So I've struggled how to review this place. I've been here twice in the past couple of months and my experience has been mediocre at best. Let me start by saying the food is good. Actually it's very good. Great Smokey flavors from the rotisserie chicken that basically makes up every time on the menu in some form or another. However... the experience has been what has left me wanting each time. First visit was crazy slow. I mean I really think our order got lost. The owner came across both times a little bit like the soup nazi from Seinfeld. I didn't feel welcomed both times I as there. The second time was maybe unfortunate and untimely but they had no a/c.., it was brutal hot in there. When you're trying to eat your food and your sweating into your plate, it's tough. Maybe unfair to have that speak into my rating sine it is likely out of their control to a good degree but I've yet to have a good experience their as a customer. I don't think I have ever loved a chicken sandwich more than this. We were in the area for the night and my sister randomly found this place online. The woman who took our order was very smiley and sweet and patient while we hemmed and hawed over what sides to order. Between us we ate 1/4 rotisserie chicken, the Pollito chicken sandwich, and side orders of fried rice, grilled vegetables, and Yucca fries. We polished off everything in approximately 13 minutes. We went to the Houston/Katy location this evening and were blown away!!! The ambiance is nice and simple, service was good and prompt, the food... OUTSTANDING!!! I got the half chicken (dark) with green beans and coleslaw. It was absolutely delicious! The best green beans I've ever had! The coleslaw was nice and creamy, my hubby doesn't really care for coleslaw but even he was impressed, now to the chicken, it was hot, juicy and oh so tender. The skin was nice and crispy and perfectly seasoned! I saved half of my dinner and brought it home to eat later, even reheated it was fantastic! You can tell that everything was so fresh. My hubby had the burrito and loved it too, he really liked the fried rice in the burrito. They have 3 sauces for you to use as well.. Yellow is mild, green is medium and red is hot. They all had their own unique and delicious flavors. This is a place we will definitely be going back to. I'm already thinking of when we should go back because it was so good!! I would give Chick Houz 10 stars, as their chicken is the most delicious I've tasted, but I had to knock a star for taking the Veggie Bowl off their menu. It was my favorite option, having rice, beans, their amazing grilled veggies, pulled chicken, quinoa, and crispy onions. It was also easy to make vegetarian by asking for no chicken, or substituting an egg, making Chick Houz and easy choice for office orders. Now we have to wait for a weekend when none of our many vegetarian coworkers (who were all devastated to learn of the loss of veggie bowl) are at the office to enjoy the wonderful chicken. I prefer Peri Peri Factory and I know their Brazilian and this is Peruvian but the seasoning was lacking. Got home to Katy and there was a 1/2 white chicken with small sides and one of the breast quarters had blood running from it. It was 8:00 pm and they were closed so I called the next morning. Spoke with Carmen who said she'd pull the ticket and get back to me. I called back several times and even spoke to manager/owner on phone who said he'd credit my card.
