single DB, double DB, smash fries, and strawberry milkshake
    Hannah D.

This place knows how to do smash burgers right! We stopped by after a night out, and it was exactly what we were craving. We ordered the Single DB, Double DB, Smash Fries, and a strawberry milkshake. Both burgers were cooked perfectly, with crispy, caramelized edges and juicy centers. The house sauce complemented the burgers well and tied all the flavors together without overpowering the beef. The Smash Fries were incredibly delicious and definitely worth ordering. Crispy, flavorful, and addictive, they paired perfectly with the burgers. However, the standout item of the entire meal was the strawberry milkshake. It was easily one of the best milkshakes we've ever had--thick, creamy, and packed with flavor. One thing to note is that the food leans on the salty side, which may be a positive or negative depending on your preference. I also wasn't a huge fan of having to pay extra to add vegetables to the burger, as that feels like something that should come standard. Ordering was simple and convenient, whether through the self-service kiosk or directly with the staff. Our food came out quickly, making it a great option for a fast and satisfying meal. The restaurant itself is small and charming, though seating and parking can be limited. Overall, if you're looking for a delicious smash burger, great fries, and an outstanding milkshake, this spot is definitely worth checking out.

It's a saddens me a bit to write this review. Here's why. I've actually had their burger sometimes back last year in a door dash delivery. It was quite late and this was one of the few places open when I wanted a non-franchise burger. I was blown away by it then. Crispy, charred, but full of beef flavor. I've always wanted to dine in since then and finally had a chance. It wasn't what it used to be. The burger was good, but not as I remembered. No crispy, beefy, caramelly maillard reaction I remembered was no where to be found. What distincts smash burger from a burger. It tasted more like a patty that was just pressed flat and cooked like a plain old burger. The Fries was carrying the whole experience. Nice, crispy, I think cooked in tallow. Full on flavor not just potato flavor. The experience I gotta say was subpar too. It wasn't too crowded, yet, it took me like 30 minutes to get the food. It was sparsely seated when I entered but a sizable crowd was forming by the time I got food, people waiting and frustrated for the food to come out. I ate inside but the service though wasn't rude, didn't seem as professional where it seemed like a high school kids's part time work though half the staff seemed much older than that. I gotta say if it wasn't for the fries, I might've given it a 2 stars. I really hope they'll be able to come back to the quality I've enjoyed before. Maybe I was just unlucky on the day.

This place is pretty good, I would compare it to in and out. Good shakes, good customer service. Chill burger joint. I wouldn't mind coming again. A little on the pricey side but nothing outrageous.

I had really high expectations for this burger spot after seeing all the promotional videos and positive reviews online, so I decided to stop by during lunch. Unfortunately, the experience ended up being pretty underwhelming. The first thing that surprised me was that every single topping on the burger costs extra. On top of that, I didn't even receive everything I ordered despite dining in. I had ordered chilis on the side and a drink, but neither was given to me until I specifically asked about them. When I asked for the chilis, the cashier told me they had run out and asked if jalapeños were okay instead. I ended up taking the jalapeños, but it was still disappointing considering I went well before closing hours. I also wasn't given my drink cup until I asked for it separately, which made the service feel pretty disorganized overall. The restaurant itself also didn't feel especially clean during my visit. What frustrated me most was that it genuinely felt like I would not have received either of the items I paid for unless I specifically asked for them. Between the missing drink cup and the missing side order, the whole experience came across as pretty careless and disorganized. The burger itself was ok. The patty had no crispy bits or any caramelization so the overall experience felt lackluster given the hype surrounding the place. Maybe I just caught them on an off day, but this visit definitely didn't live up to expectations. I'd consider giving them one more try in the future, though. I would rate the burgers a 2/5, sauce a 2/5 and the fries a 3/5.

We are talking about the best smash burger in San Jose imo right now . The food has been extraordinary for now over a years worth of visits and consistent enough to me for I to rave about it . I always go double smash with the default toppings set for it . The smash fries are really something tho. Hot and well salted fries crispy loaded with cheese , their burger sauce , and pickles / meat patty. Really something else . I Will continue to be a frequenter here lol . Tip : ordering from kiosks there are very straight forward and easy.the associates and staff are very sweet and there is a bathroom that is tidy and well Maintained, just ask for code !

