There are 10+ Thai restaurants in Garden Grove, and I've tried 6 so far. This one is my favorite! It's just really good quality Thai food with very fresh tasting ingredients. You can tell they put some care into what they're serving up. It feels like a family run restaurant. I ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken, Pad Thai with crispy tofu, Yellow curry with chicken, and Mango with sticky rice . I was just wowed by every dish. I honestly couldn't tell you which was my favorite because they were all 5 stars in my book. And there is a very friendly, pretty girl who takes your order and brings your food out to you. She must be the Thai princess! I'll definitely be coming back! I recommend ordering about an hour in advance since it seems food this good can't be rushed. read more

Updating my review, unfortunately. Like other reviewers have mentioned, this place is disorganized. On my last order, I was quoted an hour wait which was long but I was okay with but after that hour passed, I was told it'd be another 45 minutes. I had hungry guests waiting and it put me in a tough spot as a host. I wish they'd just said so upfront instead of overcommitting. I would've completely, would have appreciated the honesty and just ordered somewhere else. For anyone considering ordering on a Saturday, it seems like this is their catering day, and they should honestly just close to walk-in/pickup orders rather than accept them and leave customers waiting 2+ hours. Over promising and underperforming. Today our food was supposed to be ready at 2:15. When I called at 2:15, I was told the chef hadn't even started on our order because they were still buried in a catering job -- one that we had already waited 45 minutes for and gave them the time to make it happen. Have have guests over right now and I told them they would have to wait. We waited to 2:15 only to call and hear that they haven't even started. So I was looking at another 25 minutes just to cook, and then however long to get it to us. That's not a delay, that's a "come back tomorrow." Here's the thing: catering is great money, and I get why a restaurant chases it. But if you take a regular order and give a customer a time, you owe it to them to honor it -- or at minimum, to call and say "hey, we're slammed, this isn't happening." Instead I had to chase you down, only to learn our food was still theoretical, then cancel and scramble to feed people from somewhere else. Once is a bad day. Two or three times is a pattern. When your catering side is consistently eating your dine-in and pickup customers' orders, that's an operations problem, not an excuse. I wanted the food. I didn't get the food. People look elsewhere. Anna was very helpful during our service. She explained there was only 1 wok in the kitchen so the wait time for the food would take a while since they had to make each dish one at a time. Our server called in a friend to buy mangos down the street for our sticky rice instead of serving the unripe ones inside the restaurant! The quality of the food is good for the portion and costs. My family really enjoyed everything we ate. The crab fried rice had a LOT of crab compared to other restaurants, and the flavors were so good in each dish. We also took advantage of the free drink (and refills) with any entree/soup. I think we'll be calling in our orders by phone in advance the next time we come here, but we will be back! read more

