I sure have eaten a ton of chicken sandwiches lately. From fast food establishments to local mom and pop staples, it seems that poultry between a few buns is what I've been craving lately. In the same breath, not all chicken sandwiches are created equal. So, Chick-fil-A announces their new grilled chicken sandwich and my wife was all over it. She's a Chick-fil-A fan and the announcement of a "healthier" option to one of her faves was all she needed to give it a try and of course I was on board with it. Do yourself a favor, skip it. It's nothing special and in fact we both ended up with upset stomaches after we finished our meals. Anybody with the most minor of kitchen skills can knock out a version as good or better than what they served us, and it ain't cheap either! No Eggs for Breakfast! They do not have any eggs or egg whites for breakfast. They also don't have anybody outside telling you that so you get stuck in the Drive-Thru line for 30 minutes and not get anything because you went there for breakfast, and surprise. They never said my pleasure (LOOOLL) but for real, this is probably the worst chick-fil-a I've been to. Order is usually wrong, and the service isn't the greatest here. Don't bother ordering the fries well done, it won't be well done. Told us our straws were in the bag and there was no straws. The next time we stopped by we were given our orders but they almost forgot our orange juice until we asked for it. The sandwich doesn't taste as good as other locations. I am constantly awed by the machine-like efficiency of this restaurant. It is not just because it has consistent, fast food but because the people that work there are ALWAYS pleasant. i'm really disappointed in my experience this morning. I placed a breakfast order at 10:25 and immediately headed over to pick up my food. I arrived at 10:32 and was waiting for my order to be placed on the carryout shelf. After I didn't see it for four minutes, I asked, one of the employees if my order was ready. The person let me know that I placed a breakfast order and that they don't serve breakfast after 1030. I told him I placed the order before 1030 so I didn't understand why they couldn't give it to me. They obviously have the food, it seems like bad business to not give the food to the person who purchased the item. I don't understand why they wouldn't just give it to me since I placed the order prior to 1030. It doesn't make sense to me because they lose money by refunding me instead of just giving me the food that they probably had to end up throwing out. Make it make sense. read more

First visit to this location for my favorite spicy chicken sandwich lathered in Chick-Fil-A Sauce. Customer service was quick and friendly. The restaurant was spotless as well as the restrooms. Parking can be a serious challenge during lunch hours so plan on circling. One gripe I do have is that fact that the burgers are getting smaller and they seem to be giving less fries per serving. This is an In-N-Out caliber fast food chain. With that said, be prepared to wait in line, as this location is pretty busy. We went through drive-thru around 3:30pm on Thursday afternoon, and it took quiet some time. The cool thing is the nuggets and chicken patties from this place are made from fresh white meat :) They offer a solid selection of sauces to complement their food. Some of our favorites are their signature sauce, ranch, and honey mustard. What I LOVE MOST are the waffle fries!! Personally, I think this is what makes them stand out above all those other fast food chains. 4-stars because I refuse to give FF Chains 5-stars. (unless it's In-N-Out). read more

