This place used to be Miyako, now it is Yuki. The food is still good, but the service went wrong today. The Asian waitress in short wavy hair took our payment. She said her name was Jane. I placed cash in the folder, a tip was included. It was more than enough. She took our payment, then came back saying it wasn't enough, I was took by surprise. It was definitely more than enough. I don't agree that it was short, because I know how cash I places in the folder. But, I kept silent. I don't have proof of how much I put in there, and I don't want to bother checking the camera. So, this time I place a smaller amount in there, and took a photo, in case she come back saying it was not enough again. It was $53, for $47.69. She took the payment and didn't come back. I had to make sure everything was ok. I asked for the change. She brought back the change, and I tipped her. But the receipt was showing that I paid $50, which was incorrect, as you can see in the photos. The money and the receipt didn't match. Two things was wrong: 1). The payment was more than enough the first time, but it came back short. 2. The waitress didn't bring back the change on the second time. No matter how much the change is, always bring back the change, most of the times the customers will tips more than the change for good service. People don't tips well for dishonesty or bad service. The restaurant has been in this location for years , I believe the Yuki Sushi name is recent . They give you a tasty cabbage salad and miso soup with every order . My husband ordered the sashimi, it was so fresh and fancy (he was impressed!) I ordered the spicy tuna poke salad. So good !! Went in around 4:30pm on a Monday. It was empty, service was quick and very friendly. Whole place looks very clean. It's set up similar to how Miyako use to be. It's relaxed and doesn't feel like you're being rushed. The food was bomb af. Every part of each dish was flavorful without being overwhelming or over complicated. The bed of lettuce the soft shell crab came with had this amazing sauce, made it some of the best lettuce/salad I've had in a while. I've lived in GG for over 14 years and I always drive to other cities for sushi, we've been going to Full moon in Fountain Valley, and we love their sushi. Ordered sushi for pick-up around 8 PM on a Monday, and the food was ready right when I got there. The lady at the register was super nice and quick--she had everything bagged up and ready to go in no time. Since it was takeout, I can't say much about the dine-in service, but the pickup process was smooth and easy. I got the crunch roll, salmon skin roll, Chapman roll, and dinosaur roll. The more classic rolls like crunch and salmon skin were solid--no complaints at all. I also liked the dinosaur roll, but the Chapman roll wasn't really for me. The spicy tuna just didn't have as much flavor as I was hoping for, and with the shrimp tempura inside too, it made the roll kind of bulky and hard to eat. The spicy tuna didn't hold its shape super well, so it kept falling apart when I tried to pick it up. That said, I'd definitely order from them again. The menu has a lot of other rolls I want to try, and for 4 sushi rolls and 2 sodas, the total came out to about $50 before tax and tip, which felt pretty fair for a good quality local sushi spot. The food is good but the cost is about the same as my favorite AYCE spot (Aikan), but I get less food (cause it's not AYCE obviously).
