honestly it was the poor service and attitude of all the workers that was so disturbing. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Chick-Fil-a. Not like, LOVE! This is my favorite fast food spot. Unfortunately, so many northern urban areas don't know what they are missing. The staff is always above courteous. I usually go through the drive which during peak meal hours is wrapped around the parking lot. Don't be discouraged by the line, on most days it moves pretty fast. I really enjoy the grilled chicken nuggets with polynesian sauce and waffle fries. I never feel that heavy sick stomach after eat their food. I always feel like I just ate quality. Oh yeah, always get the fresh lemonade or hand spun milkshakes. One more thing I love about them: You can count on their bathroom to be clean. That hands free, use a paper towel to open and close the door routine is not necessary here. This makes all difference when you are on a road trip. read more

"Chick-fil-A, I think about you every night and day..." I mean this song rings true right? It's hard to go wrong with Chick-fil-A. Staff at this location are friendly and attentive. I love the local area rewards this Chick-fil-A participates in (i.e. a free breakfast entree every Monday in January - yes please!). If I'm feeling something more light, I like to order the grilled chicken wrap with fruit and a diet lemonade. If I'm not in the mood for light it's fried nuggets with fries all the way. The drive through at this branch runs quickly so picking up a breakfast treat on the way to work is no problem. I highly recommend! I rarely ever give bad ratings, I'm more into positivity, but I felt it was necessary with my past two experiences. About a month ago, I used mobile ordering for breakfast and ordered a couple of biscuits. I went to the pick up line where I wasn't helped for about five mins, so I jumped in the regular line. Once I got to the front and told them I placed a mobile order, I was told to go to the pickup line... where I had just stood for five mins. Tonight, I placed a mobile order for a salad. I went inside, hopped in the pickup line, and was told they were getting my order together. Five minutes pass, several other mobile orders have come and gone, and I'm still waiting. An employee asks me what I had ordered and I told her. She asks if anyone has my order ready and they assure me it's coming. Five more minutes pass and I'm once again being told that my order is almost finished. Finally I get my salad and head home. Once home, I find that I have no dressing in the bag and I have none at home. I call and explain what has happened and the employee asks for my name and tells me that they'll have a new salad waiting for me at the drive thru window. I pull up and tell the girl my name and that I'm back for salad dressing. She hands me a packet of dressing, thanks me, and closes the window... no new salad or apology or anything. Once again, I'm not a complainer, but I've not had this happen to me at any other CFA location. I'll most likely be driving to the Five Points location from now on. read more

I'm sure it's hard being a less than great Chick fila. The bar is extremely high. I frequent the Leeds location. Service is spectacular at Leeds with an apology for long waits and sometimes a gift card for waiting. This location is very different and two out of the four times I've visited my order wasn't filled as requested. I guess it happens. There are two other locations close enough for me to avoid this on again. So, just to put it all out there- I'm a big chick-fil-a fan. Like the type of fan that has camped out at 4 chick-fil-a openings and it would be more if they hadn't changed the rules for the openings...All that said, I do think the food at the Chick-Fil-A on Montclair is better than most of the Chick-Fil-A's I have been to. I have not been through the drive thru and have only eaten inside or ordered take out from inside, so I can't speak to the experience of ordering via drive thru. The food always come out hot and fresh and the chicken sandwich isn't skimpy. I usually get a large chicken filet that is well breaded and fried (mouth watering now). Even better, they actually give you a full order of waffle fries. Nothing breaks my heart more than ordering waffle fries and having the fry container not be filled. If I'm going to eat fries, then I want to EAT FRIES, you know what I mean? My sister and I also got chicken biscuits one morning and it was one of the best chicken biscuits I have ever had. I honestly stopped ordering them because they would come out cold or the chicken would be tiny, but this was perfect. My only complaint about this location is the Diet Dr. Pepper is not up to the normal standard. It's not carbonated very well so it has that overly sweet and flat taste to it. If that could get that fixed then I may have to change this to a five star dining experience. All that said, this is my go to Chickfila in Bham and I don't see that changing anytime soon. read more

Unacceptable communication and overall customer service. This store is located near my home so had I know they would not be on time and lie, I would have went somewhere else. I called in to see if they would have a order ready by a certain time and told me yes. I got there a little early just in case they were prompt. I had another errand to run and could have done that if I knew they were not gonna be on time. So as I'm waiting for my order to be finished, no one never checked up on me give me a status or even ask if I want anything because I've been waiting. Not the cashier I paid my money to or the lady I followed up with when it was a few minutes after the original time. She told me they were still preparing my order. It seem like everyone was pretty much in their own world and only care about the current customers I in line. I literally had a way in between them taking customers to try to get a word in and ask them about my order or to speak to someone. About another 10 minutes passes and an older Caucasian male who I assume to be the manager or supervisor of some sort was looking confused no one directed or made him aware that I was a customer looking for the Catered order. I literally had to approach him, give my name and say "is that my order?" He confirmed that this was indeed my order but then asked if I paid. I was immediately annoyed because he should have gotten a paid receipt of some sort or someone should have mentioned it to him. But he tells me the order was ready 10 minutes prior to my pick up time I responded back by saying well no one told me I followed up even after the agreed time had past. He's only come back was to apologize and said he will have a talk with his staff nothing after that. I said this is kind of unacceptable because had I known I would've went to another store. He said we appreciate your business but that's not good enough. Y'all basically don't communicate with each other and no one checked up and followed up with me at all and I had to follow up numerous times. One of the associates referred me to speak to someone in particular but I couldn't understand her so instead of clarifiying what was said as I tried to get her attention again, she didnt bother to acknowledge me and deal with another customer as if I had not paid. It was the rudest thing because I was in her face at the register so I know she felt me in her presence. I know in the future not in store place any small catering orders to them because they don't seem to be able to handle more than three orders at a time. Since my last review in September of this year, I've had problems three different times with this location. 1st time it was a weekday morning, around 8:45 and the lady forgot to hand me my drink. 2nd time they gave me the wrong burrito 3rd time the wrong drink completely! I have no doubt if I had the time to park, and walk inside, they would correct these three mistakes. I just didn't have time to get back in line.
