Waited at the window while they served meals and drinks to everyone behind us in line and then was asked what the name was for the order and to pull forward and wait. Not this time, I had to insist they give us our two drinks. Really? Everyone who was in front of us was already through as well as several cars in the second lane that were behind us. Apparently, in their rush to get meals out they can't seem to handle a simple order for two drinks. Since this is the third time and each time experiencing the same thing, maybe more training is needed on handling the your customers in the order that orders are taken. Three strikes and you are out. The place was super busy and packed. Even still they took our order very fast. The place was clean and neat. It took us awhile to get our food but that was because they were so busy. When the lady brought our food she apologized for the wait. The food was amazing. I had the spicy chicken sandwich. I had just the right amount of spice to it. The waffle fries were delicious. After we were done eating we order a shake and ice cream cone. The ice cream cone was really good. I truly did enjoy it. My mom got the shake. She drink it all and said it was really good. I get that they are busy but they are way under staffed. I allotted 20 minutes and get there to car lines way backed up. I go in and the same thing. My experience here the other day was a hot mess. It starts with the same thing that's true of many chic-fil-a restaurants: you get physically trapped in their drive thru line. So like today was for me, if you want to get out of the drive-thru line (which I did today because there was a technological glitch that caused the line i was in to stop moving for about 10-15 mins) you're stuck. The people doing drive thru also try to take your order when you're 10 feet from their outdoor menu board. And the outdoor menu is not angled in a way that allows you to see it unless you're right in front of it. So you're stuck in line, but can't be deciding on your meal while you wait. "Can I take your order?" -- sorry but i don't have the menu memorized...can we get somewhere so that i can actually see it? another time my spouse ordered a breakfast sandwich from here, got it home and discovered that the biscuit had no chicken patty in it. This is by far the filthiest chick fil a I've ever been to. Worst service and dirtiest. Came on a Thursday (drive-they) driving to San Antonio, waited God knows how long for our order. The girl handing meals didn't even know who's order was who's. They had so many orders on the window outside waiting to hand them out. That must be a health dept issue as there are bugs. Got our meal and our large fries were not even half way full the carton. Food was cold. Called and complained and was told I would get a complimentary meal just say my name and phone number. Came back today (Monday) and guess what?! They didn't have my name in the system. They still granted the complimentary meal but then noticed the entire store was extremely dirty. It wasn't even that busy inside. Restrooms didn't have toilet paper. Trash can filled to the top with baby diapers to the top. Disgusting!!! I love Chick-fil-A (I used to pronounce it "chick fill uh" as a kid)!!! This location in San Marcos, however, holds a special place in my heart. The people who work there are super friendly with their "my pleasure" responses, but that's not why it's so unique. There is a lady who has worked there ever since I've moved to San Marcos four years ago who is the most friendly and service-oriented person I've ever met at a fast food establishment. She walks with a slight limp, but never seems cross or tired. Whenever I eat inside the restaurant (which isn't very often), I always hope to see her because her attitude and the way she carries herself just makes me smile. I brought my family visiting from London to eat here before they left town and told them about her when we entered. Fortunately, she was there that day. We numbered six people and were sitting at a booth and my brother asked the lady if we could move one of the tables to connect to the booth. She thanked us for asking, and as my brother made a move to get some more things from the condiments counter, she insisted that he stay seated and that she get the items for him so he can enjoy being with his family. I'm always impressed by her charm and smile and willingness to help anyone who walks through those doors. I only feel guilty because I really should know her name by now. Anyway, thank you Chick-fil-A for the great service and for employing such warm-hearted people! Really shows out-of-staters the Texas hospitality we are known for. Also, just a little tip: If you really want your fries or food super fresh out of the fryer, ask for "extra crispy." We had the pleasure of visiting this Chick-fil-A resteraunt on our way into Austin. We've been to a lot of Chick-fil-A's but this particular one stood out to be THE BEST ONE EVER!!! When we drove up, the parking lot was packed with cars but that doesn't stop this place from serving its customers. You have multiple ways to order your food. You can use the drive thru or place your order in the parking lot and park in a reserved parking spot while the food is brought out to you. The waiters and waitresses are awesome! They are constantly checking to make sure you have everything (napkins, refills, etc.) If you need a refill, they will take your cup and get it for you. They are extremely polite too. I watched a guy leaving with his cup and one of the waiters asked if he could fill the cup for the road. You gotta love it! Corporate needs to come and visit this restaurant.. I can assure you, you will never find another one like it. They could use it as a model to train other franchise owners. Who ever owns and manages this restaurant, KEEP UP THE GREAT JOB!!! p.s. I think the best way to avoid these lines could be this new Chick-fil-A app that allows you to order and then pick it up in store. Parking sometimes at this location can be a little bit of a nightmare, with a small parking lot of the chase bank as well as a chipotle. My favorite meal of choice: spicy chicken sandwich no pickle.