I was automatically greeted by the cashier young man as I entered the restaraunt. He was very PLEASANT throughout my visit. I told him I saw a salad on TV that looked REALLY good. Parents need to keep their older children who don't know how to behave OUT of the play area.. and management needs to enforce the height restriction! Otherwise why have one! A 9-yr-old smacked my just turned 4-yr old across the face today 10/26. She was WAY over the height limit & had no business being in there & fighting with her 7ish old sister. My son was shoved to the ground & smacked in the face.. he came running out of the tube crying to get me... Then she hid in the play area then tried to lie and blame her little sister. I don't ever usually eat at fast food restaurants but today for 7-11 they were holding a promotion for Cow appreciation day where they were giving out free entrees to anyone and everyone who dressed up like a cow or had on anything cow like. You know damn right I had to jump on that band wagon and with a black sharpie, white paper, and a head band I was all set 8-). Walked in and man I swear cow appreciation day is like a national holiday in America because everyone and their baby's mama was here suited and buited ready to smash on some cheeeeeken. I ordered the grilled chicken club (6.59 but today 0.00). It came on a soft sesame bun with some lettuce, bacon, tomatoes, and pepper jack cheese. The best part about the sandwich was the green leaf lettuce! It definitely made all the difference and gave it a more fresher and healthier taste especially since the chicken was grilled and not fried. I also love their zesty buffalo sauce; it went hand in hand with the sandwich. I'd give this place a 8/10 and everyone that worked here was very friendly and helpful too. First time going through this drive-through and the kids in the backseat are yelling their order at me so I put in the order of chicken nuggets and fries and then add the frosted lemonade. I didn't ask the lady if doing the combo would be better, she says yes. So we do the combo and then she says what drink do you want, I said the frosted lemonade. Drive forward pay the check without paying attention then drive forward to the counter to get the food. Take a peek at the receipt and they up-charge me for french fries and for the drinks. I calmly asked the lady at the front why I was up charged and she told me that it was because I chose a different drink. Well I know this to be true I didn't think about it since it was my first time there and she did not tell me that it was going to be an up charge. I asked to speak to the manager, Josie stumbles to the counter, who as it turns out could care less about the customer and essentially told me that she will take the charge off and not give me the drink or I can keep the charge on if I want the drinks. Well the extra four dollars is not the biggest deal in the world, but it was a good chance to teach a little lesson to the kids in the back. Speak up when you feel something is not right. I told her that her employee should've told me that there was an up charge at which point I could've made that decision but instead know I was holding up the line while she refused to make it right. I told her I would just turn the car off and sit there until she fixed it at which point she immediately refunded the money and gave my kids their drinks. She said next time "you should know better" and then stormed off. Called the proprietor/operator of the restaurant, Rick, but he's yet to call me back after two messages. The food itself tasted fine, however I'm having second thoughts after watching the new documentary, holy chicken. Moral of the story is they think they're too good to have good customer service. I went to the door and an employee had my food. He first told me they had a lot of orders. The restaurant looked empty inside. Then he said they are short staffed. I bet they were doing nothing rather than bringing out the curbside orders. Avoid this place. read more

I usually love this location but today. There was a girl taking Drive Thru orders that had our lane held up. I literally watched 8 cars and 2 SUV'S in the lane next to me pass by and this girl was still taking the order of the same vehicle. The sad part is that a Manager stood next to her and allowed our lane to not move. Why could he not have helped her out 5 cars and 1 SUV in, then allow her to try again with every other car. That young Manager was not using his mind. Even a vehicle going to slow and holding up traffic has to pull over and let the traffic pass. read more

I had ONE item on my order, a combo of chick strips. They - no exaggeration - screwed up the order FOUR times. The chicken strips were about half the size of KFC for the same price, and they were pathetic looking and greasy. The waffle fries or whatever you call them I could have hung over a straw like a wet dish rag. They were cooked half or less what they should have been. I went home and threw the food away. I didn't even want to go back in line I was so disgusted. Without hesitation, this is the worst rating I have ever given on Yelp. I live very close to this place, 2 minutes or less away, but I will never return. I would rather drive 15-20 minutes to KFC or Raising Canes or even farther to Popeyes. We visited this location for dinner which is a semi staple for us. What my wife saw changed that. While changing my daughter in the restroom, she witnessed a worker use the restroom and not wash her hands. She left the restroom and proceeded to go back to work. We told another work who told the manager and the reply that the manager said was that she washed her hands before working. What's confusing to me is if that were true, why not retrace your steps to ensure the areas you touched were disinfected. I know this happens more often than we would like to admit but actually seeing it changes things. This is at no way a dig against their food. They make some damn good food . What I do know is that I will never return here to eat. When we wanted to talk to the manager, she was too busy to talk to us and sent her Team leader Jesse. We went there out of curiosity and because all the hype when it first opened. The first thing we noticed was all the staff running around in their uniforms. Kind of weird. However the place was clean and somewhat nicely decorated. As for the food, this is way too highly processed for me and much too salty. I can not understand what all the excitement is about. Everything seems likes it is previously frozen. In fact, I think the lettuce on the sandwich was the only thing that was fresh here. The bread tastes like mass produced factory bread. Seems to me this is food meant for places where pre-frozen deep fried food is ok, but San Diego is the wrong market for that. With all the super fresh food we have here, why eat frozen food they trucked cross the country? If you must have fried chicken there are much better alternatives than this.
