Yum!! The bbq pork bahn mi is something I will definitely be coming back for. It was a bit on the spicier side with the jalapeño, so if you can't do spice order it without. Great flavor, huge sandwich, lots of meat and veggies...this was the perfect comfort meal. Their egg rolls were also pretty good, but the bahn mi was outstanding.

The last Banh Mi's I enjoyed were back when I lived in Sacramento. So finding this gem in San Pedro Square has been an amazing find for me. I had the BBQ Pork Banh Mi and Spring Rolls. Both were so neatly presented (very important to me), the flavors were on-point and delicious. The service was about 10 minutes and I grabbed a drink and a table in the meantime. San Pedro Square is always a hit with our friends group- there's something for everyone. But I think I have found my routine spot in the meantime with On a Roll!

On a roll, for when you want fast food on the go. Came to San Pedro Square market and decided to try their coconut shrimp, however, they were all sold out. So then our second choice was the potstickers. They were just OK and they came with the sweet spicy sauce too.

I ordered the salmon salad. The chef was genuine, you could just feel it. Dedication to his business. For $18, the portion is huge. Better yet, it's fresh. I was initially surprised he asked me to come back in 10 minutes. There's no way you can cook salmon that quickly unless its precooked. I returned to find him at the stove, so I waved at him and told him I'd return. When I did, I found a plastic bag with two containers, one for the hot salmon, another full of a fresh variety of greens, long shredded carrots, tomatoes, and extra sauce. The fish is a thick fillet where one end had to be tucked into the container. The sauce is a delicious sweet and sour onion combination. Combined with the salad, however, HEAVENLY. I broke a small portion of the fish into the salad and it looked like I barely touched the fish. Highly recommended if you plan on visiting San Pedro Square.

I wanted to go somewhere to have an early dinner with my aunt and I wasn't too sure where to go. Since there's so many different places to eat at in San Pedro marketplace, I figured we could go there and pick some thing. We ended up going to this cute Vietnamese spot right at the Side entrance. It was perfect because my aunt ordered the eggrolls, and I got some spring rolls and with my stupid food allergies, there's no MSG in their spring rolls! Yes, I'm allergic to monosodium glutamate and I'm Hapa! Ughhhh fun stuff! Anyways, the gentleman at the front counter was very busy, but took our order, and we also got a strawberry tea, and I got a lychee tea. I loved all the different Boba and lychee jelly inside my tea, and the spring rolls tasted very fresh! The only funny thing was is, the gentleman didn't give us any utensils. I had to go back after we sat down and pick up utensils . lol Everything else was fine within the service and we were able to sit down at this cute Italian spot and watch the two people there clean out their giant pasta machine. Apparently it was making the pasta stick instead of separate. I've never seen a giant pasta machine like that, so it was very interesting for my aunt and me to watch them assemble and disassemble the machine. Since I have a gluten allergy, I can't really eat there but my aunt said she definitely wants to try it! Lol we will definitely be back to this Vietnamese spot, On A Roll for a light dinner or snack/appetizer.

This was my first time in San Pedro Market and the first store I saw when I walked in was On A Roll. But, I did walk through all the eateries to see the endless option. I still came back to On A Roll since I was craving a banh mi. I really appreciated the Asian fusion cuisine and some of my favorite Vietnamese dishes. My friend and I split a grilled pork banh mi and spring rolls. The banh mi was filled with lots of delicious pork and pickled veggies. It definitely hit the spot and fulfilled by banh mi craving. The spring rolls came with fried wonton chips and yummy peanut sauce. The peanut sauce was my favorite and a really good addition to the spring rolls. The service was pretty quick and around a lot of the other eateries. Will definitely be back whenever I'm craving some good Vietnamese food.

My pre-game spot to eat. Good price, decent sized, tasty sandwich, quick service. Located in the San Pedro Square Market, towards the exit near restrooms, counter space to sit and eat. Everything I saw others get looked nice too. I'll try their Chicken Pad Thai next time.