We had plans for dinner, but that was changed at the last minute. So we had to do a quick search for Thai food and found this little quaint place in a really empty strip mall. I would say the hostess/waitress was extremely nice. We showed up for a late dinner and she was apologetic in letting us know the kitchen is a little slow as they are short staff. We did not mind the wait. All I can say is it was totally worth the wait as the food was delicious! We devoured the plates of pad thai, pad see yew, and crab fried rice so fast... that I forgot to take some pics. We finished off the night with a plate of sticky rice and mango, and these were very special. Our hostess said she felt the mangoes were not quite ripened enough. So she sent her staff out to market to select better mangoes! That's service above and beyond in my book! And I would say the mango and stickg rice did not disappoint. We decided to have dinner here based on the current rating. Perhaps we came in early (4pm) because they were not prepared. The aircon is not working well that they have to open the door for airflow. We can even smell cigarette smell. They did not serve water while waiting for the server to come. The menu... they only have one main entree, very limited choices. For now I will give this experience with 3.75. I will update this review are we eat to rate the quality of their food. Me and my boyfriend ate here for the first time and decided this as our new go to Thai spot. We got the pad see ew and the crab fried rice and it was super good! The crab fried rice was our favorite, they used fresh crab and overall quality of everything was amazing. Portions here are so big and affordable and the food came out quickly still even though our server, Anna, warned us because they were understaffed. She was so informative about the menu and friendly, she really made our night! The drinks are really good here too. I got here around 6pm on Tuesday. There is a huge parking lot outside. No need to worry about parking. There are about 36 seats total inside. I got the pad Thai, special ribeyes salad, tom kha soup, crab fried rice, and loaded fries. The portion is very generous and food is quite decent. I'd give the food about 3/5. The one girl taking orders and offering free drinks is nothing new so don't let the comments fool you that the slow service is infrequent or one off. Based on when I went 6+ months ago and seeing newer comments about the service still being slow, then I've concluded that it's just slow. And this is not the original Thai Princess in HB. This is hands down the best thai food I've ever had, and their hospitality is so great. Our server Anna was so thoughtful and attentive to all of our needs, and was such an amazing and sweet person overall. I truly mean it when you must go to this restaurant just to meet her. She's actually stellar and is the definition of someone that restores humanity. Even the vegetables were all cooked to perfection, which I know takes precision. 10/10 Pad thai ~$15 was so flavorful. The peanuts on the side were something else. we normally skip out on the peanuts on pad Thai, but when Anna brought it to us, it smelled so good that we had to try it and it truly elevated the entire dish. 9/10 Baked mussels. ~$10 Gosh words cannot explain how delicious and umami this was. Seasoned perfectly and so tender. The chef even snuck in a few extra for us, and we were oh so grateful. 9.9/10 Portions: They are SO generous with their portions. My boyfriend and I came in super hungry, but we literally were only able to finish half of the pad thai and curry. We literally brought home an entire full meal as leftovers after eating so much! Stopped by here on my way home from LA. Anna was our server and she was EXCELLENT! She was so kind and charismatic. She let us know about the kitchens dedication to fresh ingredients and had wonderful recommendations. We got the tom yum, mussels and pad se ew. The Pad Se Ew tasted amazing and had an abundance of Beef & Shrimp. Their cream cheese wonton was crispy and light, one of the best cream cheese wontons I have had. This review is about 3 days late, and I'm sorry I didn't upload any pictures of the food, but honestly it looked soooo good when it came out that I went straight to eating. The portions were pretty big I ended up taking about half of my meal home (not complaining at all, it became my breakfast the next day). I stopped by on Friday night after a trip to LA. They only had one girl working; I think her name was Julie, but I could be wrong . She was super helpful and let me know which dishes would come out quickly if I was in a hurry, while also giving me realistic wait times for the other menu items. We weren't in any rush, so we ordered what we wanted and waited. She was incredibly nice, constantly checking on us and apologizing for the food taking a little while. Honestly, I didn't mind the wait at all because she was so friendly. We also arrived pretty late at night, and I was worried we were overstaying our welcome, but she kept reassuring us that they stay open late, so it was no problem. The food was delicious. It's only 8:30 in the morning as I'm writing this, and I'm already thinking about the Pad Thai. I'm not sure if this is always the case, but all of the entrées we ordered came with a free tea. We tried the Hibiscus Tea and the Thai Teaboth were delicious, but the Thai Tea was definitely my favorite. I definitely recommend giving this place a try if you're craving Thai food! read more

It was my first time visiting this place. The restaurant is very spacious and airy, and it feels like a family-owned spot. I'd rate the food overall 4.5/5. The portions are large, making them great for sharing. I tried the Pad See Ew with beef and would give it 5/5--it was delicious, and the beef was very tender and easy to eat. Seeing some reviews, it looks like they returned from a hiatus. And I'm glad to see it. Food: Panang Curry with Beef - $15.88 - this was Rich, flavorful, and the beef was incredibly tender since they use ribeye. Usually, I find beef tough and chewy in curry. The portion size made at least four servings so this is a huge winner. Tom Kha Soup with Chicken - $15.88 - again, packs up flavor punch. Loaded with tons of chicken, the soup really delivers. Portion size also at least for small bowls or 2 1/2 entrées. Pa See Ew (Custom) - $15.88 - my girlfriend wanted drunken noodles and the team suggested they could make this dish with added basil and spices to get a similar flavor. We took a chance and it certainly wasn't bad. I think my girlfriend's only complaint was the noodles sea mushy, but the flavor was right on. We added a shrimp which there was plenty of as well. Thai Tea - Thai Princess makes a very solid Thai tea. It's rich without being overpowering, very balanced. I like Thai tea in general, and I don't often run into one that's bad, but I certainly rarely run into one that I would say stand out as pretty good. Would I Return? Absolutely. But you gotta give me some time because there's so much leftovers, we probably ate this for four days. lol read more
