Breakfast this morning was at the Chick‑Fil‑A in the Main Terminal, groundside, the one front and center in the main lobby where anyone can walk up without a boarding pass, which makes it a surprisingly easy stop whether you're flying or waiting to meet inbound travelers. Just after I ordered, Delta chimed in with the news that I'd be enjoying an extra two hours here, which was not exactly the early morning gift I was hoping for. I went with the spicy chicken biscuit combo, a small coffee, and a small box of hash browns, and the whole thing came out incredibly fast. It wasn't even four minutes from the moment I wrapped up my kiosk order until my number was called, and I really do love ordering on the kiosk because it keeps the whole process smooth and predictable. I grabbed a couple of creamers and found a quiet seat tucked behind the restaurant where there's a clear view of the ramp and plenty of power outlets, a little pocket of calm that works well when you're trying to settle in and make the best of an unexpected delay. Just don't lose track of time back there because you still have to catch the shuttle train to your terminal and then enjoy your morning massage from the TSA, and that part of the journey always takes longer than you think. Main terminal. Too bad I have to give a bad review because the food was good. You get this one star due to your horrible customer service. I stood in line for 2 minutes then an extra 3 minutes at the counter with nobody in front or behind me. Why? I watched 4-5 workers ignore me at the counter. No one wanted to see me. Mind me I am LE and had my badge on. 2 minutes later I'm being asked have I been helped yet as if there were anyone in front or behind me and you all watched me stand for 2 minutes. Not a word from them. Luckily the nice sorry I don't remember her name but she told me she was Indian helped me out. Then after I left more customers came and I notice everyone but the lady who helped me came up to the register to begin helping other customers. I understand working in the service industry is hard, but for Chick-fil-A's brand and motto to serve customers, it was severely lacking. Unless you're flying on a Sunday, this is a great option to grab some food before or after your flight. The line moved very quickly, and even as I debated looking for a table while waiting, the food was ready. There are a few tables around the side of the ordering area and of course all the tables around the gates. Price isn't astronomically higher due to the convenient location. There aren't a ton of eateries in this terminal, but this is my go-to option if it is open due to taste, efficiency, and pricing. read more

I was so pleased to see a Chick-fil-A when we arrived at Tampa Airport just in time for lunch. This is a small location with plenty of people working here and plenty of room to sit with your lunch. It was nice to just walk here and not have to worry about parking. Enter... I have never been lucky enough to come in without a line, but... it moves pretty quickly. The team here is so welcoming and courteous and that is definitely a trademark of Chick-Fil-A. The whole team comes with a smile. After a quick wait on line we had our regular meal.... Chick-Fil-A original, and a grilled Chick-fil-A for my wife, both with waffle fries. The fried sandwich was really good... better than I remember it. Tasty-tender and moist. The grilled chicken was also perfect if you don't eat fried food... My wife does not eat fried food. Their sauces are really good, we went with the sweet sriracha. Can you believe -- this was the first time that we have ever eaten from a Chick-Fil-A? We don't have one of these franchises near our home, so we decided to check it out while looking to eat lunch before our flight out of the Tampa International Airport. My husband ordered an original Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich, which is a seasoned boneless breast of chicken, freshly breaded and pressure cooked in peanut oil, and served on a toasted, buttery bun with two dill pickle chips. (He rated it as very good but, for his tastes, he shouldn't ordered the Deluxe in order to also get lettuce and tomato). I got a Grilled Chicken Sandwich (excellent), which is a lemon-herb marinated grilled boneless breast of chicken, served on a toasted multigrain bun with green leaf lettuce and tomato. We also shared a Waffle Fries, diet soda (free refills), and a Chick-fil-A dipping sauce. The ordering line moved quickly, staff were very friendly, our food arrived fresh and hot, and there was plentiful seating. And, it all tasted great. read more

With flight's being cancelled this week we had decided to grab something to eat being that we were stuck for a while. The cashier was very nice, addressed by my name. Always a nice touch. Although they were busy the line moved quickly. Our order was correct and fresh, which is always a plus. A good spot I found myself back at TPA, and this time we had the time to stop at the Chick-fil-A in the main terminal next to Wendy's. There was a line, but with three registers going it did move ok. One we got to one of those registers an efficient order taker took our order, poured a couple of drinks we wanted, and we moved over to the left to wait for my name to be called. Our wait was probably about 7 minutes. The orders were not filled in order, ours took longer, I assume because we were getting a variety of things. There is a common area with several tables, we were able to get one. I had ordered their Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich, which was high quality, just like from other Chick-fil-A restaurants not in airports. To me, the only tiny negative was our order taker didn't ask what dipping sauce we wanted with some nuggets. I didn't think of it either, which resulted in another trip to the counter. read more

I'm gonna start off to say I am totally aggravated and upset with my experience. I love chick fil an and I did not except to have a such a bad experience with them but it has happen. It all started when I got to Tampa International airport, and got hungry for chick fil a. I had a flight to catch at 10:28 and could not board any later than that. Apparently, lunch was only at 10:30 and that when they would start serving Mac n cheese, fries, chicken nuggets, etc. Before 10:30 they were selling, literally biscuit everything all of it looked flavorless and horrid so I chose not to buy at that time. There was little to no one in the line which is unusual for a place like chick fil a. All that could mean is that the food they were serving sucked. And it did I saw multiple people walk up to the line look up at what they were serving and turn away in the opposite direction. It was 10:20 and i had to board my flight at 10:28 I asked my dad to ask If they could make an exception and they refused. I don't understand why they couldn't serve Mac n cheese and fries 10 fricking minutes earlier to say the least I'm upset and pissed at this. I have a 3 hour flight coming up and they couldn't make a exception for Mac n cheese and fries 5 minutes before lunch serving time. it's disappointing and embarrassing. I cannot express how upset I am at this and how unprofessional this experience was. I still don't see why they couldn't serve me 5 mins early. read more

