    17. Crab Fried Rice
    Audrey N.

Anna was very helpful during our service. She explained there was only 1 wok in the kitchen so the wait time for the food would take a while since they had to make each dish one at a time. Our server called in a friend to buy mangos down the street for our sticky rice instead of serving the unripe ones inside the restaurant! The quality of the food is good for the portion and costs. My family really enjoyed everything we ate. The crab fried rice had a LOT of crab compared to other restaurants, and the flavors were so good in each dish. We also took advantage of the free drink (and refills) with any entree/soup. I think we'll be calling in our orders by phone in advance the next time we come here, but we will be back!

We had plans for dinner, but that was changed at the last minute. So we had to do a quick search for Thai food and found this little quaint place in a really empty strip mall. I would say the hostess/waitress was extremely nice. We showed up for a late dinner and she was apologetic in letting us know the kitchen is a little slow as they are short staff. We did not mind the wait. All I can say is it was totally worth the wait as the food was delicious! We devoured the plates of pad thai, pad see yew, and crab fried rice so fast... that I forgot to take some pics. We finished off the night with a plate of sticky rice and mango, and these were very special. Our hostess said she felt the mangoes were not quite ripened enough. So she sent her staff out to market to select better mangoes! That's service above and beyond in my book! And I would say the mango and stickg rice did not disappoint. Overall, it was a pleasant experience with great food. It's a definite repeat!

So incredibly flavorful and delicious. Hostess/server was so incredibly friendly! They were quite short staffed so food did take a little bit longer to cook as my order was quite big (ordered 2 pad thai as well) so please be patient! They are working incredibly hard in there!!!

We decided to have dinner here based on the current rating. Perhaps we came in early (4pm) because they were not prepared. The aircon is not working well that they have to open the door for airflow. We can even smell cigarette smell. They did not serve water while waiting for the server to come. The menu... they only have one main entree, very limited choices. For now I will give this experience with 3.75. I will update this review are we eat to rate the quality of their food. UPDATE: We ordered yellow curry, pepper beef, pad thai, crab fried rice and tom yum shrimp. All of it taste good! Really authentic taste. The service is a little slow. They do offer free thai tea or hibiscus tea. For food quality i am going to give them a better review rate of 4.2.

Me and my boyfriend ate here for the first time and decided this as our new go to Thai spot. We got the pad see ew and the crab fried rice and it was super good! The crab fried rice was our favorite, they used fresh crab and overall quality of everything was amazing. Portions here are so big and affordable and the food came out quickly still even though our server, Anna, warned us because they were understaffed. She was so informative about the menu and friendly, she really made our night! The drinks are really good here too. My boyfriend got the hibiscus and I got the Thai tea, they use real tea here and you can tell. We even got too excited and dug into our food right away before I could take some good pictures. I love the vibe and food here.

I ordered food online around 5pm and this restaurant canceled my order an HOUR later. Terrible service! Check the other reviews before you consider ordering. This has happened to other people. Seems this restaurant is very disorganized! I won't be ordering from here again.

Spicy Pad Thai with Thai Tea and hibiscus tea. So delicious and refreshing.

Omg the Pad Thai is so good I ordered spicy Pad Thai and it is spicy but it's delicious. The order was so big, I can only eat 1/3 of it. I also got a complimentary Thai tea with my order too. I'm so happy that Thai Princess is open and doing well after Covid again. One of the best Thai food around.

Pad see ew beef was the star. Chef probably vibing to the 80s love songs on blast. Made with love. Curry had great flavor but consistency was on the runny side. Chicken was fresh, tender, not dry. Lots of vegetables. Ambiance wise, I felt the dark brown tables and seating was too serious vs whimsical seafoam green wallpaint. Waitress very sweet, offered free Thai Tea w/ purchase of entree and provided excellent service

Pad se ew vegetable, my second one was free :)

MAKE SURE YOU GET JULIE TO SERVE YOU ! Came in for a to- go order, I waited a bit because they were slammed with take out and tables coming in. Julie was the only server working and she offered me a free thai tea while I waited. She was incredibly kind and was non stop working. Julie refilled my free thai tea and gave me another free drink, 3 drinks total I ordered the Pad se ew and because I waited about 30 - 40 mins she said the kitchen gave me another free entree on the house I WALKED OUT OF HERE WITH 3 DRINKS AND 2 ENTREES !!! ATMOSPHERE: COZY FOOD : 10/10 CUSTOMER SERVICE : 10/10

I got here around 6pm on Tuesday. There is a huge parking lot outside. No need to worry about parking. There are about 36 seats total inside. I got the pad Thai, special ribeyes salad, tom kha soup, crab fried rice, and loaded fries. The portion is very generous and food is quite decent. I'd give the food about 3/5. It's more on the savory side, wish it was lighter on the taste. Any orders that's not an appetizer will come with Thai tea or hibiscus tea. Service was fast and courteous. Overall, I'd come back here again! Great for big groups and price.

Outstanding service, outstanding food, even sing a little karaoke! Highly recommend for in-house or takeout. And their hibiscus and Thai iced tea are second to none!

