They put way to much sauce on my food couldn't even eat it , the fries were off brand McDonald's fries an the Mac n cheese taste like butter and only has seasoning on the top , the chicken was chewy and had no seasoning only the breading was seasoned, the sweet tea taste bad , the ranch didn't taste like ranch at all I don't even know what it was , an there was absolutely no where to sit down and eat worst experience ever definitely don't recommend. Amazing place for chicken. They sell out within the hour, so please stay in front of the computer or set an alarm. I first thought that $60ish for fried chicken is a little pricey, but I finally bit the bullet after some recommendations. I was impressed. The chicken tender family meal was generous, enough for everyone to enjoy and has left overs. Sides are gone within the first 5 mins of the meal. Tenders are moist for what tenders can be, and the batter is still crispy by the time I got home (20 mins drive). Will try their chicken pieces next time, and I prefer chicken thighs. read more

Honestly I was so excited to try this place. I have been eyeing it for awhile and have always missed the pop ups. But I finally got around to ordering a 3 piece with a side of Mac. The Mac and cheese was delicious and hot! The tenders I ordered were supposed to be hot but there was no spice whatsoever and they weren't that warm when I picked up my order. I will say that the size of the tenders are wonderful and very filling but honestly there was a lack of flavor. I was also excited about the cukes and onions but it was never included in my order when it says online that it is, so very sad. The ranch was alright. I was curious about their other sauces but they are 1.50 each so I skipped out. Overall, it was ok. This used to be a favorite of our family but the last handful of times they have gotten our order wrong. The most recent order was wrong once again, we ordered tenders and selected the medium level seasoning. We didn't realize that the tenders were unseasoned until we got home. My husband brought them back and they apologized but their solution was to reheat the tenders and spice them to the high heavens to correct the mistake. They were dry and tough and too hot (spice wise) to eat. I'm assuming the toughness was from the re-heating. Needless to say they went uneaten and we wasted money and time and gas to bring them back. My piece of advice is to check over your order on the spot inside the location so you can have them fix any mistakes with your order read more

I have heard lots of buzz around this pop up chicken place. It was only when I saw it at the lilac festival did I know it was on like donkey kong. Chicken fingers are one of my top 3 things I love to eat so I set the bar high. I was not disappointed, it was everything the Facebook group said it was. The hype is so real, and I've told so many friends. We knew it'd be good, but it was truly great. So flavorful, appropriately crunchy, quality chicken pieces, quality ingredients in general - all the things. I don't even usually like coleslaw but did this one. Mac and cheese was so tasty and cucumber salad was perfect. Their presentation is so thoughtful - instructions for how to reheat without sacrificing value, chicken slices on top of pieces of bread to keep them crispy, high quality cardboard box (am I really commenting on the box? Yes I am...). I literally have 0 complaints. The 6 fingers meal option is truly enough for 2 people (they're decent sized chicken slices). Also recommend putting the "sting" (honey) over the fingers before dipping. Bravo! read more

Pop up at Bar Bantam was where we picked up our sandwiches and Mash. First off in this time food that travels well is key. This restaurant has perfected it. This place is a packed new jammin place. When I went there the line was wrapped around the whole restaurant. Most people take the food to go but we decided to sit in and eat. Food is definitley prepped out way in advance because the chicken was no longer crunchy. Breading was flavorful and well seasoned though. You can get it not so hot, hot or extra hot. Hot was not hot at all did not even seem to have spice. Side dishes were alright nothing to rave about. I did however like thier homemade pickles that come with every meal. But that makes sense their focus is on the chicken. I tried the mac and cheese and potatoes and very similar to KFC. Definitley would try again and hope the food turns out warmed and fresher next time. They are definitley still in the learning stages of how to manage such a busy new place. read more

I've had the pleasure of following these folks around to a few different spots. The first was during their pop-up at Blossom Road Pub (back when you had to arrive very early or wait in a line that went 2 blocks down the road!). I can't recall what I had but it was deliciously worth the hype. The second was during a pandemic pop-up at Bar Bantam, back when you had to set an alarm for when ordering went live otherwise it was impossible to get a spot. I got a family meal for my birthday. I had ordered the chick stung but decided a lot would be eaten as leftovers so I actually sent them an Instagram message asking if they could switch it to "on the side," and they responded quickly and said it wouldn't be a problem! Lovely! I liked the variety of chicken pieces, the quality of the sides, and that it came with dipping sauces. This last time was from their new set-up inside East End Tavern. I like the ease of the new online ordering system and it was ready at the time I was told. Although it was still very enjoyable to eat, it didn't quite hit the spot in the same way. The country corn was a little on the watery side, the chicken was heavy on the deep fried skin and had very little meat (side note: I ordered "hot" and it was very doable!), and it was on the pricier side (could there at the very least be a dipping sauce included?!). I recommend it for anyone looking to try a solid fried chicken meal but think I've had my fill of it for a while. read more

At the event, they provided delicious food that looked and tasted amazing. Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus Chick'N Out has temporarily closed its doors to the public. Currently, they are giving back and using their resources to help feed the heroes who are working in the front line during the pandemic. This was my first time to try this place for the Strathallan Hattie's event. I was eager to try it out because they seemed to be popular on Instagram and sell out quickly. Unfortunately, I 100% do not understand the hype. The chicken tenders were pretty basic - nothing different than your ordinary Slim Chickens order. The fries were good but was super salty and the pickles were so vinegary. It tasted like they just threw cucumber and vinegar together last minute. I think the reason it's so popular is because one, their social media marketing is really impressive - I will commend them on that. Secondly, it's likely popular because maybe most of the people here in Rochester have never tasted bomb chicken from the South. Personally, I used to live in the South and they had the best chicken tenders. So I think if you've never had chicken from the South then this might be your place. But if you have, I'd say stick to Marty's Meats. I'm not even going to get started on the disgusting Franzia tasting wine that was being served nor the terrible DJ they hired to blare music so loudly that I could barely hear the yelling of my husband's voice in my ear. Also, the event itself was extremely disorganized. They had online reservations that provided one hour on the rooftop to eat but it took over an hour to even receive our food lol! The most concerning part was the lack of care in the event space during this COVID time. Plenty of guests were seen walking around without masks & not social distancing. For example, ~ 35-40 people clustered in that tiny balcony of the 9th floor - scary! The staff were not attentive whatsoever about making sure everyone was safe health-wise. We also did not appreciate the person bringing our food just literally plopping the food in front of us without even asking who had what - terrible service! Overall, the hype is not real and it all just comes from savvy social media presence and the general population of Rochester likely have not been exposed to better chicken tenders. Recommend highly to just move on over to Marty's for the best chicken. read more