First time eating at this TPA location. It is a fine Chick-Fil-A. Wait time was 6-7 min to order. Pleasant staff, smiled, purposeobit not rushed. Food ready super quick (just a market salad, get it from the fridge). Bottom line: this is an airport Chick-fil-A, no surprises, and seems to me about your most dependable option in the area (hope this part of the TPA gets some more offerings). I normally like Chick-fil-A restautants, have eaten in 30+ of them about 100 times in total, have been to Little Blue Menu (their awesome test kitchen in Maryland), but this location has convinced me to avoid the chain. It's always kind of mediocre in the ~5 times I've been there, but even a mediocre Chick-fil-A location is decent by overall fast food standards. However, I went on the 24th, and on top of a long line (where some people would use the queue for both person and self-check, and others would just bypass the line for self-check; they set it up so it's unclear if the line is just for human), I finally got to place my order (peach shake and 12 nuggets). Then an even longer wait, and "sorry, no peach milkshake." At that point I was annoyed but not actually angry so I asked to cancel my entire order. Check-in person went to the back to get an assistant manager, took a while, Abi came out, and when I asked for a refund, he refused to refund (they'd delivered none of my order; as we were standing there the nuggets came up but I never collected.). I realized getting into a fight with a food service worker at an airport was a bad idea, and I was already late for my flight (had stopped because I hadn't eaten all day and was about to go to a flight without food), so I just gave him my receipt, said I'd charge it back with American Express, and walked off. Complained to Chick-Fil-A and to the Tampa Airport (IDK if this is a corp-owned location or a franchise), charge back the huge $15.19 charge (it's principle, IDK much about $15 since it'd be expensed anyway), wrote this review, and now I'll find another fast food chain to patronize (I miss In-n-Out from the West Coast, but unlikely we'll get those anytime soon.) read more

If you need a Chick-Fil-A fix before leaving Tampa this is your last chance to fill up. It's a convenient location right in the main terminal. Lots of tables and chairs really close by. It's not a complete menu but they have just about anything you might want be craving. They open at 5am and if you are used to outstanding and friendly customer service this location is no different. The place looks new and is very bright and clean. I had the mini chicken and biscuits combo for the first time and it was really good. It came with hash browns, OJ and of course the amazing signature sauce. I was very happy they opened in time so I could have some breakfast before my long flight to LA. The food tasted great and service was superb. We need more Chick-Fil-A's in Airports. read more

This is not chick fil a's fault but this place is terrible; becoming and expected of any food service at an airport! Service is terrible, rude, and snotty. The cashier taking our order was hostile and insufferable; the gentleman handing out the food was rude, knowing that repeat business is not the name of the game. Their limited breakfast menu helps them move quickly through a line. I have a confession, I've never eaten breakfast at Chick Fil A. I actually never ate fast food until I met my husband and I still mainly eat it only if he is going. I also almost never eat airport food, but here we are. Of course, I ate breakfast before we left, but my husband decided 10 minutes before we board that he wants Chick Fil A. This is the same man who is making us go straight to In N Out once we land in San Franscisco. There goes my dreams of dim sum for the day, but I digress. The menu is limited at breakfast. For example, you can't get fries. You can get a milkshake, but no fries - weird. At least you can get hash browns to complement your meal. We get a combo meal of the four mini chicken biscuits. Since the menu is so limited, you don't even have to move off to the side, the same cashier packs together your bag and off you go. The food is still pretty fresh this way because of the reasonably high turnover. The mini chicken and biscuits are good - chick fil a does chicken well. I like the little hash brown dippers. We got sweet tea and I got a sip before my husband yanked it back saying I can't have caffeine (first child, we're going a little overboard). I do love their sweet tea - it still has a strong iced tea taste, just with loads of sugar. Overall, it was a great, albeit unhealthy, breakfast. read more

This is the chick-fil-a of NOs, they do not accept the app or rewards points, they do not offer even half of the regular menu and they could not take my order correctly which was really simple. BUT, when they gave me my order they knew I was upset with my experience with the cashier (I'm guessing maybe she's new or not new to upsetting customers). The manager fixed my order, no extra charge and apologized for the poor experience. So it's not terrible, the food was good quality maybe just a random bad cashier experience for me. read more

My last Chick Fil A trip for at least 6 months was soiled. My wife ordered a diet lemonade and was asked no less than 6 times what she wanted. Finally she was given her drink, a Diet Coke. Obviously, not the correct order. Then the food was finally given to us. At last, the lords chicken is about to enter my body and fuel my vessel. But ah, the order is wrong again. She is gluten free, and ordered the grilled chicken, but was given breaded nuggets instead. Amaya took my order. She smiled as she took my order and was patient and kind natured. Five star service, given by a happy and personable employee. Unfortunately, my grilled chicken Club was awful. The bun was as tasteless as the dried out chicken. The bun disintegrated into a wet and sloppy mess. The lukewarm chicken sandwich had no taste, this was not the Chick-Fil-A I have craved and enjoyed the past many, many times I have eaten at this location.
