Told me I basically should have read the menu when it is in fact her job. But she seemed like she was in a rush. Her body language was very aggressive & I could see that she was in there talking a lot shii. Spoke with the manager. He seemed like a joke. Made an excuse for her. Chicken Express is one of those fast food restaurants that are mainly found in rural cities during your drive between big Texas cities. I have been enjoying chicken express ever since the first time I tried it. They specialize in chicken tenders, and there are many homestyle sides to choose from like corn nuggets, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, fried okra, and jalapeño poppers. Each meal also comes with the choice of a biscuit or a roll. My go to order here (don't judge me) is the liver combo. I like to enjoy this with the corn nuggets and the fried okra. Normally the meals come with one side and one drink, however, you can sub the drink for another side. Chicken express will not blow you away, however, I think that it is very delicious for being a low-key dirty, not eye-catching fast food chain. The Chicken served here is really good and they are one of the only places you can get fried chicken gizzards or fried chicken livers. The service is always fairly quick and the employees are always on top of the job and very friendly. "Can you count to X number" may be a good interview question for future potential hires. The person fulfilling our order decided to stop at 13 pieces. Paying $27 for chicken strips is already expensive enough without getting shorted. I didn't bother to call and complain because I'm not driving back over there for two strips. Honestly I never leave a review unless every part of my experience was ruined or the complete opposite and everything was perfect. Unfortunately it was the first option.. I pulled up and no greeting in then like a minute later the girl on headset asked what I want so I start saying my order... I felt like a complete inconvenience to her she just took my card and shut the window, I get my card back along with my food just a box no bag, napkins, utensils. For me I like having a bag I live on the second floor and without a bag it's like juggling everything. We visited Chicken Express in New Braunfels about 15 years ago while on vacation there and fell in love. We continued to visit other stores when it was convenient and had a similar experience. When the League City store opened we were excited because it's 5 minutes from the house. It was great when it opened but they started getting all of orders wrong. I just left this location. It was my first and LAST visit! I am very dissatisfied with how i was treated in the drive through. When i pulled up, I asked if there was a kids menu because I didn't see it( it's very small at the very bottom corner of the menu). The persons rude response was 'it's on the menu you ma'am' I finally saw it, I said 'Can I kids meal with chicken tenders and an extra piece of fish on the side' There was no response. After 45 seconds of silence I said 'hello are you there?' Their response was 'I'm waiting on you to tell me what side you want, what drink and a roll or a biscuit.' I said 'well you didn't ask me anything. Were we just supposed to sit here in silence and wait!?' No response. I told him my side and drink options and then pulled up. There was a lady at the window (she was very nice). I politely asked her for the manager. Turns out it was the "manager" on the intercom the whole time. His name is Ruben. I asked him was it your policy to just wait in silence for the customer to say something? Should i have had to say hello twice while ordering food? I had never been there. Why would he not just ask the customer what sides they wanted instead of wasting time not saying anything. Ruben was again silent after i asked him these questions. Then he threw his hands up at me and said 'ma'am I really don't know what else to tell you' I have worked in customer service before and I currently work in food service. That is NOT the way customers should be treated or talked to. Ruben is a poor manager when it comes to customer service. He needs to be retained on how to talk to people. I just finished a great dinner from here! On a Thursday night at 6pm the drive through line took me 7 minutes from start to finish with one car ahead of me. So quick service! Chicken was delicious, but the mashed potatoes and white cream gravy stole the show!! Sooo good. We had the green beans too which were fine as well. The hush puppies where rock hard. Seriously rock hard. Fries , cheese sticks and biscuits ok. Spent about 29 dollars. Drank the fountain drink. Ate the cheese sticks, took a bite of biscuit, and fries. Ate couple fried liver. I was craving them I don't know why. Threw everything away. No need to visit this location.
