My coworker and I stopped by this spot recently since we work just down the road and had heard great things from our team about this hidden gem inside the Hilton Garden Inn. The place has such a stylish, coastal vibe--super cute and immaculately clean! We kicked things off with the Caesar salad and the soup of the day, both of which were delicious. For the main course, my coworker had the skirt steak sandwich, and I tried the crab and avocado flatbread. The sandwich was fantastic, and the bread really elevated the dish. My flatbread was a standout, loaded with plenty of fresh crab. Our server, Danele, was amazing--he really went above and beyond to make our experience special. We visited Coast with our family. This restaurant is in a very lovely hotel in Tampa near Tampa International airport. We were seated immediately at about 5 pm when this restaurant opens. The host and our waitress Bri were friendly, well informed about the menu and food was really delicious. We ordered from the hand held menu (southern chicken), bowls (salmon) and our family ordered steak and grouper entrees. Wine and dessert is also available and a full bar. The restaurant is open but there is only order off the menu with service from the kitchen. The buffet is no longer an option. They will customize the food from the menu but it is very, very limited. Eggs prepared a few ways, a few meat choices, (ham, bacon, pork or chicken sausage, and turkey bacon) The chicken sausage is very sweet. The breakfast burrito is loaded with eggs, meat and cheese. It comes with potatoes and a side of salsa. The poached eggs were cooked just like I like them, very soft and runny. The coffee is Starbucks and they also carry Tazo teas. Our server was efficient and brought our food to us as soon as it was cooked. Hot and tasty, I just wish there was a little more variety. Maybe some yogurt, cottage cheese, or grits. They were not anywhere on the menu and I am not sure if they could be requested. Might have to ask tomorrow morning as we are staying here at the Hilton Garden Inn another night. read more

Chicken was grilled. Accompanied fries was crispy. The Margherita is a flatbread top with chop steak with mozzarella cheese. It very good. Overall the food is good. The wait is a bit longer for the food. The reason is three stars is due to waiter didn't pay attention to the table. Even we try to flag him down. Lunch during office hour usually is short. Im from Colorado, lived there my whole life, so I'm in no way a seafood snob. i ordered the Mahi Mahi and when I tell you it was the worst seafood I've ever had... It was obviously old and microwaved, no seasoning, no sauce and the price was outrageous. The service was MUCH worse than the food. the servers had attitudes, argued with my guests about their dairy allergies and then the waitress proceeded to invite another server over and blatantly talk very disrespectful about us right in front of us. The front desk worker was also extremely short with us and borderline rude. The only thing I know for sure are these workers are not properly trained in customer service and are not good with people. I never leave reviews but I had to go out of my way to write this so no one else's waits time or money on this restaurant, especially since there are many better options than this one in the area. The one star is for the ambiance, which was just fine. Attached pictures of my room key, and the restaurant coupon incase management has the audacity to say I wasn't there or this didn't happen. I liked this little place inside the Hilton Garden Inn Tampa. I've so far only had breakfast there but I really like the atmosphere and the staff working in the restaurant is VERY friendly and very accommodating. For breakfast it's a fairly typical buffet with delicious baked goods, fruit and eggs, potatoes, bacon, etc. They have a customized egg cooking station (very nice and friendly chef cooking you up eggs to order) and waffles and the like. I love the decor of the restaurant, it is very European and modern in style and i love the square little creamer container they have on each table. I took a look at the lunch and dinner menu and the prices seemed reasonable (not outrageous hotel prices like some restaurants in hotels) with things from $9 to market price and every thing in between. The menu sounded creative and healthy. They do seem to be busy during lunch and dinner when I have gone by so the food can't be terrible ;) If I get the chance, I will definitely have to come back and try the lunch or dinner there. read more

After a busy day out, we decided to stop by Coast for some food after hearing good things about it. We got a steak flatbread, grouper nuggets, truffle fries and the daily special (a corned beef sandwich). Everything was top notch and delicious. We learned that everything is house made, and it showed in the food. The grouper nuggets were lightly fried and fresh and the sandwich, fries and flatbread were so delicious. Service was great as well! We are locals to Tampa, so we wouldn't normally think to eat at a hotel, but this experience changed our mind completely! read more