Dough Burger is a cool spot that offers smash burgers, french fries, soda, floats, and milkshakes. They are located in a tiny stripmall off N. First Street, close to Chevron Gas, Starbucks, Slice Pizza, etc. The parking is challenging during peak hours. They are open until 1:30am most days and 3am on Fridays and Saturdays. The ambience is lively with house music. Inside and outside seating available. The decor inside is pretty cool. They also sell some of their brand merchandise. One unisex restroom with code. Order via two kiosks and/or cashier. Combo with Smash Burger, French fries, and fountain drink. The burger was pretty tasty and the sauce was close or similar to Red Robin's Campfire Sauce. I had really high hopes for this place after seeing a couple videos of them going viral on TikTok and we were craving a hearty smash burger, so we decided to give it a try. We placed an order inside at 6:50 and didn't get the order until 7:35. What made it even more confusing was that they don't call your name out or anything they just place it on the counter. There was also a customer that had ordered at 6:15 and he said that they forgot to even put his order in. We ordered two double smashburgers with chopped chilies and an order of saucy fries. After waiting that long you would think that the fries were going to be fresh and piping hot, but they were unfortunately so cold and hard. The smashburgers themselves were alright, the whole order came with one sauce on the side and I feel like it saved the burger because without it was pretty dry. Overall, the long wait, bad service and mediocre food was really disappointing and not worth it.

Had a late night flight into the San Jose airport, so as one of the few late night places in the Bay Area, this was a must stop for some night time bites. They even advertise on their neon light sign that they're open late. Super close to the airport too and located near the hotels if you need a reference. The parking lot is connected to some other plazas, so finding parking isn't too hard. There's indoor and outdoor seating and tables but with how popular it is, even at later night hours, finding seating can be difficult, so make sure you snipe a table when possible. Ordering is through a kiosk near the front and they have some of their merch on sale as well. Giant lab observation style windows so you can watch the workers prepare your halal burgers too. For our late night meal, we got the: 1) Triple Burger: -3 halal beef patties triple stacked with cheese, onions, pickles and lots of sauce, all in a brioche bun. They angle it so the meat comes out diagonally from the bun, so it looks good for pictures, but to make sure it doesn't get everywhere, shove everything back in. We got this with extra onions, giving it a stronger bite. -Definitely a nice juicy burger and the sauce has a bit of sweetness to it, so it's not the same as what I'd expected (In-n-Out's thousand island sauce). Something about it reminds me of the White Castle-esque sliders I had as a child, so it's a yummy nostalgic taste. 2) Fries: -Comes with a side of the sauces as well and lightly seasoned. Thin style fries. Not the crispiest and slight styrofoamy from the get go. I'm usually a fries enjoyer, but this was a miss for me and couldn't finish it. I think I'll skip out on the fries next time. 3) Root Beer Float: -This came out the last and it's literally a can of A&W root beer and a cup with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream. Get it if you're craving it, but if it's not the fresh from the fountain kind, I don't think I'll get it again since I can kind of make this at home, especially since the cost is around that of getting a double burger. Overall not a bad fast food spot.

Dough Burgerrrrrr!!! Words cannot explain how much of a gem this place is. First of all, I LOVE that this place is open so late, considering surrounding businesses close so early, which being in close proximity to downtown, doesn't really make any sense, but I digress. This is a really solid place to go to after a night out. Did I mention it's halal? Service was quick just as you would expect from a burger joint. What I also appreciate is that it isn't a millennial burger place that charge an arm and a leg for everything they can. It's no frills, you get exactly what you want. Everything was fresh as hell. Ordering can be done through the kiosk or with the cashier. The only downside I would say is the lighting of the place. To me, it was very sterile like a hospital. Just a lil more ambient lighting and they're quite literally perfect. Go to Dough Burger and show them some love. NOW!

We walked past this place many times just never had a chance to try it...and it was pretty good! We ordered double burger with lettuce and tomato and fries. The patty was really juicy, sauce was also delicious and just the right amount. Chill vibes, totally recommended for a quick bite!

Burgers here are great! I got the triple with bacon. Food here is halal if you care. Sort of gives me shake shack flavor and texture vibes in a way. Delicious. Fries and not soggy. I remember prices being around 5.99 for a double burger and 6-7 for a triple. Great prices for today!

So simple, yet so delicious and halal too! Dough Burgers has easily become one of my favorite spots for smash burgers. I love how the menu is straightforward, but every item is done really well. It reminds me of Japanese-style simplicity where the focus is on quality, balance, and letting the flavors speak for themselves. Nothing overcomplicated, just really good food done right. I also love their story. They started as a food truck and have now grown into a brick-and-mortar restaurant, which is amazing to see. I'm genuinely so happy for them and love supporting a business that's clearly growing because people really love their food. They currently have one location, and it's always super busy, so just be aware there may be a wait! I ordered both the Double Dough Burger and the Triple Dough Burger, and both were amazing. The patties were juicy and flavorful, the cheese melted perfectly, and the grilled onions, pickles, and signature sauce tied everything together. The brioche bun was soft and held everything without falling apart, which I really appreciated. The Smash Fries were also a standout. Crispy fries loaded with savory meat, pickles, and their sauce. Their sauce is seriously addictive and adds so much flavor! To top it off, I had a root beer float and a vanilla shake, which were both creamy and a great way to finish the meal. One small note for awareness: there is only one shared restroom, and I do wish there was better ventilation. If you're seated nearby, it can be a bit uncomfortable after someone uses it. Cleanliness and airflow in that area would definitely make the dining experience even better. Overall, this is still a spot I really enjoy and will continue to support. If you're craving a simple, high-quality smash burger with bold flavor, Dough Burgers is absolutely worth checking out!

