We have been to this location hundreds of time - was our go-to during COVID. Went a few weeks ago, husband got a sandwich meal and the chicken was 1/2 gristle. He flagged down one of the employees to show her and she said 'I can't touch your food' - do you want a manager? Completely understand, asked for a manager. A female employee came over and asked what was wrong, my husband explained to her. She said 'We ask that you not curse at our employees." WHAT??? At no point did he curse or even raise his voice at her. I told her he did neither cursed nor raised his voice and all she said was 'Well, do you want another sandwich or what?'. I just spent $17 for an $11.79 order from Chick-fil-A because I had it delivered. The food arrived 25 minutes after they said it would, everything was cold, I just microwaved everything for 30 seconds to at least get some heat back in and that didn't help at all. The chicken was bland and it was supposed to be hot and spicy. The little packet of hot sauce they gave you to put on the sandwich was practically impossible to open without a scissors, the fries, because I had to microwave, them went soggy. Nothing tasted like it should have and I'm thoroughly dissatisfied. The piece of chicken was so bland and stringy that I wound up giving half of it to my dog. At least she liked it. Will I ever order delivery from Chick-fil-A again? No. Will I even go back there after years away after this experience? No. Frankly, I would advise folks to try the KFC chicken sandwich. Much, much better. And if you're going to offer delivery through DoorDash or Instacart, at least let the drivers put everything in a hot bag to keep it hot like other restaurants offer. read more

I will say firstly that I am ride-or-die Chick-Fil-A. Like I would choose it for my last meal. Having said that, this is the second time we've experienced the following scenario at *this specific* location Chick-Fil-A. The nugs were ordered as an 8 piece. As you can see, there are maybe 5 pieces - if I'm being generous. But worse than shorting us, is the rest of the box (look closely) was practically filled with scraps of fried breading leftovers. And if that weren't enough, our beloved waffle fries were half full of cold scraps as well, with a few *well-placed* full size waffle fries at the top, to appear to be full. This cannot be an accident - not on a Saturday, pre-dinner rush. "Fool me once" comes to mind, because I should have checked the order before driving home 3 miles straight up a mountain. But I'll repeat, this is only for *this* location. I've never experienced this at any CFA. And we're "Signature Members", because we patronise them so much on our travels (and I love nugs). As we drove from TN to Charlotte Airport, we took a detour to have lunch at this CFA location which was about 6 miles off our route. Upon arrival, we were able to find parking up front right away but the line inside was pretty long. As with most CFA locations, however, the queue moved along quickly as several registers were open the team in the back were efficient in preparing orders. I liked that they brought our orders out to us instead of waiting at the counter as is required at many CFAs I have dined at in other states. The food came out at the right temperatures - freshly cooked, as I've come to expect at CFA. My major complaint, however, was that my sandwich completely fell apart the instant I picked it up. I added Polynesian sauce to the sandwich, as I usually do. It was a generous - but not copious amount - but this demolition was something new to me! I was struggling to keep the keep the sandwich together and ultimately failed. I am not a fan of messy sandwiches, particularly when I am not expecting it and the sandwich was not created to be that. That really but a damper on my enjoyment so I must dock a whole star for that alone (and I'm trying to not be petty here). To me, CFA is known for their quality in all aspects and I'm not sure if this sandwich's ingredients just weren't assembled in the right order or carefully enough. High points are the service, seating availability, and general upkeep of the dining area and restrooms. Food prep on this visit though was not what I am accustomed to at CFA. read more

