Moved from lower Westchester to Putnam last year, and used to swear I knew the best wing spot in the Weschester/Putnam area. Well I was wrong... Roosters has the best wings in this area. I typically order for pickup at least once a week, and the food is always consistent, fresh, delicious, and ready timely. The entire staff is super friendly. Also have to mention the selection of flavors is amazing. Carolina Tangy Gold and Buffalo Dry are my favorites. Burgers, chili dogs, onion rings, and wraps have also been excellent. I have a 1x a week tradition that when I pick up my son from daycare, we go to an early dinner together. I took my toddler to Roosters to dine in and the staff were so welcoming. With toddler in tow, I couldn't really enjoy my meal in peace so I ended up taking a lot of the food to go and let me tell you... you KNOW food is good is when it taste really good when cold. I know that sounds unpleasant at first but when time is of the essence and you need to eat something, you just go for it straight out of the fridge. I was so pleasantly surprised to find that the boneless chicken nuggets still had a delicious crisp and crunch that I was in awe. What a wonderful quick and tasty meal for whatever you are doing. The wings were big and cooked well, crispy, but not greasy. I suggest getting the sampler to try three of their sauces. There is a nice selection, but again, they need a kick-ass spicy choice that will make you sweat. Beer choices were good. They even carry Red Stripe. I tried Roosters for the first time last night after a wild hankering for some fish and chips. Let me tell you, they did not disappoint! The beer batter was fantastic. Cooked to perfection with a crispy outside and a delicious soft cod core. The fries didn't travel very well but were seasoned nicely. Hello, I placed an order for the Super Bowl. It appears the person who took the order made an error of 5:45, opposed to 4:45; now I understand that it's a busy day so they may be stress. The woman who is identified herself as a possible owner has Zero customer service. She reacted as if she was on some type of drug as when someone is calm flying off with a response such as " I took that order you are full of shit" is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard in my life. I laughed and said okay well I would like a refund. Response "No refunds ! Orders are final" I told her not to speak to me on that manner! Now the food smells good but I will not be back or support a business when an employee speaks to a customer in an aggressive manner. The young man was great and a woman with glasses deescalated quickly as the other woman was overwhelmed or stressed. we have been going to roosters since they opened. all I can say is that one bad egg can ruin a good experience and unfortunately when its the owner that has zero customer service skills and doesn't understand that without customers they have no business makes it shameful. After an error was made on a take out order I just called to notify them that the error had occurred. Didnt even ask for my money back since I did receive what they inadvertently added to the order the person I spoke to became so unhinged and started screaming about refunding my money. I told her I wasn't asking for my money back but Laura ( the apparent owner) kept screaming and screaming . She claimed that when she spoke to me when I placed the order thats what I told her. Well. I didn't place the order another family member did and He sounds nothing like me! ( it was approx $30 worth of additional food that they added to the bill that I wasn't even asking to be reimbursed for!) Well-lit, colorful, and full of flair, Roosters offers 2-for-1 drinks on everything (with the exception of bottles, I think) everyday. It is as if Happy Hour will never end here! The wings aren't small by no means, and the soft tacos are about 8 inches long, and served with an exceptional amount of chicken, beef, or whatever. The customer service is good, and the pricing? Can't really beat it. A dozen boneless wings, massive chicken taco with ranch, and two Roosters IPA drafts set me back $23 before tip. Not bad for New York! Our normal happy hour spot was temporarily closed, so we looked up other wing spots in the area and this came up... The wings here are 10/10 delicious and the service was fantastic! Their hottest sauces are delicious and spicy. If you're a real pepper head, the heat level on "don't ask" is 5/10. For normal people it's a 9/10. I loved it! Wings were hella tasty and big (had teriyaki, medium buffalo and chipotle.) the place is quaint, it's clean and everyone is friendly. Parking is a bit of a pain but I'm hoping they will do well and perhaps can expand. I was really craving some crisp, juicy wings, and I remembered this place as I had passed by many times. Before I placed my order, I was told to "hurry up" because the kitchen was closing. That should have been my cue to turn around and leave, but I really wanted some wings so I waited. And waited. And waited... I live labout 10 mins away, so I didn't look in the bag. I just paid & left. When I got home, I ripped open the bag and jumped right in. I was HIGHLY disappointed. The wings were over-cooked, dry and overly OVERLY sauced (trying to hide the dryness perhaps?). My fries were cold and the onion rings tasted like the heat-lamp they sat under too long.
