I found this little hole in the wall on Yelp. I came to Chick Flag on a Friday to grab some food with one other person. I believe the outside of the spot is called Chick Roll not chick Flag. It wasn't super busy when we came but there were two other parties there and some people who came to order for take out. Chick Flag specializes in wings and sushi rolls. They also have a variety of other items on their menu including bowls and katsu sandwiches. I got some wings and a bowl of ramen to share. I got their 8 piece hot spicy soy wings which were fried hard (without asking). They were pretty good. The person I came with enjoyed the original wings. The ramen we got can be made with meats or without meats. We got ours spicy but you can get it without spice. It was good and had some veggies in it. But nothing crazy good. It was a nice side item to have with us. They also had some jalapenos out on the side if you want to grab some yourself. The inside of the restaurant is super casual and not very big but they have tables and chairs for you to eat your food. The staff is incredibly nice. Boss lady came out with some complementary fried shrimp tempura type foods for us to try. That was really nice of her. The food here is very affordable and right now they have a BOGO half off of any rolls. I do want to come back and try their other items. Parking is easy since they are located in a small strip mall but the turn in and out is a little tricky since its in such a congested area by the freeway.

    Rainbow roll #1

Bottom Line Up Front: Chick Roll (AKA Chick Flag AKA Chicken Roll) is a hole-in-the-wall that specializes in chicken wings, chicken sandwiches, and (surprisingly enough) sushi rolls. The food quality is good, not great, but it gets bonus points for good customer service and its "buy one, get one 50% off" offer on sushi rolls. The Food: We purchased a fairly large order for a family birthday celebration: 204-piece chicken wings, Combo #1 (more on this later), teriyaki salmon bento box, 2 rainbow rows, tiger row, and crispy rice tuna roll. We got the Korean wings in two flavors: original and soy garlic. Both were just OK because they were a little dry with limited seasoning, so much so that I couldn't tell the difference between the original and soy garlic. The Combo #1 came with chicken tenders, toast, and fries. The tenders were also a little dry though the batter was good. The toast was standard (wish it was a little more, well, toasted). And the fries were waffle style and flavorful, but lacked crispiness. The teriyaki salmon bento box came with a lot of food: the fish, rice, salad, and a box containing a dumpling, egg roll, and shrimp tempura. Everything was good, even though the salmon was a little overcooked. The best thing about the food were the sushi rolls. All four were rolls were substantial in size, beautifully prepared, and offered solid quality. Are they as good as going to a sit-down sushi restaurant? Of course not. But for a fast casual place, they were satisfying. The Customer Service: Chick Roll is run by an older Korean couple and they were so cute and friendly. A pleasant surprise considering I'm so used to getting subpar service at Asian restaurants. (As an Asian, I know lack of customer consideration is just a part of many Asian cultures.) Fortunately, these folks were fast, friendly, and competent. The Setting: Their little shop is located in a tiny strip mall at the northeast corner of the super busy intersection of Trask Avenue and Habor Boulevard -- which means it's hard to access, especially during peak hours. In fact, you can only access the parking lot by going north on Harbor or west on Trask Avenue. Plus, parking inside the strip mall is limited, too. The Conclusion: The different names for the same establishment is a little confusing (probably due to change in management?). And despite having "Chick" in the name, their chicken wings and tenders didn't wow me. But their sushi rolls (and the BOGO 50% off offer) are worth a try, while the warm customer service definitely helps. My true rating is 3.5 out of 5, but since I can't give half-stars, I'll round up to an even 4 out of 5 stars.

Not the quality i remember unfortunately this was upsetting especially since this sandwich was always tastey with previous owner

Spicy tuna poke bowl. I had salmon but my cousin said this was really good. Both were amazing.

Went here a long time ago when they first opened for chicken. Really good chicken. Back then the price was really good too but they've since increased that unfortunately. Oh well. Still good though. Came back here for their poke. They just recently started doing fish I guess! Surprisingly, I gotta say that is some good poke! It's also really huge and they don't skimp on anything. They put all the usual poke stuff into one giant plate and give lots of stuff in it!