Used to love this place, and we spend a lot of money here...but over the last few months,or year, the service has seriously deteriorated. While the staff is always courteous, I have lost count of the number of times they have screwed up our order. A couple of days ago, we got take out and drove away. When we finally stopped to eat, my Southwest salad was missing both the pepitas and the tortilla strips, and there was no fork! I had a toothpick in the glove compartment and I ended up trying to stab the lettuce to eat it, but of course, you can't eat the corn or black beans with a toothpick. Oh, AND they neglected to put the Splenda in for my husband's ice tea...a VERY common mistake of theirs, to the point that we now carry a zip-loc of Splenda in our glovebox, because they forget it so frequently. Total fail at the drive thru. Ordered 3 minis, 2 muffin sandwiches and 2 biscuit sandwiches. Took 15 minutes to get to the window. Had our order ready, and we jump in the road headed home to Atlanta. Get to Sylvia and no biscuit sandwiches and only 2 mini orders. 3 people in the car with no food. Fortunately McDonalds saved the day. Tried to complain in the app where I placed my mobile order but no email, and when we called, the young girl acted like it wasn't their fault. We come to Lake Junaluska a lot, and that was our first and last visit to this Chick Fil A. They don't care about their customers. Looking at past reviews, it seems as if our incident is pretty common at this location. I complained to corporate when this happened and got a programmed reply from an email you can't reply to. I've usually thought of Chick Fil-A as the gold standard upon which all other fast food chains could be judged. Far and away, they have had a different caliber of worker at every location. Also, I'm used to never having to check my order for accuracy with any Chick Fil-A. Both of these qualities were always the case with the Waynesville location until fairly recently. As most restaurants and businesses have had issues with staffing, it seems this Chick Fil-A has not been spared those problems, either. The past four consecutive trips to this location have been disappointing. The first time, the order was correct, but the waffle fries were so salty that my wife couldn't eat them. The last three times have resulted in mistakes with our order. One was missing all the sauces for the nuggets and an incorrect item being substituted for one of the entrees. The second trip resulted in a similar experience - instead of an order of nuggets, my wife was given a chicken deluxe sandwich. The third mistake was for a replacement meal for one of the previous goofed up meals. The irony of this doesn't escape me, either. When I had called and spoken with a manager about the mistakes, she had two comped meals for me and one of those, the workers got wrong. They didn't include an order of fries or a bottled water. The fourth goofed order was at breakfast when I was given a biscuit sandwich instead of an English muffin sandwich. It was this 4th trip in a row that I decided that I couldn't trust that my order was correct as I always had before. I resolved that I will now have to check my order every time before I leave the parking lot. With regards to the customer service, it went from excellent or "Chick-Fil-A" level to just meh. They aren't rude, but they're not nearly as friendly or hospitable as they once were. It's just more like they are being perfunctory in their duties. read more

As if we need a third fast food restaurant in Waynesville offering us deceased fowl which can cause human decease due to antibiotics fed to said fowl so that they do not become deceased while in their gulag. Who am I kidding?! I tried C-f-A back in 2005ish, right after I flicked my vegetarian angel off my shoulder. I discovered its secret right away- good food that causes satisfaction. Well, most of the time. Anyway, when this C-f-A opened in Waynesville a few months ago, you would have thought that it was a new night club aimed at Manic-Panic-ed twentysomethings. Except that all the action is taking place during the hours in which a solar deity bestows upon us his gifts. The parking lot is so packed that my husband opined that maybe peeps (pun intended) part of a carpool program got permission to park there. Maybe, because upon entering, you can get a table. The place is mostly clean (you might get a table before it has been attended to), modernly decorated, and spacious. It is action packed with a lot of bustling people. Employees bring you the portion of your meal that was not instantly ready, and kids alternate between fry raids and the indoor playground. Note: The slide will forever be blocked by aggressive toddlers, top and bottom. (My daughter cannot let go.) Condiments and dinnerware are easy to find, with tons of bonuses to boot (e.g. wet wipes, lemon juice). Ask for beverage refills at the counter. The food is hit-or-miss. My husband was surprised that I feel this way. So far, both of my fried chicken sandwiches have had too oily buns, and the breading on the chicken was too salty. My chicken salad sandwich was just fine. The nuggets were too salty for me. The fries are indescribable. Metallic or chlorinated- I could not pinpoint it. I also thought of a cow, so I have no idea. Probably just not fully cooked. They are rushing right now in order to serve the mobs- I believe this will improve with time. You can turn in your kid's meal gift and get ice cream instead. It is delicious, vanilla, and they even give you a lid without asking for car travel. The employees are super nice. The bathroom is clean, but smallish. The changing table is within the wheelchair accessible stall, which does not seem ethical. If you have kids, you've seen it all. C-f-A's chicken still gets a B in "Antibiotics 101". This is good. They are presently working on getting an A by 2019. C-f-A has stopped supporting the several organizations that they endorsed that endorse the oppression of certain personal liberties. They still support "The Fellowship of Christian Athletes", which got in some hot water for trying to convince all football players to thank Jesus and not practice for making that touchdown. I will be watching C-f-A like a hawk. Yes, watching. Watching and eating. Update on 5/24/17: Fries have improved. Customer service is outstanding. read more

The food was brought out quickly to our table and the was always someone stopping back to check our table or see if we needed anything. The restaurant and bathrooms are very clean. You may occasionally get to a table before it's wiped down, but that is not often. I also appreciate the fresh flower touch on the tables! Thy have great food selections. I recommend the southwestern chicken salad with creamy salsa dressing if you are wanting to switch things up. All the food we received was fresh and well cooked.