I came here with some coworkers for a quick lunch and got the spring rolls. They were tasty and great for a light and quick lunch. We ordered ahead through Yelp/other online service and the owners kindly let us know to call in next time since the online ordering takings a percentage of fees from them. Coworkers got the vermicelli bowl and salmon bowl and they looked so good, will definitely be trying those next time. Bottom line: quick service for lunch and the owners were kind. All the food looked amazing, I am definitely coming back to try new things next time.

First time trying this place and the spring rolls did not disappoint. Taste red fresh and delicious. The sauce was also good. Very reasonably priced for the portion as well so win win. I'll be back to try more things

Chow mein is not what I'm used to. Looks like spaghetti used for their egg noodles and texture to it does not appeal to me.

I highly recommend order online in advance as the wait can be about 30-40 minutes. Upon arriving, the inside was packed with people waiting for their orders. I ordered the 6 eggrolls and asked for 3 regular eggrolls and 3 netted eggrolls so that I could try both. The eggrolls come with veggies (lettuce, mint, and cilantro). It also came with pickled veggies and fish sauce. I also ordered 4 of their nem nuong as not every Vietnamese spot offers this type of spring roll. These have grilled pork in them rather than pork and shrimp. It comes with its own sauce which I'm not sure what its made of. The nem nuong were delicious with the grilled pork and there is a crispy component inside, too. They taste fresh and the sauce is tangy. I like the addition of the small chili sauce they give you on the side. The real show stoppers have to be the eggrolls though. They are perfectly crispy and filled with delicious pork filling. The veggies they provide are really fresh and the pickled veggies helps to add more depth. The eggrolls themselves don't feel too heavy or oily either which I really appreciated. The gentleman behind the counter was friendly when I was picking up. Overall, I would definitely recommend this spot and can imagine how their party trays must be a big hit!

The pork and shrimp net egg rolls were perfectly crispy and packed with flavor, and the bánh khọt egg rolls were just as amazing. I loved wrapping everything in the fresh greens they provided, dipping each bite into the fish sauce, and adding a little sriracha for extra kick. Yes, the fish sauce smell lingers on your hands, but it's completely worth it because the flavors are incredible. There's plenty of parking since it's located in a strip mall, which made it easy and convenient to visit. If you love crispy-style egg rolls, I highly recommend this spot. I'll definitely be stopping by every time I'm in the area.

It was a really hot day on a Wednesday when we came by. Inside felt stuffier than outside so we opted to sit outside. We did an early lunch slightly before noon, but even on a weekday there were a lot of other customers. Devin got the #1 Special Rice Roll and I got the #10 Bun Rieu. I was a bit skeptical of getting a hot noodle soup on a hot day, but I figured it'd be great to find a solid bun rieu spot closer to me than my current defaults all the way in Milpitas. The #1 came out first and rather quickly, the #10 took a bit longer but wasn't a long wait by any means. The first thing I noticed was that the plate of add-ins was rather unique, I've never received perilla leaves or banana flowers with my bun rieu before. The broth had great flavor and this soup did come with pork blood cubes. I would definitely come back for the bun rieu. Hot soup noodle soup on a hot day wasn't actually so bad. I tried some of the Special Rice Rolls and felt unsure, maybe it's an acquired taste but I wasn't an immediate fan.

Ice cold water was refilled (at the end of our meal). I only knocked a point due to the refill of water being at the end. Not a huge deal. FOOD: 2/5 stars. Food was well presented and looked great, however it was not hot, but it wasn't cold. It seemed like it had been sitting out for a while as the Bun Ba Hue we ordered was mildly hot...it also lacked depth and spice. We ordered medium spice level as we thought that would be a great balance and not too overly spicy...it was not spicy at all. The soup temperature was mildly hot. Like just above warm really. We also had their vermicelli plate. The plate was cold. The pork was dry and a bit chewy. Almost like it was precooked and microwaved later on. I was not pleased. The fish sauce that came with the plate was sweet. That wasn't something I expected. It did help the moisten the pork. The egg rolls we ordered were not hot at all. The inside were soft and mushy. The crust was crunchy but the inside of the egg rolls were not to my liking. Really expected more due to the name being Hue. My Fiance who's Vietnamese was more critical as she's even more particular than me about her cultural food. Environment: 5/5 stars. Clean and spacious.
