WORST DRIVE THRU EVER! Let me tell you guys..... This place has been open for nearly 6 months now and they still can't seem to get it together. Every single time I think to give them the benefit of the doubt and go there while on my lunch break, I regret it. Mostly in part due to the 8 to 19 minute wait time in the drive thru line. Yes! I said 19 minutes! No exaggeration there. Management needs to stop hiring 14 year olds to run their business and maybe this can change. I've seen the bad reviews on this CE and believed them because I would visit here at times for lunch, but I think they changed managers because the service is a lot better. I placed a catered order online that I could pick up at the location and the c/s put it through immediately without me having to call and place a long order over the phone or go up in person and place the order with the manager. The day I picked it up, everything was hot and fresh and I left before they brought out the gravy. When the manager discovered I was gone, he brought the gravy to our church! We were just there to purchase two (3) piece meals To Go. We lived about 2 miles away. When we started to eat our meals about 15 minutes later it was already cold. The cold we could have handled but chicken appeared to have been sitting awhile. The biscuits were so hard i could drop it on the table and it sounded like a rock. I called the restaurant to speak to a manager. I spoke with Josh who said he was the manager. After I explained about our food he apologized and offered to replace it. Wanted us to bring our food back in. I explained we were home undressed and it was inconvenient. He said to bring in receipt on another day with his name on it, and someone would honor our meals. He did admit they didn't always honor the request without the food. Suggested we put it in the refrigerator and bring it with us. Who in the heck is going to do all that. We just won't return. Everytime I go something is missing or I get something old. I recommend that sides not be pacaked until ordered. Chicken is a hit and miss. We LOVE Chicken Express, but not this store. The chicken frequently is dried out, you can tell it's been sitting awhile. They short orders, forget the rolls, stuff like that. So I don't go here often due to the poor experience I've had but I've had a pretty bad one today. So keep in mind guys, this is chicken EXPRESS. So I call ahead to order cause usually it'll be ready by the time I get there which they do allow. Josh takes my order - 8 piece dark, 20 tenders and 9 gizzards. He then tells me it's gonna be 30-45 minutes wait. I said is this the same if I went to the drive through right now? If I went to the drive through it'll be a 30-45 minute wait? He said yes cause they have to make all the chicken. I said I didn't realize that chicken express kept no chicken already made. He said all their chicken is made freal on the spot and that he would have to make the tenders, the chicken, and the gizzards all fresh. I understood the gizzards cause it's not common and every time I've order that it takes 10-15 minutes. BUT NO TENDERS AND NO CHICKEN ALREADY MADE AT CHICKEN EXPRESS? Wow! Good service there Josh, good service there chicken express...30-45 minutes to get chicken at chicken EXPRESS. So watch out guys if you want something at a "normal wait" for an express location, this is not the place to go. read more

Long story short, they take a long time. It's probably because they are located in a lower populated spot for the the greater area. So, I live between the Chicken E on Lakeridge and the one on Collins, and I went to this one because it's closer and tends to be less crowded in the drive thru. All I ordered was a family size jalepeño popper and a large sweet tea for a snack for $4.71. I was told to drive up to the window, so I did. I was there for about two minutes before someone came up, and the man who read my receipt almost couldn't read it, apparently. It was no big deal I don't expect the worlds best minds at the drive thru, but after that, I was waiting for another two minutes for a drink and change. By now I'm parked and there are two cars behind me. I finally got my drink and change, and i was beginning to think I paid $5 for a sweet tea. I was waiting for about 8 minutes at the window as I saw the workers inside go and give the people behind me their orders. I was waiting for a simple order, I understand they probably had to be cooked, but I would love to be told if I had to wait. I then FINALLY got told they were ready and they came soon after in a half folded box. I drove away pretty meh, but it just took a long time. read more

This location seems to go through workers constantly, though I've gone inside a few times now and always received good service and food quality. Inside the store the times I've been, everything has looked clean, mini-poppers cooked right, and no hassle getting Serendipity as it is kept stocked. Also it seems like someone on the soda dispenser has taken the time with it so things taste properly with no pure syrup root beer/Dr Pepper. The other thing is some chicken places if you get a 4pc tenders will give "three and a nubbin" with one of those half/small ones tossed in instead of a full-sized strip. This place so far hasn't done that to me, so I'm really happy with them. Plus the staff will bring it out to your table if it is slower inside, which isn't necessary, but nice of them. I haven't done drive thru which seems to be where some have had issue so I can't say anything there. read more

I have visited this location on Lake Ridge several times and each time I go I am totally surprised by the professional and super friendly demeanor of their staff. Most of the staff I have came across are younger kids, but you can not tell by the way they carry themselves and treat their customers. Having over 20 years of customer service/ HR experience I can only say KUDOS to both the management team and their staff. I am a parent of a 16 year old kid, and I can tell you that not every 16 year old knows the meaning of good work ethics. Keep up the good work you guys!!!! read more

I get the orders and drive home when I open up my meal I saw they gave me burnt gizzards so hard you can't chew on them, they looked old like they had been sitting there a long while, also they added a chicken strip that I didn't order in there with 1 extra biscuit and 1 roll it's like they added extra food cause they didn't make these gizzards right. Today was not the 1st time we stopped at the Chicken Express at Hwy 157 and Bedford Road in Bedford...BUT it will be the LAST TIME!!! We ordered 6 Livers and 9 Gizzards plus extra Gravy and Cherry Pies. Well, I don't know what they did to the gizzards but I couldn't eat them!! It looked like they had been split in half - length wise - and by the time they were fried they were like a piece of leather in your mouth -- there was NO way you could chew them up. There was absolutely no meat to eat on any of them. This is the 1st time we have had any problem with this Chicken Express and when I called to complain the manager said he could give me another order of gizzards...who wants them when they'll come out the same as they did the 1st time!!!!!!! Placed an order on the phone. Took about 10 minutes to get here. Paid and waited for my order, and waited, and waited. After almost 25 minutes of waiting, I asked about it, and they discovered that they gave it to some one else! No asked me about why I was waiting so long or asked me what I had ordered. In all, it took over an hour to get my foot from the time I ordered it on the phone. Because of their screw up, we had to settle for biscuits instead of rolls like we wanted. Got a "we're sorry", I think a refund was in order. The food overall was OK, biscuits suck. Next time we have a want of chicken(usually we order the 30 tender family pack for about 40$ total), I think I will drive a little further and go to Golden Chik. Had the #1 combo with corn nuggets, fried okra and biscuit. Tenders were nice and crispy- menu and tenders are similar to Golden Chick. Biscuit a little dry and doesnt really complement the not-so-flavorful gravy. Fried okra was good just a bit on the greasy side. Corn nuggets were really nice- sweet buttery goodness. Hear their sweet is famous so will try that next time. Will visit again. read more