Chicken pad see ew and chicken pad thai

The staff is incredibly kind and service is absolutely AMAZING!! They offer one free drink for every entree and their serving size is beyond generous. We got chicken pad see ew, pad thai and crab fried rice, which were all delicious. This place is severely underrated! Beware their mild is still pretty spicy!

my friends and i really wanted thai food, and thai princess was one of the thai restaurants opened later around us that we havent tried yet, so we decided to stop by and were so glad we did! the exterior and interior of thai princess looks really unassuming, almost as if you were visiting a relative, but i feel like that made the experience very homey! the waitress was also so kind and attentive! for our appetizer, we tried the chicken satay with a peanut sauce, and this was really good! the chicken was very soft and paired well with the sauce and veggies for freshness. for our entrees, we had the pad see ew with ribeye, the pad thai with chicken, and the panang curry with eggplants. i would say the pad thai was just okay, and the panang curry was really yummy and rich! the real star of the show was the pad see ew, which was probably the best pad see ew ive ever had in my life! the sauce was a good mix of sweet and savory, and the ribeye was so tender and paired well with the perfectly cooked noodles and veggies. i would come again just for the pad see ew!! we didnt know that an order of any entree came with a free thai tea, so that was a nice surprise since we were gonna order it anyway! the thai tea was really good and had the perfect mix of strong tea flavor and sweetness. the waitress was so sweet and asked us if we wanted any refills or even a cup to-go, but we capped out on our sweet tooth for the day haha

    They closed after opening again?

They are open! Great food / great service!

    They're back open again?

Yes, but it looks like it's a different owner and different menu also.

What happened ? Why are they closed?

No idea, just found out after searching as well. I had been calling for the last 5 months hoping to dine in with them but every time i called it was always "one more month". now to see that it's closed. they may have closed possibly due to not…

Does anyone know if this place is doing dine in yet?

They still not open for dine in. They said they will be open for dine in a month when renovation is completed.

Is lunch special available on weekend too? I don't know what main even day are.

Does Thai Princess do catering — if so, how large are their portions, how much can they feed, and approximately how much does it cost? I’m wondering for a group of 20 or so people!

Is this operated by the same people who had a location on Beach Blvd in the same plaza as Target?

YES. IT IS. GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY, PLEASE. They moved to this location a couple years ago. They have photos from their old location at this new establishment

What kind of vegan options are available?

They have noodle and rice dishes, soups and appetizers that can all be made vegan. You just have to let them know what dish you want without any animal product and they will accommodate for you. I've had pad thai, pineapple fried rice, kung pao tofu…

We got the Lao style papaya salad, crispy pork fried rice (Nam Kao Tod), and beef salad (Nuam Num Tok), all medium spicy. The papaya salad was fishy, spicy, and had that crab flavor I was looking for. The crispy pork fried rice was so flavorful, especially with the peanuts, herbs, and chiles. The beef salad was probably my favorite, tender beef, red onions, fresh herbs, and a spicy, tangy dressing. So good and packed with flavor. Service was nice and it wasn't busy when we went. Their hours online didn't seem updated though, so we ended up getting there about an hour before closing. I do wish the interior had a little more decor and atmosphere, but the food itself was immaculate. Definitely coming back. 9/10

In regards to the food, as I said it's one of the most authentic to Lao flavors I can get here in OC. I've never had an issue with any item, everything taste amazing, comes out hot and fast, and just hits the spot every time. My favorites are the Nam Kao, Larb, Deep Fried Short Ribs, Pad Kee Mao, Fried Rice, Khao Poon, Khao Piak, Pho Lao, Deep Fried Catfist, Beef Jerky, Lao Sausage, and plenty more that hit the spot. I'm always excited to come here for lunch or dinner. Please give it a try if you've never had Lao Food. Make sure to order some sticky rice to eat with your appetizer and make sure to come hungry.

Show up right at evening opening to even have a chance at getting a table without waiting 1-2 hours. Struggle to find parking. Order food and it kind of takes forever. While waiting for our food, we almost always start to wonder if it's all worth it. And then every time, once the food arrives, that conversation gets dropped. We always order the Manaao Pork Jowl and Khao Soi with braised beef. We also typically order a noodle dish as well. As always, their Khao Soi is fantastic. The flavor is deep and the curry is rich. The beef is always cooked until it falls apart between your chopsticks. The one we were a bit unsure about was why they started to serve the pork jowl with no sauce on the side. We feel like when we first started ordering the dish, the sauce was lightly drizzled on top and served on the side in a small ramekin. Now, all of the sauce comes on top of the pork which seems to have made the dish a bit colder and less crispy. Still, the flavor is dialed, perfectly sweet and tangy. Their noodles are also always fantastic, perfectly cooked and seasoned. This visit we decided to try a new curry, and went with the Chu Chee Curry with Fried Catfish. This dish blew us away. We were immediately surprised by the generous portion of catfish, which seemed to be a full fried filet. At first, I felt like the batter may have been too thick for my liking. It seemed to be so thick and fried that it would taste crunchy rather than crispy if that makes sense. However, once coated in the curry sauce and enjoyed with the rice, the textures work together perfectly to maintain the crisp of the fry on the fish, which was cooked just right. The curry was light, which meant it didn't overpower the subtle flavor of the fish. We also ordered dessert for the first time off of the recommendation of a friend to try the rice balls in coconut milk with coconut ice cream. The flavor was amazing, and the texture of the rice balls (think mochi but more soft and tender rather than chewy) was very pleasant alongside the crunchy bits of fried mung bean. Our only gripe was that even by the time the dish reached our table, the ice cream was mostly melted. If anything, I feel like serving them separately would help maintain the temperatures, and enjoying them together in that way could create a more satisfying contrast. As always, Manaao is our favorite Thai spot in Orange County. I definitely recommend.
