I'm really on the fence with these guys. When I have gotten the food from them, it's been very good. The Nashville chicken sandwich is very good. I've gotten it a few times and always a good meal. Fries are excellent as well. However, I said earlier, "When I have gotten the food..." This doesn't always happen. I've ordered from them about 7 times and have only actually gotten the food 4 times. Twice, I ordered on Yelp for delivery. In one case they just cancelled the order and in another case, I got a notification that the food was delivered but never got it. Grub Hub called them and said it was an error. This was about 2 hours after I ordered. Finally, I figured I'd go pick it up. Ordered it on Yelp. Went to the restaurant after about an hour and they said, "Someone already picked up your order." They did offer to make it for me there, but I couldn't wait around. The place itself is pretty sparse but clean. I think the food is a 4 but the overall experience from a service standpoint is a 2. Average it out to a 3. read more

Thought I had found a local gem, boy was wrong! at the suggestion of these server, I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. It was two slices of thin, cut breast over brown and coated with an immense amount of breading that slid right off the chicken. They should've just called it a breading on a bun sandwich. I understand restaurants wanting to save money during these trying times but this was unacceptable. They could have done better by using three chicken tenders and would've had substantially more protein in the sandwich and it would've been the same food cost. The 2, thin sliced chicken breasts on the sandwich were overcooked. Chicken Coop attempted to make the Nashville sandwich look more substantial by using a huge bun. please put away the cleaning, rag and spray cleaner in the cabinet in the bathroom instead of leaving it out. It doesn't make a nice impression. Trash cans throughout the restaurant needed emptying, which would've been a good time because they were not busy. read more

I drove about an hour today for A Hudson Valley Yelp Spotlight at the Chicken Coop. I ordered the Bad Fish sandwich that was my perk item then I added a Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. I opted for fries(extra charge) and slaw (extra charge).... Including a extra charge for me answering yes to extra-spicy on my sandwich. A small 20oz rootbeer finished my order. My total (not including my freebie Bad Fish sandwich) was just short of $25. NYC pricing(to me). My Nashville sandwich was good though a little light on the chicken.(thin). My Bad Fish sandwich was very good. Fries: old and chewy. Slaw, good and sadly probably the highlight of the meal. read more

If I could give it negative stars I would. 1) the store has no heat. 2) I waited over 1/2 an hour for my food only to find out it was in the waiting section. 3) the food is not worth it. A lot of it is not fresh it is freezer flash fry. Do not go there!! Go to Blue Hen their chicken is fresh. When they give you an estimated time to pick up the food is waiting for you. read more

If burnt chicken, limp celery, and a side of short black wavy hair is what you are craving, come down to the Chicken Coop. We went here when it first opened and were not impressed. It's been quite some time and we thought, well they are still in business, maybe they got better. ....we were wrong. The fried pickles were gross. They had barely any batter on them and were way too oily. The section of the container that is pinched shut had a hair in it. The chicken wings weren't half bad - hence the one star. The OG chicken was burnt and dry. Found a couple of interior pieces that weren't crispy that I was able to serve to the kids. The chicken reminded me of the scene out of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation when they cut open the turkey. The sides were sub par. Definitely won't be making the mistake of ordering from here again. read more

I'm sitting here in my car devouring my shrimp Poboy. The bread was really crispy outside , and the sandwich was absolutely amazing. Crispy deep-fried shrimp, with lettuce and tomato with this exceptional sauce. Sauce was tangy with a good kick. Loved that! Shrimp is plump with a crisp exterior and plentiful on the sandwich. The list of wings was gigantic! After perusing for a while, I finally chose barbecue ranch wings. They didn't disappoint! Wings were crispy, very large, and the barbecue sauce was tangy and delicious with a subtle hint of ranch. I love the blue cheese that accompanied the wings. I would've eaten inside, but I had my 92 pound Labrador with me. Inside is very clean and welcoming with tables spaced far enough apart. It was definitely service with a smile. The woman behind the counter was friendly as well as accommodating. When you tip, a chicken clucks out loudly! It's very cute. Overall, a really wonderful experience. Can't recommend this place enough. Food was DELICIOUS. We tried a bunch of sauces, sandwiches, wings, and more and I am hooked! The guys behind the counter were super nice and helped us decide what to order. Highly recommend getting the dead Dracula boneless wings (the sauce is a mix of Caesar, Parmesan, and hot sauce) and a small Caesar salad. Food here is superb I haven't had a bad meal yet. I'm glad to finally find a takeout place in the area that takes food seriously instead of the same deli or pizza or 50 year old family restaurant that's never updated it's menu. The fish sandwich is delicious I've had it three times already the tilapia is always crisp but not deep fried and the siracha cole slaw is great. Fish tacos are also delicious the chipotle Mayo has a mango flavor to it. Some people complain about the "NYC" prices but good food costs more and I'd rather pay more for good, innovative fare. read more