First of all, the outside says Chick Roll not Chick Flag. But please come in. This place has been here for a year and 3 months. The service was amazing. The rolls were incredible. I had a Scallop Roll and a Dragon Roll. They are buy one get one half off. I couldn't resist. I highly recommend them. The music was a good touch to the place. The dinning area is kinda small but they do orders to go if needed. I will definitely be coming back. They have other offerings other than Sushi Rolls but that was a great start.

Chick flag is a great place for wings! They also have rolls and ramen if you're in the mood for something else though. I really liked the honey garlic and soy garlic wings. It was a great sweet and savory combo! The Chick Flag fries were 11/10 though. Imagine animal fries from in-n-out except better because it's loaded with chicken. The service was very kind and excellent! It's such a nice place to eat because there's enough seats for small groups. It's a small store, but it's clean and decorated cutely.

I am on this Korean fried chicken kick and gave Chick Flag a try. It is apparently a fairly new location and likely a good discovery. Overall pleased with the meal we had. Small parking lot but in a low traffic shopping strip, never a struggle to park here from what I have seen. Soy Garlic Wings: The flavor gave me mixed feelings at first but grew on me pretty quickly. They used the perfect amount of sauce for the chicken and every bite maintained excellent flavor. Snow cheese KBBQ wings: The employee's description did not match what I was tasting, but I worked past that. I will say these were pretty awesome. I cant really describe the taste, but they will be what have me coming back. I feel like for what we paid, there could have been a little more to the plates. Then again, I am new to this style eatery, so my mind may change. The music being played was ghetto, so it kind of countered the outgoing and colorful atmosphere in the restaurant.

Theres legit like 10 pieces of salmon here...

Ive bought food and hung out in the spot from time to time but when I paid $21 DOLLARS FOR A POKE BOWL I expected it to be somewhat good. No. I got 10 pieces of salmon and more salad than rice. If I am paying that much for "poke" I expect to ACTUALLY get poke. This is crazy.

run by a very sweet old couple they have a big menu and theres so much to choose from. id have to go back and try the other stuff rolls were bogo 50% off at the time i went so that was a big bonus and i liked that tuna crispy rice was included in the deal :) we got medium spice on the chicken sandwich definitely couldve gone hotter

Red Mango and Crunch Dragon rolls to go with

Lovely service. I had sushi bc I came here on my lunch break and they have the deal of buy one roll get one 1/2 off. I took the manager's suggestion of the dragon roll and red mango roll. Both were big portions and good flavor. She was also so sweet and gave me a free red bean ice cream, I think because I took her suggestion of which rolls to order.

The food was great and made with love but the best thing about this establishment is the workers as they take care of you while you are here and make you feel right at home. The food was very flavorful and the specials they offer are very generous compared to most other establishments. I highly recommend you come and show them some love if you are nearby the 22 freeway exit on Harbor.

I tried this on a whim because I was in the area but little did I know this place would become my favorite sushi spot in OC. The fish was fresh, the flavor was amazing, and the owners are so sweet. The lion king roll is an absolute must!

Definitely need to come try the service is amazing and the couple are so sweet! I will be coming back forsure mostly when it's just 5 mins from my house! They are offering bogo 50% off on their sushi come try before the deal is gone!! The inside is very nice and clean loving the vibes

Upon entering, you see the minimalistic menus of sandwiches and drinks. (There are also small paper menus available but the aesthetic is a treat!) it's a small spot, but it exudes personality and a homey vibe. It's like a pub setting you see in Shaun of the Dead but much more comfortable and low key. The servers were very friendly and attentive to our table. I tried the French Dip and the BLT. Both were delicious and packed with meat. One thing about Windsor Brown's is they DO NOT skimp on the meats! Huge points! I executed a beautiful cheese pull upon my first bite, but could not capture it on picture because I ate too fast! So you'll just have to take my word for it. My family also enjoyed their sandwiches. What made the stop even better was the service behind the bar. The employee taking our order and serving the sandwich was genuinely pleasant, attentive, and accommodating, offering great recommendations that made choosing easy and the experience even smoother. The sourdough was exactly how it should be: fresh, crisp, lightly toasted and sturdy enough to hold everything together. Inside, Calabrian deviled egg salad met a perfectly jammy egg, spicy mayo and peppers for a creamy, tangy kick with just the right amount of heat. Messy? A little. Worth it? Absolutely. This was a lip-smacking, reach-for-another-bite kind of sandwich. We didn't have time to dive into the beer selection, but there were plenty of tempting options. With its business-district location, this would be an easy stop after work for a cold brew and a seriously good sandwich. Quick stop. Great service. Killer sandwich. The Devil Made Me do it.