Nate was a fantastic server and host. The food was good. This year we stayed at the Hilton Garden inn for a conference at another hotel next door. The hotel exceeded expectations. We ate at the bar both Friday and Saturday nights. Friday Nate was there again, and a super experience. The wings were exceptional and the cobb salad delicious. Saturday Jan took care of us. We met 3 groups of people at the bar, all who go there because they are friends of Jan, and were all interesting and welcoming. my wife had the grouper picata (delicious) and I had fish tacos (spicy and tasty). The Homewood Suites across the street doesn't have a full restaurant, but luckily, the Hilton Garden Inn across the street does, and they've worked it out so that Homewood guests can order room service from Coast. I took advantage the one night that the Homewood didn't have free dinner, and I'm glad I did. It took me a while to decide what to order, because several of the menu items looked amazing. I eventually decided on a salad and a half pizza. Yes, they sell half pizzas, which is the best idea ever. More pizza places should do this. Mostly so I don't order a whole one and ending up eating the entire thing. But that's beside the point. I had the house salad, described on the menu as iced greens, roasted peppers, pine nuts, red onion, smoked bacon and sweet pepper vinaigrette. The iced greens were very heavy on the dandelion greens, which I can't stand. So that made me a little sad. But everything else about the salad was excellent. The pepper vinaigrette was perfect - similar to a catalina or french dressing but a little thicker and a little sweeter. The pine nuts just added a little something different. I would have loved to have had more greens - if I get the chance to order it again, I may ask for it on spinach instead. The half pizza was probably about a 10 or 12 inch pizza - not big slices, but not tiny. The crust was crisp, and the sauce was very tasty. All in all, a mighty tasty pizza, but nothing super special or different about it. It was pretty much what I was hoping for. Apparently the entire menu is that good - I got back one night and there were a few cops hanging out that apparently come into the Homewood and order dinner from Coast on a regular basis. Definitely better food than I've experienced in the past in hotels of a Hilton Garden Inn type - more along the lines of what I would have expected at a regular Hilton. Also the staff was very friendly. The restaurant is small and quite. I might just stay and dine next time. I had the herb chicken sandwich with garlic truffle fries. The sandwich was ok. There was a nice combined flavor of the chicken with the arugula. I thought the bread was a little on the thick side. I'm a fan of good bread to meat ratio. The garlic truffle fries were good but I didn't find them terribly different than any other garlic flavored fries. The price is on the $10+ range. Best hotel restaurant food I can recall. Located in the Hilton Gardens off O'Brien just south of the Airport. Went there after trying some samples at the Dine Tampa Bay kick-off.....and wanting to have more from their $25 three course special menu. There were 3 options in each category, so we shared great beef satay and generous fried calamari apps, good salmon with rich salad as well as tender filet with mashed taters, followed by bourbon bread pudding and chocolate mousse that we intended to take home but somehow consumed before boxing. The portions were perfect, so we left satisfied without stuffing. Nice upscale touches such as a fine corn/avocado relish with the satays, great calamari toppings, and a cinnamon-shaker outline of a fork on the dessert plate. Service by Catrina was unusually attentive and skillful as we arrived early and had nearly her entire attention. We also checked out the regular menu that offered other items of interest, and a good beer/wine list. Prices on some items are a bit high, but not for hotel food. And the $25 special was a real deal. I love this restaurant. I have been staying at this hotel for a while. Their food is fresh and great quality for a lobby hotel restaurant. The wine list is short. But hood. I always have the Coast house salad light dressing. They can add salmon, shrimp, chicken or steak. They had flat breads. Appetizers. And every day they have different specials. They served Starbucks coffee. Their coffee is not available all day thou. Is always nice to be able to eat great food in your hotel after a long day of work. I appreciate that Hilton is upgrading their food and service options for guest. If around, give them a chance. Their prices are not high. This place was such a fabulous surprise!!! Drove to stay overnight for an early flight and we were starving. Went down to eat at the Coast and it was so darn good. My hubby had the seafood chowder soap & fish tacos - delicious!!! I had burger and garlic fries - so great. Then we shared the creme brulie - wow, had 3 flavors, so GOOD. We would eat here anytime we are in the area, nice and clean, and the staff - esp. Brittany, she was so attentive and a did a wonderful job. Very good price and taste for a buffet. $11.95 is quite decent for the choices which include cheese blintz (see my plate). The cheese blintz is a pancake/crepe-like pastry filled with ricotta cheese, cream cheese and confectioner's sugar. Like I said, nice to see in a buffet. Lots of flavored bagels like blueberry, cinnamon, oatmeal, etc... Bowls of pre-cut grapefruit that are covered with Saran Wrap so nice to transport to table. Individual cereal boxes, scrambled eggs, thick sausage, thick bacon, huge potatoes with bell peppers and onions, fruit, oatmeal and do not forget your cooked-to-order options: French toast, pancakes and omelets. So as far as my French toAst, do not expect NYC challah bread yummy. Expect wheat bread dipped in egg and fried normal. Again it is a buffet and we are south not North so my quest for a decent French toast in the Southern states, Western States and Mid-Western states will continue. Hint for French Toast: use yellowish Challah bread...it will look like Egg bread. Eat in a NYC diner and you will get it!