Single smash Burger with lettuce, tomato, and Halal Bacon Added

Dough Burger has become widely popular Smash burger Joint on social Media for a while. From the video and pictures; it definitely looked appealing. But, I was a bit apprehensive;as I feel places that have heavy influencer presence aren't really good recommendations a lot of times. However, this place caught me by surprise. I was debating on having the pizza spot next door, but decided to finally try Dough Burger out instead. Everytime I pass by this place is packed; it's nice it stays open until 3AM. So it's nice to have other burger joint open instead of jack In The Box lol I placed an online order everything here is A La Carte but you can make your meal a combo. What's great about this place is the prices are affordable. I decided to get single smash burger and make it a meal that comes with drink. Single smash burger: 5/5 Very good smash burger and everything is made to order here. The patty was flavorful and not paper thin like some smash burger joints make them. The burger itself only comes with pickle, cheese, onions, and their special sauce. Any add ons come at additional cost. Although, mine didn't have any onions on it. I decided to add lettuce, tomato, and there Halal Bacon to mine. The burger itself was on the smaller side. In pics these burgers look huge but they're not. Since I got the combo it came with side of regular fries that were good and nicely slated, and I had fountain drink. The total for the single Smash Burger Combo came out to 14 bucks even which is better then these fast food prices and below average quality lol Overall, this is a Great Spot if you're looking for a good burger in the area. Especially, if you're looking for food late night. I would definitely recommend this place.

This is their current location, but I don't think it's their permanent place of business. Just for the time being. Google maps will take you to a parking lot entrance that's closed, blocked by a chain, so make sure you enter the parking lot on Locust Street. I ordered online, and the wait time was a bit long (20+ minutes) but not terrible. And once you arrive, there's a sign near the parking lot directing you to walk down an alley-like path. No signs at the door, just a dumpster outside. Yup, that's where you pick up. It feels like you're walking through the back door of a restaurant kitchen. Actually when you step inside, it indeed IS the kitchen which doubles as a pickup spot (no seats, no signs, I just showed the guy my order on my phone and he handed me my food packed neatly in a paper bag). I got the perro loco which comes with fries on the side, and an arepa with cheese. I didn't like that customers can't customize items when ordering online for pick up. Also wasn't a fan of the pineapple sauce, though I think that's one of the things they're known for. But the hot dog was still good, generous with the toppings and certainly unique. The sausage was plump and juicy with a mild flavor. The fries were delicious as well, and didn't taste cheap. And the mini arepa with cheese was buttery and had a nice texture. Altogether it made for a filling meal.

For entrees, we had the halibut and prime filet with a side of broccolini. Everything was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Drinks are on the pricey side- I had a Hero Old Fashioned and the Taylor Made, $20 each. They were nicely crafted, so worth the price. They brought out a Carmel Popcorn Sundae for my husband's birthday and even gave him a birthday card which I thought was a nice touch. Service was slow and steady. The restaurant had a nice visual ambience, but also felt casual as there was a lot of chatter, which isn't a bad thing depending on what you're looking for. Our waiter was especially friendly and helped us decide what to order. I really wish I could remember his name, as I'm posting this a bit late, but he was a huge reason why we had a great experience! Here's a quick rating on the food itself: Stuffed mushrooms (3.5/5): This was recommended by the waiter as a favorite among patrons. The mushrooms weren't bad or anything, but for some reason, it gave me combination pizza vibes that I wasn't expecting. It was good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to order it again personally. Bone-in ribeye (5/5): an amazing cut that was cooked perfectly. Exactly what you would expect from a good steakhouse. The compound butter was fantastic! Bone-in apricot glazed pork chop (3.5/5): this one may hit different for different folks. The pork was perfectly cooked and juicy, but the apricot glaze was definitely a little too sweet for our palettes. If you're looking for something more savory, I might try something else. But hey, sweet might be your thing too! Caramel popcorn sundae (4.5/5): we got this one complimentary for being our special day, which was a really nice surprise! And it was a full serving! This one was obviously sweet, but surprisingly more subdued than it sounds, which was really nice! Overall, it was truly a memorable night with great food. And though some things didn't quite work for our palettes, I can totally see that it may for others--so that didn't impact my ratings because they were still good--just not for us. That said, the care that we received on our anniversary was what truly made me land on a 5/5 rating. Definitely coming back for future special occasions!