Ordered wings last night and my wife was supposed to order 18 but accidentally ordered 12 on the phone. Once she hung up she immediately called back and said could you please change it to 18 and the girl said it was too late they were already made you have to order another separate order. Obviously the wings aren't fresh and we're premade earlier in the day because that's impossible to make 12 wings in 15 seconds. The real reason is either she is too lazy or the restaurant is too cheap to adjust the order from 12 for $17 to 18 for $24. We paid the full price but now you get 2 stars for being cheap over $2. When I first heard about this new chicken place, I was really excited to try it. Due an unusual change in my work schedule, I was finally able to make it over here for lunch. This part of the shopping plaza is a little tricky to access from 118 but a trip around the corner and here I am. Clean and bright the way new place should be. I can't read the menus posted on the wall so I ask for a paper menu. They only have 1 copy...new ones are being printed. Ok, so I take a look and decide on a Nashville Chicken sandwich and an order of fries from the specials board (posted right near the register so it's easy to see). They ring me up and I see the fries are $10. WOW but I didn't ask before I ordered them so shame on me. My food comes out and I take a seat to eat. Fries are good but $10? Not next time. A few bites into the sammy (BTW, the first one was delish), I notice something wrong. I look down and the chicken is totally raw on the inside. I mean totally! I return it to the counter, ask for my fries to be put into a to go container. The owner/manager comes out of the back, apologizes profusely an offers to make me a new sandwich. I neither have the appetite nor the time for another sandwich so he refunds my entire purchase, including the fries that I am taking. That was a stand up thing to do but after a month in business and having another restaurant, you should be able to cook the chicken thoroughly. read more

This was my second time ordering from this place. First time I ordered was a month ago and I went to pick up my food curbside. The young man who came to bring the food to my car was so pleasant and courteous. I ordered the rotisserie chicken with sweet potato, corn, spinach and coleslaw and it came with cornbread. My food was nice and hot and when I got home the food was still piping hot. Everything was delicious! The second time I ordered from them which was last Friday, I ordered the PhillyCheese Steak, Apple Walnut Salad, French Onion Soup and Traditional Hot Wings. My delivery driver was very sweet and nice. The food was delicious and incredible EXCEPT the wings were a bit on the dry side but everything was still great! So decided to try this place as we saw it advertised. So let's start with the positives. The place was very clean. The staff in front was so helpful and sweet. They answered all of our questions and even made suggestions as to customer favorites. I noticed they were checking in with customers that were eating in the establishment, Asking if everything was ok. Five stars for customer service. Their coleslaw was pretty good! I saw other people with chicken wings that looked and smelled good so that seems like a good choice. So let's discuss some negatives. I could only attest to the food I ordered. The whole chicken unfortunately was no different than that of stop and shop. I had two sides. One was the dark candied yams. Run for the hills!! The sauce was good but It was so sticky and hard that you couldn't enjoy it. I had a hard time chewing it and getting it out of my teeth. It was too gooey with too much syrup. I have been dying to try this place out and today I was finally able too. I ordered the French toast wings which had to be the best boneless wings I have ever had super crispy on outside and tender chicken inside. I also ordered the fried pickles which were as perfect as they can get. I am so happy I stopped in, the staff was very friendly and the place was clean.