I ordered on a Saturday and it took about 30 minutes for the food to be ready, so you might want to order ahead if you're already hungry . I asked for the vegetables on the side and both sandwiches cut in half. I got the #1 Classic Dac Biet Banh Mi and the #6 Crispy Pork Belly Banh Mi. #1 Classic Dac Biet This was VERY good. I think I actually like their dac biet better than Banh Mi My Tho, and that was my favorite banh mi place coming in! There was something about their pate that was so savory and umami. Whatever it was actually dripped everywhere, but it was delicious . I say pate "sauce" because I always thought pate was more of a paste that gets smeared onto the bread, and I don't think the liquid was coming from the vegetables. Either way, I haven't really had anything quite like it before, and it went really well with all the meats. The vegetables were fresh, and they were very generous with them too. The only thing I really wish was better was the bread. It was toasted, but it was so hard that it actually cut my gums. I had to tug at the sandwich just to get a bite off . Unfortunately, the bread was the same on both sandwiches. #6 Crispy Pork Belly I had pretty high expectations for this one. The pork belly looked juicy and wasn't completely dry, but for some reason, the more I chewed it, the drier it tasted. I also thought the flavor was pretty mild. I really wanted to like this one, but honestly, I'd probably rather eat the roasted pork belly by itself and dip it in some hoisin sauce. Between the two, #1 is definitely the one I'd come back for. I'd skip #6 next time and try another sandwich instead. The dac biet alone is enough to bring me back!

We were headed toward REI to grab some outdoor chairs and decided to stop at GHOST Sando Shop in Huntington Beach. I've driven past this place plenty of times and never really knew what it was. It also happened to be one of the only places open in the shopping center that early, so we figured, why not? Man, we had no idea what we were missing. We ordered the Melrose for ourselves and a Club for our daughter. Marco took our order and was also the one making the sandwiches. A few minutes after we sat down, he actually walked over and asked me, "Are you sure you want the pepperoncini and tomato on the Club?" My first thought was basically, uhhh... yeah, of course I do! Then it clicked. The Club was for our daughter. Marco had remembered that from our conversation when we ordered and knew that a lot of kids probably aren't exactly excited about pepperoncini and tomatoes. Meanwhile, Dad over here completely forgot to ask for them off. That might seem like such a small thing, but THAT is customer service. Marco wasn't just taking an order, collecting payment, and moving on to the next customer. He was actually paying attention. He remembered who the sandwich was for and took the extra few seconds to come over and double check before making it. Good looking out, Marco. Seriously. And that wasn't the only interaction we had with him. Marco was incredibly friendly from the moment we walked in. He talked with us, answered questions, and even gave us suggestions on other sandwiches we should try the next time we come back. Nothing felt forced or scripted. It was just genuine conversation from someone who seemed to actually care whether we enjoyed our experience. There were only two guys working while we were there, yet everything was running smoothly. The restaurant was clean, the atmosphere was relaxed, the bright green interior gives the place its own personality, and there's plenty of seating inside along with a really nice outdoor patio area. And most importantly, the sandwiches were GOOD. The Melrose was a great first choice, and Melody enjoyed her Club, thankfully without Dad accidentally loading it up with pepperoncini. We also grabbed some Calypso lemonades, which went perfectly with everything. We originally stopped here simply because it was open and convenient. Now it's somewhere we'll intentionally come back to. There are thousands of places where you can buy a sandwich. What makes you remember a restaurant is usually the people behind the counter. Marco made us remember GHOST. Excellent food, clean restaurant, great atmosphere, and genuinely outstanding customer service. We'll definitely be back, and next time, Marco, we're taking you up on those recommendations.
