First time having Turkish food in years and man I've been missing out on it! This place is mostly takeout but you can come and sit down to eat however there isn't that many tables but this place is advertised as takeout. It's also family owned and run. We placed the order over the phone while driving there and it was done by the time we got there. (15-20 mins) The owners were very nice and welcoming. Asking us if it was our first time or not. They're VERY friendly!!! For apps we ordered the cheese pie and spinach pie which were both very good. They were both made of phyllo dough which was very flaky and good. We also ordered a small Greek salad with chunks of lamb in it and the gyro dinner. The salad was a little heavy on the oil and vinegar but overall very good. The gyro dinner was very good in my opinion. It was rotisserie grilled slices of beef and lamb. Seasoned and cooked very well over a bed of rice pilaf. Since its a dinner entree it came with pita bread and yogurt sauce. The yogurt sauce was good and the pita bread is good hot but when it's just warm or cold it feels a little stale (Don't think it really was but it could have been. You could still eat it even if it was stale.) Overall I enjoyed the food here. I will be definitely coming back here again in the future. :-) read more

This was my first time there and i was excited to try this spot since I'm new to the area. I ordered a Falafel side order and a Humus side order. The falafel was great. Moist not overcooked and in a cigar shape. However, the Tahini sauce that came with it was awful. Clumpy not light and liquedy and had a bad taste. The Humus was a watery Clumpy mixture amd had an awful tangy taste to it like it was spoiled. I may go back....but with a little trepidation read more

Good place for a meal-take out or sit down. The doner is excellent. The kebabs are fine. Nothing exciting and different but consistent, good food with fair pricing and fairly speedy service. One item that is lacking is the bread. It tastes like cardboard after you get it home. Great little place, ,the Owner and his wife are really friendly and take care of "regulars". Stick to Turkish/Middle Eastern food, I ordered the Saganaki once and it was totally different than what I've had in Greece. All that aside, his Babbaganoush, Hummus, Kebabs, Tahina and salads are top-notch. End with some Turkish coffee and a sweet like Baklava and you'll think you're in Istanbul. read more

We love this place. When we get tired of burgers, pizza and all the other take-out choices, this is where we head. You can eat in or take out. The food is always consistent. Fast service. Fresh ingredients. Good value for the money. You can dinner - entree, salad and desert for four for less than $50, and still afford a nice bottle to go with your meal. BYOB for eat in. Allow extra time for take out on Friday and Saturday! (If they weren't busy, why would you want to eat here?) I'm hooked on the lamb shank dinner entree. Slow cooked all day long, comes over a bed of rice. It'd flavored just right, and the meat falls off of the bone. Order this one early - when they are all gone they are all gone for the night. I order from this place a few times a month. The Kabob Special Platter is very good. It has three different meats. The chicken in it is definitely the best part. The Lamb cubes are good, but it's slightly undercooked and can be somewhat tough. Sometimes I cook it more when I get it home.The gyro meat (probably more lamb?) is pretty good and plentiful. The greek sauce is excellent here. The The salad is average. The soups are very good. The baklava is excellent. The gyro's are really good. I've been to Greece and I'm very picky about my Greek food. They give big portions, and have decent seating, very homely, but the food was not my favorite. It seemed to lack flavor, we did the chicken kebab for a take out. They didn't have any of the famous white sauce you get or at least I didn't get any with my kebab. The gryo was the decent very similar to what you get elsewhere. read more

My favorites are the babaganoush, chicken kebab sandwiches, spinach pie, and grape leaves. When I walked in this small low-key place, the first thing I saw was a tray of spinach pies coming out of the oven. They looked gorgeous! How could I resist? And it was absolutely delicious!!! I had the chicken kebab dinner that came with a choice of soup or Greek salad. I decided to have both, so I paid the additional for it. I'm glad I tried both. The soup was spinach and vegetables; it was more like a veggie stew, with a very rich flavor. The dinner also comes with nice warm pita bread and yogurt sauce. This was an awesome truly home made dinner!!! It was enough food for my husband and myself because the serving was generous. I definitely recommend this place. What a great little Mediterranean/ Turkish mom and pop place right in Glen Rock NJ. Really delicious spinach/ cheese pies and fresh chicken kebabs with rice. The falafel's are also addicting. They are generous with their yogurt and tahina sauces. (unlike some other places where they charge you or give you a tiny ketchup packet's worth). AMAZING. Recently moved to town and have been exploring different restaurants... Many decent meals at different nice places, but tonight we decided to try a no-frills meal at Chicken Kebab... seemed like a healthier fast-food option. The reviews online echoed the great take-out options. So we arrived.... and saw that it was an actual restaurant. A mom and pop restaurant... family run... and fresh cooked. It was DELICIOUS and we almost feel that their strip-mall location and name "chicken kebab fast food" is severely misleading. We decided to sit-in and make it a dining experience- what a great call! They are so friendly, service is fast, and you can tell they take such pride in their home-made cooking. I ordered the chicken kebab with rice and the husband ordered a lamb, beef and falafel combo over rice... both came with salad, both came with delicious pita bread and the best tzatsiki sauce ever, and then though we were stuffed, we ordered baklava and rice pudding desserts to go. (Omg an hour later at home, those were incredible too!) We feel duped by all of the other restaurants that we shelled out so much money for over the past few weeks as we've been settling in.... and yet the most unsuspecting place delivered the best meal that we've had in a long time. My family and I get take out here about 2-3 times a month. The food is good. My issue with this place is pricing. While the prices on the menu are good, when they total your order, the math doesn't add up. Each time we go, we get 2 chicken sandwiches, doner sandwich, and a cup of soup. With tax, it should come to $25.47 ($6.95 per sandwich $2.95 for soup). The last 4 times I've been there, they charged $26.05, $26.65, $26.45, & $28.15. I check the menu and the prices have not changed. They never offered me a receipt, or a double check on anything. That's just plain bad business. read more

The doner gyro is amazing (they know how to make lamb) and the chicken gyro was different in great way since it was sliced and not in cube form. Try the meat pie for a great appetizer. I have had no problems with this place. I only take out from here and the food has always been good. The hummus and babaganoush appear to be homemade. The falafel is yummy and gyros are very good. The chicken lemon soup is a bit too lemony for me but if lemon is your thing go for it. read more
