We were also surprised that we got out chicken about 2 minutes after ordering it! Big red flag!! This tells me that the chicken wasn't dipped and breaded fresh, or even oven warmed, but microwaved. The fries, being cold and soggy... could have been sitting all night and served to us the next day. Whatever the issue, when you go to a "fried chicken" place, you expect CRISPY fried chicken, not soggy microwaved chicken. It'd be nice to get hot and crispy fries as well. But, yeah, no dice here! We had actually tried out a new place, and were gravely disappointed. Two words, "fake" "meat". So, yeah, with the nastiness of the previous place leaving us yearning for a good burger (other than those from home!), we were in the area after a long day of sports nearby, and decided to grab a couple of burgers. Again, it's not fast food. There were some disappointments, but not deal breakers... 1) The burger patty on my burger was about 2" x 3" It was pretty d TINY!! But...at least it was real meat, lol!! And THAT is what we went there for. The bun? These are homemade and usually very good. The top bun on my burger was hard as a rock. It was either stale to begin with, or microwaved after it was toasted. Not too much of a deal cus I'm low carb anyway, though I had planned on breaking my diet for what I already knew would be a tasty house made bun. So, I wasn't too put off, by having an inedible bun. As it was, the under bun was perfect, and toasted with garlic.... and I DID break my diet for this, which I ate by itself. This bread is tdf! So there's that! Since I planned on breaking my diet anyway, I went ahead and order fries. The fries were not greasy like they used to be years ago. But they didn't seem fresh either, like they were years ago. Not soggy, not bad. I'll let it pass. We don't like seasonings on our fries so we got them "naked", and they were actually pretty good that way. No salt, nothing (though I did, later on pour on some gooey cheese for some nice cheese fries). The burger itself was good. I got the mushroom swiss burger. I'm not so sure that the white goo on my burger was swiss though. I've never seen swiss melt into almost nothing like that before. Perhaps it was grated? Still, never seen gooey almost liquid swiss before. I think it was either "swiss cheese product" (white american cheese), or provolone or something. Would have been nice, like tdf if it had been real swiss cheese. The grilled onions, fresh meat, fresh bottom bun (lol) made this burger. Also, again, I appreciate that they put garnishments on the side. I just ate them straight up, including the giant leaf of lettuce. A good overall meal. So even if Voodoo disappoints in some areas, there's always a treasure somewhere, and it was an enjoyable meal. Take away from this... wish the buns weren't stale or microwaved. Wish the burger patty was a decent size, not slider sized. Wish the swiss cheese was real swiss cheese. Not even gonna say I wish prices were lower, that's a given. My burger with fries was over $15.

I had tacos with beans and rice. Mom had enchiladas and my cousins had fajitas. Everything was delicious. My cousin and I had monster margaritas. I thought I was going to be twisted after drinking it, but it obviously had little alcohol. Neither of us felt the effects. Oh well. I had the cucumber monster margarita and it was tasty, but... don't think there was any alcohol in there! There was 6 of us. It did take awhile for the food to be served, but I'm sure that was because it was fresh! Good stuff. Check it out.

After six years I decided to give Chick-fil-A another try even though I am not excited about their…read morelimited menu. But, I was intrigued with their new Jalapeno Ranch Club Sandwich which has been getting some very good reviews lately. What I discovered on my 2026 visit was that much of my prior review has passed the test of time. Much of that earlier evaluation still stands. The Chick-fil-A restaurant on University Ave impresses from the orderly state of the rear drive up and parking area to the well lighted, bright, clean, and open interior. Inside this is a comfortable place to dine and it also features a nice, covered outdoor patio. It is indeed a wonder that so many people still use the drive up window. You order at the counter and they hand you your beverage glass already filled. You find a table and they bring the food out to your table. Prices are reasonable but the menu is limited. The service is always quick and most pleasant. Most of the negative reviews on Yelp seem to concern the drive up take out window service. I cannot comment on that as I've never ordered that way. But, there always seems to be a long line at the Chick-fil-A drive up windows so many folks must be satisfied with that service despite the horror stories found on Yelp. Today I ordered their new Jalapeno Ranch Club chicken sandwich with their waffle fries, and their new Strawberry Hibiscus Sprite drink (oh, what the heck, try something different.) The drink I did not care for: the flavor was not only a bit weak but a little weird. I am not a fan. Give the drink a "C." I would not order it again. As revealed in my earlier review I am not a fan of their waffle fries. I once again found them lacking crispness and seasoning and being chewy and soft and lacking flavor on the inside. Lacking good sides is, for me, a real negative for Chick-fil-A. It is, along with such a restrictive menu, what keeps me away. Rate the waffle fries a "C-." They needed a lot of salt! On the other hand the chicken sandwich was very good. A large lightly breaded chicken breast was enclosed by a high quality flavorful bun. The jalapeno ranch sauce came in several little packets. This sauce was creamy and tasty with a little kick. I added a lot to the sandwich which included leaf lettuce, tomato, pepper jack cheese, jalapenos, and a lot of crispy bacon. This was one very good chicken sandwich. It is most likely the best fast food chicken sandwich around. Rate it a "B+." Thus, nice ambiance, pleasant efficient service, a well organized parking lot, a really good chicken sandwich, and reasonable prices are THE POSITIVES. THE NEGATIVES were the drink, the sub-standard waffle fries (despite the fact that people seem to enjoy them???), and the limited menu choices. On balance, give the overall dining experience around THREE AND A HALF STARS....meaning fairly good for a fast food restaurant...but it could be so much better. How long before my next visit? Hard to say.
